| Aug 27 17:57:00 | Neural Nodes | Great game, I just played it through and it does throw up some interesting tactical options; you have to make sure you keep 2 nodes ahead of the slugs, try not to get boxed in, use your armoured guys to protect your node-capturing speedy guy and try not to have 2 of your guys on the same node when attacked. Art style also really stands out, congratulations on the game | |
| Aug 27 18:10:00 | 13m 00s | Grow | Really sorry but it just didn't work for me, the mouse cursor stopped moving almost straight away and I couldn't do anything. Seems like you have to bump into the other cells to grow, I liked that idea |
| Aug 27 18:25:00 | 15m 00s | VENA (Viral Evolution: Nano Attack) | Not sure if I didn't get far enough but some extra weapons or powerups would have been good, it seems like the enemies would have changed if I got further though? The controls felt good, really responsive. |
| Aug 27 18:32:00 | 7m 00s | Genvaders | The links don't work for me, can't download it? |
| Aug 27 18:36:00 | 4m 00s | Go Darwin | Really nice, I loved the different types of dodos. Definitely enjoyed playing this one |
| Aug 27 18:43:00 | 7m 00s | Vegetal Evolution | Interesting and different idea. it was really tough having to go off the screen though.. I couldn't get pas the first level |
| Aug 27 18:56:00 | 13m 00s | Ikaruga Devolved | Great controls, the dodging was good and I liked the colour changing mechanic. Made it interesting to play |
| Aug 27 19:14:00 | 18m 00s | Evolving Empire | Impressive achievement! I actually loved the graphics as well, felt like playing Civ with my old Sensible Soccer team |
| Aug 27 19:23:00 | 9m 00s | Augment to advance | Looks and sounds very good, I like the idea of evolving your skills to complete the levels, way too hard for me though |
| Aug 27 19:35:00 | 12m 00s | The Plurality | Really excellent atmosphere, the design works really well and the plot was nice. Fantastic job |
| Aug 27 20:15:00 | 40m 00s | Strike of Rage ! | Really polished, fantastic visual style; I would love to see more games look like this. Amazing to make this in 24hrs |
| Aug 27 20:23:00 | 8m 00s | Silent Game of Death | Nice controls and visual effects, I definitely like the way it all looks. Feels like this could have turned into something really good with more time |
| Aug 27 20:32:00 | 9m 00s | SEW | Really liked the use of lighting, created a good atmosphere. I liked the turrets and traps as well, was fun setting up a wall of guns and luring the enemies into it |
| Aug 27 20:44:00 | 12m 00s | Move the Cheese | Worked well and made me use my brain, nice simple interface that let you get on with solving the puzzles. I liked the variation in block types as well |
| Aug 27 20:51:00 | 7m 00s | Outside of the Test Tube | Had a few issues with placing my towers, but once I got them down it all worked well |
| Aug 27 20:59:00 | 8m 00s | LudumVille | I did get a bit confused by how it all worked with the menus and so on, but it fits the theme really well, and is definitely an interesting idea. Like the guitar playing too. |
| Aug 27 21:07:00 | 8m 00s | I'd Change the World for You | Nice platformer and good level-changing mechanic. The audio was fantastic too; gave it a really feeling of momentum. In fact having the blocks move in time with the music would have been cool. Good job overall |
| Aug 27 21:15:00 | 8m 00s | A New Kind of Man | Good idea, couldn't get the 2nd mutation to work though, how do you go invisible? Fits the theme really well |
| Aug 27 21:26:00 | 11m 00s | The ducks are taking over!! | It makes a lot more sense now I've read your explanation on the evolution possibilities. Nice retro graphics and audio, Good job |
| Aug 27 21:41:00 | 15m 00s | Evolution Stew | Great idea! I love seeing the creature at the end, and figuring stuff out like the Jackhammer and jetpack |
| Aug 28 16:39:00 | 18h 58m | Colorlies | Nice atmosphere and music, i wanted more time to watch the cells interact and evolve. Was quite realxing |
| Aug 28 16:48:00 | 9m 00s | Dissolution | I liked the pixel art style, that combined with the audio gave it a nice atmosphere. Would be interested in playing a finished version if you do one |
| Aug 28 16:57:00 | 9m 00s | eVo | Really made me smile, I was a shark with horns but I was killed by the Queen of Dover Castle. More games should have the option to destroy the Sun. |
| Aug 28 17:17:00 | 20m 00s | DNA | Wow, I loved it when I got legs. First of this year's games I've played that has really felt like I have evolved through my actions in the game |
| Aug 28 17:51:00 | 34m 00s | Pincers | It felt similar to the first level of Spore, but I think it was very well done and fits the theme perfectly. I enjoyed playing this one |
| Aug 28 17:59:00 | 8m 00s | Stevie Asteroid Rescues the Hovercredits | I was really enjoying it until it got too hard, felt like I was fighting the controls a bit. Still I like the way the graphics and challenged evolved, and that it evolved with you learning the platform. |
| Aug 28 18:04:00 | 5m 00s | Super Darwin | Fantastic visuals |
| Aug 28 18:13:00 | 9m 00s | Deep Sea Evolution | Lighting & Music = great atmosphere. I generally love games with exploration or a sense of wonder, so swimming off and finding larger creatures was nice. Good work on this |
| Aug 28 18:38:00 | 25m 00s | Life of a Worm | Aagh I want to be a Monkey, stupid humans! Yes this was good fun, thanks! |
| Aug 28 18:45:00 | 7m 00s | Darwin Fitotherapy | What a strange little game, I like it but I can't explain why... |
| Aug 28 18:56:00 | 11m 00s | Yellow Dog | Good dog (pats on head) |
| Aug 28 19:07:00 | 11m 00s | Bitolution Love | If anyone knew what was happening I'd like to know, a somewhat compelling atmosphere but mostly confusion |
| Aug 28 19:18:00 | 11m 00s | On the Origin of Block | Great idea, liked the combining of block DNA to get to the solution |
| Aug 28 19:29:00 | 11m 00s | Unstable Planet | Nice platformer, I played for ages to watch the level evolves, it kind of lulled me into a trance (in a good way) |
| Aug 28 19:34:00 | 5m 00s | PEB 2012 | Well it was the last thing I was expecting for this LD, I'll give you that! |
| Aug 28 19:57:00 | 23m 00s | Slime LifeTime | Good little game, I was kinda hoping for a mega-palace that filled the whole screen though :) Good job putting upgrades & a shop in |
| Aug 28 20:06:00 | 9m 00s | Nom's Evolvathlon | If Only I'd known about Q! I really enjoyed playing that, evolution system worked really well and lots of variety |
| Aug 28 20:23:00 | 17m 00s | OF SPECIES | Beautiful, very immersive. |
| Aug 28 20:29:00 | 6m 00s | Universal Adaptors! | Good progression, liked getting out of the water. I didn't mind the graphics, some animations would have been nice though. |
| Aug 28 20:42:00 | 13m 00s | 500 years | Great idea, I really liked watching the simulation. It would be good to see a bigger difference between soldiers and workers, and perhaps see the soldiers with different weapons depending on their technology. Overall really interesting |
| Aug 29 13:35:00 | 16h 53m | Swarm | I was confused by the menus, not sure exactly what I had to do to progress. Having said that I really liked the idea of the gameplay, running away from stuff was fun. |
| Aug 29 13:47:00 | 12m 00s | Vesuvius | OK I tried running it locally, then I uploaded it somewhere and tried running it online. Tried Chrome, FF & IE. No luck I'm afraid. Sorry |
| Aug 29 15:36:00 | 1h 49m | Paprika Blue | Very beautiful game, sort of a cross between Okami & Journey on the visual style, like the audio too. With some more levels and variation in gameplay this would be excellent. Well worthy of a post-compo version |
| Aug 29 15:50:00 | 14m 00s | Bots Vs Fleshbags | Good first effort, looking forward to seeing your game for the next Ludum Dare. Keep at it! |
| Aug 29 15:58:00 | 8m 00s | Doug Bones - Fossil Collector | Nice feel to the jumping, although a bit frustrating for me. Your original idea was crazy ambitious! Good work for a 15-hour game jam |
| Aug 29 16:04:00 | 6m 00s | Evolization | Great idea, I would like to play a post-compo version where the hunger bar is a little more forgiving, or perhaps you can see the full map to plan the best routes to food etc. Good work overall |
| Aug 29 16:48:00 | 44m 00s | DGP: Space Lion | Nice graphics and enemy evolution, lot of content in there too |
| Aug 29 16:54:00 | 6m 00s | Evolutionary Chocolatier | Top marks for innovation, didn't expect to be playing a chocolatier sim |
| Aug 29 17:02:00 | 8m 00s | Genetics-Pop | Stuff happened fast, I kind of wanted a little time to plan & think about things. Overall I liked it though, nice idea, clean visuals |
| Aug 29 17:17:00 | 15m 00s | Influenza | Fantastic game, love the whole side view cut-away thing with the floors, and the little guys had a lot of personality. Like others I found it difficult to progress due to waiting around, although it was a lot easier once I realised you could use the mouse to control the camera. If you don't mind me throwing some suggestions on the controls: I think I would have liked the mouse to be the primary method of dealing out attacks - perhaps some mouse aiming on the sneezing (ranged attack), click on a nearby target for coughing (meleƩ) and maybe click on a spot and the guy goes there to vomit (area of affect), just an idea though. Hope you keep working on it, it's really great |
| Aug 29 17:44:00 | 27m 00s | Mutagen | Excellent idea, with some really nice graphics too. If there was an updated version that fixed some of the lag issues I would definitely play this again, well done |
| Aug 29 17:49:00 | 5m 00s | Geometry Evolution | Nice idea, good take on the theme |
| Aug 29 18:10:00 | 21m 00s | EVOLVES! | I so desperately wanted to use them mouse to aim, probably because I was getting destroyed though. Overall a good retro shooter, felt nice and solid to play. |
| Aug 29 21:19:00 | 3h 09m | Fluff | I know you said this only took 14 hours, and you can tell it's not finished, but I still think it's really good. When I got those little legs and realised I could walk up walls, that was cool! |
| Aug 29 21:32:00 | 13m 00s | Eludare Virus | I enjoyed the simulation side of this, it was quite hard to affect the game enough to win, but I liked the idea of making creatures immune to other strains or killing them etc. High marks for theme and innovation |
| Aug 29 21:53:00 | 21m 00s | Tiimmmeeee | Wow I played that like 6 times so I could get to the end, and it was worth it! I want to give spoilers but don't worry I won't. Really clever little game, and solid platform movements. Good ending |
| Aug 29 22:01:00 | 8m 00s | Human Fatality | Really nice graphics and overall design, just so incredibly frustrating, would loved to have seen past the dinosaur age but the jumps were too unforgiving for me |
| Aug 29 22:07:00 | 6m 00s | Evolution of the Flying Pinatas | Yeah I liked this one, bit of rush when they all multiply at the start, then quite fun trying to back them into corners and clear the lab, then a good chase tofinish off the last few |
| Aug 29 22:17:00 | 10m 00s | Shape the World! | Similar to the first level of Spore, but in some ways better, as your abilities are directly related to your shape. Excellent way of dealing with evolution and creature editing. Nice audio and atmosphere |
| Aug 29 22:22:00 | 5m 00s | Infestation | Nice polished shooter, like the weapon variety and the overall visual style |
| Aug 29 22:28:00 | 6m 00s | Attack of the killer cute things! | I murdered 45 adorable creatures, hooray! This was a fun little game, nice graphics. Creature behaviour did seem to change over time |
| Aug 29 22:33:00 | 5m 00s | Go Go Ninja Dinosaur | Just shouted to my wife in the other room, "Hey honey, I'm a Dinosaur and I'm Ninja kicking a bunch of asteroids to save the mice!" <br/>Thanks for giving me that opportunity |
| Aug 29 22:36:00 | 3m 00s | Alivolv | Nice controls, really liked running around the outside of the planet. Nice to have to balance shooting and stomping buildings. Got very hard very quickly though |
| Aug 30 18:42:00 | 20h 06m | @#$% Life! I'm the god damn SUN. | Really cool idea, fun to play, nice clean art style. Top marks |
| Aug 30 18:48:00 | 6m 00s | A Game of Towns | Always interesting to watch these type of simulations |
| Aug 30 18:59:00 | 11m 00s | Adaptation : large or small | I would have liked more fluid controls, but I thought this was a great concept. I think if the idea was developed further and linked with an interesting visual style, then this could be a great little game |
| Aug 30 19:09:00 | 10m 00s | Dinolution | Hey really excellent platformer! I liked the overall style of the graphics, the platforming was interesting and I really appreciated that the enemies dropped hearts along the way (for people like me who are not that good at platform games). Good work guys |
| Aug 30 19:18:00 | 9m 00s | How evolution really works? | Wow seriously great entry here, think you just taught us all a lesson in using simple graphics to achieve nice visuals (well you certainly taught me a lesson). Funny & Interesting take on the theme too, well done |
| Aug 30 19:25:00 | 7m 00s | Bit by Bit | Couldn't figure this out at all, sorry |
| Aug 30 19:38:00 | 13m 00s | Bit-Craft Evolution | Yep, I think this is one of the best LD games I've played so far. Genuinely fun, good evolution of the craft and increase in enemy numbers, great graphics. I have to say I really like the alpha noise, just personal taste but it looked superb on my laptop (using latest Chrome, Windows 7 64bit, I7 processor) |
| Aug 30 19:47:00 | 9m 00s | Chaotic God | Thumbs up to the paleontologist sprite, that guy was an adorable 8bit mining machine. Good fun idea, enjoyed it |
| Sep 1 12:29:00 | 40h 42m | Firefly | Glad I read the tutorial, the most important thing in there for me was the difference between left & right clicking on a seed, once I had that figured out I really enjoyed playing. Nice gentle atmosphere, good music, great use of evolution and a genuinely interesting concept. The pie-chart display is a very elegant way of presenting the differences between seeds. Anyone who is having trouble running this, keep trying as it is definitely worth the effort |
| Sep 1 12:55:00 | 26m 00s | BobBots! | Quite simplistic in terms of controls & level design, but the idea of enemies picking up pieces and evolving was excellent. I ended up letting the robots just collect the stuff so I could see how they integrated it into new designs. Definitely worth expanding on this |
| Sep 1 13:02:00 | 7m 00s | Super Charles Darwin | Aarrggh so hard! Started inadvertently doing the Wilhelm scream myself every time I died. Points for graphics & sound, lots of content too |
| Sep 1 13:09:00 | 7m 00s | Megavolve | The idea of the turrets was a good one, but perhaps a little too unforgiving. I liked the bouncy-spring dudes as well, so the enemy variety was a plus point. The under-powered jump and enemy respawns did make it a bit frustrating though. Overall some good ideas here which could be developed further |
| Sep 1 13:19:00 | 10m 00s | Wolf vs Jackalopes | Nice idea, I really liked the spites but think a few things could have helped a lot; such as a wolf animation and maybe a border of hedges round the play area. Trying to eat enough to live but not decimate the bunny population was definitely a good use of the evolution theme. |
| Sep 2 11:37:00 | 22h 18m | Cow (Game about evolution of the game) | Really nice presentation, first level is my favorite as well. Good work |
| Sep 2 11:41:00 | 4m 00s | EvoBit | Lovely game, well done. Platform movement was spot on, nice evolving graphics and fun too. that bit at the end where you had to run backwards made me go "aaahhh" but I just got through |
| Sep 5 19:30:00 | 79h 49m | Static | Interesting app; I enjoyed the brightness tool the most, thought you got some good effects with that. I drew a lot of flowers for some reason... |
| Sep 5 19:47:00 | 17m 00s | Cosmogonie | Really great atmosphere, a nice place to spend some time. Audio and visuals worked well together. Excellent overall. I liked the artsy approach but equally would love to play a more traditional game that looked and sounded like this |
| Sep 5 20:06:00 | 19m 00s | Total argument | Wow this was insane, but in a good way. Who doesn't enjoy sending a T-Rex to punch a nun in the face? Lots of content here, I think a mini-RTS with different units and tech-tree is very impressive in 72hrs. I like the theme too, but then I'm a Darwin extremist |
| Sep 5 20:15:00 | 9m 00s | Evolvsion | Nice graphics, I liked the changes in gameplay from level to level |
| Sep 5 20:22:00 | 7m 00s | Obsolete Upgrade | Cool idea, I liked the little text faces the computer made in the opening sequence. Beating up toasters was also fun. Every fitted together really well |
| Sep 5 20:44:00 | 22m 00s | Diverge | This was so awesome, played it to the end and enjoyed every second. The movement was solid and the idea behind evolving different abilities to get the stars was inspired (plus I found the easter egg, yes!). It was exactly right in terms of combining logic puzzles and platforming. Seriously, well done, top marks from me |
| Sep 5 20:56:00 | 12m 00s | Candevolution | Couldn't get past the fat guys, just too hard for me. Still I really liked the atmosphere, felt similar to the old single room platformers like Manic Miner. |
| Sep 10 20:03:00 | 119h 07m | Hoppy! | I thought it was an interesting idea, it was kind of satisfying to keep the little guy in the air with the jumps. Definitely agree with others that it was frustrating that all you could see was sky, then you'd land on some spikes. Can see a refined version of this being fun on a tablet or phone |
| Sep 11 12:46:00 | 16h 43m | The Adventure of Charles Starwin | I enjoyed playing this one, the particle effects were cool too |
| Sep 11 13:21:00 | 35m 00s | Complexitivity | Really nice audio/visual fell to this, very coherent. Nice idea as well, think it fits well with the theme |
| Sep 12 21:18:00 | 31h 57m | kinetic dream | I really enjoyed this one, played it for longer than a lot of the games I've tried. The minimalist style worked well, I thought the mood was good. Fun shooter overall, very nice work |
| Sep 12 21:35:00 | 17m 00s | Selectra | I got to the end boss but I was so powered up that it took ages to charge my shot, which was tough. Still overall fantastic game, one of favourites in terms of having a nice consistent visual style. |
| Sep 12 21:44:00 | 9m 00s | The Best Dinosaur | Interesting idea, I wish I wasn't so terrible so I could be the best dinosaur. I thought this showed some good game design, great imagination and a lot of humour. Nice work |
| Sep 12 21:52:00 | 8m 00s | Human 2.0 | Excellent graphical style and atmosphere, the ambient sounds really added a lot to this |
| Sep 12 21:58:00 | 6m 00s | Terra Tam: The World Warrior | So much imagination here, nice design too. I think my life is better with this in it, so thank you |
| Sep 12 22:05:00 | 7m 00s | Hunt'em! | Beautiful game, I kind of wanted more time to soak up the atmosphere. I think an expanded game with this setting and creature design would be fantastic, if you weren't running all the time there would be a real sense of wonder as you explored and discovered the creatures |
| Sep 12 22:20:00 | 15m 00s | Praepoch | Great little game, once I had the combat figured out I really enjoyed it. Got all the way to the end and appreciated the evolution story. I liked the visuals as well |
| Sep 12 22:53:00 | 33m 00s | Legacy Bird | Nice entry, really liked the graphics |
| Sep 12 23:00:00 | 7m 00s | LD24 X0ut | Cuuuuubes! This was a really solid and fun shooter, well implemented and a nice minimalist style. Great work |
| Sep 12 23:16:00 | 16m 00s | I Am A Tree. You Are Not. Ha Ha. | Wow, very imaginative, made me wish I had been a little less conventional with my entry. I thought this had a lot of atmosphere, and the humour/weirdness was just my sort of thing. Loved it |
| Sep 15 13:56:00 | 62h 40m | Boxy the Boxcat in Evolution Escapades | Great game, anything with cats in gets my vote. The laser eyes and top hats made me smile too, good work |
| Sep 17 19:13:00 | 53h 17m | Besugo | Always like games set in the ocean, I think it needs a bit more content but the sprites and audio are really good. You get extra points for me being a seabream and not just a generic fish! |
| Sep 17 19:25:00 | 12m 00s | the Evolution from zx81 | Good idea, way too hard for me but still cool. It made me smile, I liked the idea of racing the chameleon |
| Sep 17 19:40:00 | 15m 00s | Kill It | This made me happy and sad all at once, it does highlight some of our problems as a species, but with some humour. Nice little idea, and I think it fits the theme really well; human evolution is full of us just mindlessly killing things |
| Sep 17 19:47:00 | 7m 00s | Ludum Card Evolution | Think I needed more of a tutorial, I was a bit lost for a while, but a really interesting idea. Only card game I've seen so far |
| Sep 17 20:18:00 | 31m 00s | 2052 | Wow that was great, really captured the atmosphere of an oppressive dystopian state. |
| Sep 17 20:29:00 | 11m 00s | Infect | Nice idea, found it pretty hard though. Music was fantastic |
| Sep 17 20:51:00 | 22m 00s | Octogeddon | Absolutely brilliant, I really liked that death was just an experience and a chance to go again and better yourself. The upgrades really made sense as well. Great game |
| Sep 17 21:04:00 | 13m 00s | Upgrade | Very solid and playable platformer, the blocks lighting up was a nice visual touch, enjoyed playing this |
| Sep 17 21:15:00 | 11m 00s | Growth | I liked the top-down gameplay, the idea of choosing only 1 evolution was cool too |
| Sep 17 21:34:00 | 19m 00s | Fantasy Map Tactics | I'm a big map fan too, always spend ages looking through them when I'm reading a book so I can see exactly where the characters are. Anyway; so was it possible to select movements for all 3 bards and then end the turn, or could you only move 1 bard per turn? Overall I really enjoyed the game, I appreciated the chess aspect and like that you kept it simple |
| Sep 17 21:37:00 | 3m 00s | RUN RUN AMOEBA | Controls and difficulty destroyed me unfortunately, but I really liked the music |
| Sep 17 21:40:00 | 3m 00s | mintys | The concept and the audio gave this a nice atmosphere, I wasn't very good at it though; like real life my ideas seemed pretty good but my productivity was destroyed by playing video games... |
| Sep 17 21:53:00 | 13m 00s | Richard Dawkins' Magnificent Microcosm of Mechanically Mutational Evolution! | I liked the exploration nature of this, it was a strange place full of interesting things. Like others I was a bit put off but a lot of deaths early on, but the quicksave thing does help with that. Music was good and added to the feel of the game as well |
| Sep 17 22:12:00 | 19m 00s | The Singularity is Here! | So hard, I think your game was punishing me for the bad things I've done (how do you know about those?) Seriously this was great, a nice game experience with the extra polish; nice UI, menus, options etc. I really liked the Star Fox team aspect as well, good voice acting and overall characterisation. I always like games with distinctive characters, especially when they have slightly different stats or gameplay. |
| Sep 17 22:19:00 | 7m 00s | Prometheus | Quite difficult, but a nice game. I liked the terrain and the changing abilities |
| Sep 17 22:43:00 | 24m 00s | Ages of Irving | This is excellent, really good atmosphere only lacking some decent audio. The gameplay was difficult but very interesting, I had real fun trying to figure out how to handle each of the guys. I hope you keep working on this |
