LD46 — Keep it alive

Pet Protecc TD by Ithildin 2020-04-23T19:42:59Z

This game was fun to play! I loved the retro graphics and sfx. It was super stable, I experience no bugs at all, which is rare for a jam game, and I just wish there were some more levels. In terms of expanding on the idea, I'd be interested to see how it would play if the turrets were manned by blobs, so that the more turrets you placed, the more enemies you had to kill. Just an idea for how to get around the lack of difficulty after the first few seconds of each level.

Chicken Shuffle by helpcomputer 2020-04-23T19:12:20Z

A bit Mashy, but it was actually a lot of fun to play around with. It had a pretty solid minigame feel. Good entry!

FEED HOLE by Aj Jones 2020-04-23T18:17:03Z

Loved the game! There was a lot of content, the controls were fun, and the game itself had a really distinctive feel to it. Really enjoyed playing it, and would love to see a post-jam expansion. My only bit of critique would be that the hit detection can be a little buggy on the html version. Either way, fantastic submission, really enjoyed playing it.

It Came From Inside! by Ziamor 2020-04-23T03:14:39Z

This game is great! you nailed the feel perfectly, from the music, to the art, to the gameplay loop. I'd love to see an expanded version of this game with more levels and enemies. Awesome entry!

MitosiVilization by Olivier Millochau 2020-04-23T19:34:33Z

Solid Game! The bacteria can be a bit buggy sometimes, (I had a few crashes when interacting with the barracks), but otherwise it was really fun to play. Nice job!

Crossroads by gamebuilder 2020-04-23T02:56:06Z

Nice Entry! It really has atmosphere, and the story keeps you engaged through it. My only critique would be to perhaps make the map a bit smaller, or add a few more houses, the search can feel like it drags on sometimes. All in all though, great job!

Feed Me! by caeonosphere 2020-04-23T02:23:51Z

Loved this game! The art style and sound design were amazing, and it gave me the feeling of an experimental ps1/ps2 era game. In terms of suggestions, maybe add a pause menu or minimap? just some quality of life stuff. All in all, strong concept and great entry!

Survive: eat or be eaten by jondkoon 2020-04-23T02:35:23Z

Great Game! I loved the retro style, and the arcade-y feel definitely worked to its advantage. My only critique would be to vary the background tile a bit, as it can become straining on the eyes after a while. Nice entry!

Until Sunrise by Jishin 2020-04-23T00:14:59Z

Dude, this is an awesome game! The pixel art, 2D lighting, and music are great, and the gameplay loop is a lot of fun. As far as constructive criticism, I'd say maybe add more specificity as to what each upgrade does for the player, as well as making thew attack hitbox bigger (the controls can get a bit fiddly currently). Otherwise, I really loved this game, and give you props for making such a polished game in so short a time.

Stoke It ! - V1.3 by WegPast 2020-04-22T23:59:46Z

Nice Game! I thought that the pacing was fun and engaging, and the art was great, especially for such a short jam. My only advice on improvement would be to maybe incorporate the control scheme into a tutorial section perhaps? the intro help screen works fine, but a tutorial may be more engaging.

The Dragon's Curse by Aditya Kumar 2020-04-22T22:46:55Z

Great game! I really enjoyed the atmosphere you were able to infuse into the game over such a short time. My only bit of constructive criticism would be to adjust the UI to feel more skeuomorphic, like maybe using a scroll for the window outline? idk. Either way, great game guys.

Dungeon of Robots by GullynGames 2020-04-23T17:21:25Z

This game was some of the most fun I've had all jam. Would maybe like to see more intractability with the robot you're protecting though. otherwise, great entry!

Turtle Daddy by dummydojo 2020-04-23T03:03:14Z

Great Game! The gameplay loop was simple but engaging, the art and music is adorable, and the level of polish is crazy for a game jam. Awesome entry guys!

CrossWalk by WilliamCarter 2020-04-23T18:00:16Z

Hi all, Thank you so much for playing our game! It's the first game either of us have put out into the world, so we probably bit off more than we could chew, especially for a jam, but we had a lot of fun working on it, and we're super happy that you guys got some fun playing it.

We are thinking of doing a post-jam revision, so if you have any constructive criticisms or other advice, we'd love it hear it!

Thank you all again for playing!

@thedestoryer @edvard-sandquist

Thank you guys for playing our game! The controls are still pretty wonky, but we were wondering if you guys had any advice on a different control scheme we could use in a post-jam build? Thanks!

@jishin

Glad you enjoyed the concept! The game balance is definitely still off, and the buildings can be hard to control and unpredictable. The 3D was definitely a challenge for us. Neither of us are artists, so each building is made entirely of default unity cubes at different scales, rotations and transforms (I need to learn blender!)

@caeonosphere

Yes, we realized on the last day the most people would want to play it on the web (less download hassle), so we saved a buggy windows build and then branched off into a WebGL build which ended up being more stable by the end of the day. I'd definitely like to release a post-jam update of the game, and I'll stat keeping a changelog. The Github link shows some version control, but the commits don't always communicate what we did that well. Thank you so much for playing our game though! We'll make a stable Windows build post-jam for sure!

S.L.I.M.E.S. Division by Yoshify 2020-04-23T18:59:11Z

This game was super addicting. The mechanics felt solid and well thought out, the graphics felt very polished, and I ended up playing this game for far longer than I thought I would. My only critique would be that occasionally when building an auto missile or laser cannon, the building would spawn inside the planet. Also, I'd be interested to see how the game would feel if the slime population regenerated over time. Great entry!

Great Filter: Climate by EntropyMaximizer 2020-04-22T23:02:09Z

Awesome Game! The core mechanics seemed super simple at first, but the gameplay loop was pretty addicting, and walking the balance tightrope was a lot of fun, especially in the early game. The only thing id like to see added would just be an explanation of how each pillar affected funds, climate, etc. and more random events happening beyond just getting the renewable tech. Overall though, a ton of fun to play.

Life of a Homeless by Marcel Grolms 2020-04-23T02:01:51Z

Nice first game guys! Definitely feel your pain on the asset front, it takes forever to make assets. Your game has a fun and inventive idea behind it, and I'd love to see a version with maybe a win/lose condition and a few more obstacles. Congrats on your first Jam!

Just a Stroll by killy9999 2020-04-23T19:54:39Z

Loved the simple mechanics, engaging and rewarding combat, and awesome pixel art style. I love the arcade-y feel, so for possible improvements, maybe add a few extra maps? that would let the player experience some more variety without compromising the simplicity. In line with the arcade vibes though, maybe add a simple power-up? Like maybe the pigeons drop something that lets you kill two birds with one stone. Just throwing some ideas out there. Rock solid entry!

Yobuds by noahnewline 2020-04-23T02:11:35Z

Really fun game! I enjoyed the retro feel and the intuitive gameplay. It almost like I was playing a minigame from a fully fledged game, just by virtue of its cohesive style. great entry!
