couldnt get it to load

I love the idea of tearing apart the city and the "no-clip" style movement, that's fun! I'm not sure if it's my fault, but my cursor never locked or disappeared, so it was a bit distracting seeing my cursor fly around while I was playing. :laughing: If it wasn't already added, setting Cursor.LockState to Locked and Cursor.visible to false at the start of one of your scripts would get that out of the way. Nice job guys!

julienlussiez 2020-04-23 00:29

The idea to protect someone in the city is interesting. I've got a bug during the tutorial that makes the game crashing on the web version.

thedestoryer 2020-04-23 00:33

If the controls were a bit better, it would have been much more fun.

woob 2020-04-23 00:35

Hey there, so you also lost your virginity on LD46 =), great concept, game was a few times buggy for me but i liked the movement and the camera a lot, totaly unusual =D. Hope to see you on the next jam =D!

edvard-sandquist 2020-04-23 00:56

Really work here! Really like the style and the idea. The controls where a little bit hard to master though. But otherwise really really cool game! Great work!

james-dunlap 2020-04-23 01:07

Interesting take on the theme. Good work for your first entry.

jishin 2020-04-23 03:39

Nice physics and interesting concept! I found out that the little man is better left without me messing with the city :laughing: Anyway, for a first work it looks pretty nice, I would be scared doing something 3D in 72 hours! Well done, keep polishing it!

caeonosphere 2020-04-23 07:44

Hmmm... whenever I start the game, several buildings are intersecting and the physics is freaking out... and the little man is nowhere to be found! I like the concept of protecting a pedestrian... now where's that dude at?

EDIT: Alright, I was able to play the HTML5 version. Looks like the Windows build is old? You should also have a changelog so people know what you did before and after the deadline!

Hi all, Thank you so much for playing our game! It's the first game either of us have put out into the world, so we probably bit off more than we could chew, especially for a jam, but we had a lot of fun working on it, and we're super happy that you guys got some fun playing it.

We are thinking of doing a post-jam revision, so if you have any constructive criticisms or other advice, we'd love it hear it!

Thank you all again for playing!

@thedestoryer @edvard-sandquist

Thank you guys for playing our game! The controls are still pretty wonky, but we were wondering if you guys had any advice on a different control scheme we could use in a post-jam build? Thanks!

@jishin

Glad you enjoyed the concept! The game balance is definitely still off, and the buildings can be hard to control and unpredictable. The 3D was definitely a challenge for us. Neither of us are artists, so each building is made entirely of default unity cubes at different scales, rotations and transforms (I need to learn blender!)

@caeonosphere

Yes, we realized on the last day the most people would want to play it on the web (less download hassle), so we saved a buggy windows build and then branched off into a WebGL build which ended up being more stable by the end of the day. I'd definitely like to release a post-jam update of the game, and I'll stat keeping a changelog. The Github link shows some version control, but the commits don't always communicate what we did that well. Thank you so much for playing our game though! We'll make a stable Windows build post-jam for sure!

big-evil-corporation 2020-04-23 20:29

Excellent concept, like taking care of a single old Lemming! Controls need a lot of work but you're on to something here.

tadej 2020-04-23 20:52

Very buggy, but looks like an interesting concept. If you make some post jam fixes, I'd happily try it again.

Just a thought - maybe it would be easier to control buildings if you selected them with a mouse click and then move and rotate them with a keyboard?

Also it would be nice to have a restart button when you lose the game.

madbarron 2020-04-23 21:07

Cool idea, but needs some work. If you fix some bugs and make it more playable, let me know and I'll rate it again. As it is, I couldn't see the destination and getting anything to work was kind of miserable :-/

ithildin 2020-04-25 00:58

The concept sounds brilliant and graphics are simple but look quite good, but controls at the moment make playing really hard :sweat_smile:

Since I can still imagine them being tricky because of the idea itself, I was thinking that once you get the bugs out of the way it might be cool to keep the tutorial section (nice addition, btw) as a safe environment where you just play around moving buildings for a while without having to worry about the character.

It's a very promising idea for your first LD, and I'm sure you can polish it into something cool. In any case, good job!

robowarrior1982 2020-04-25 09:25

I tested the HTML5 VERSION and i instantly download the windows version because the HTML5 version is a bit laggy and mouse sensitive is too low. I like the idea, but there are lot of problems. I tested the tutorial, and i can't quit that (used ALT+F4), i tryed the game, and when i started the buildings fell because of the physics that's really fun but, where was the guy ? I saw the point where to go but not the guy. So your idea is very good, and fun but please fix these problems.CITY_CARNAGE.jpg

russ-moonbase 2020-04-25 19:54

Pretty fun game. I wish I had some way to see what building I'm clicking (maybe showing the mouse) and then dropping the building a little sooner. This game was challenging!

mabrax 2020-04-27 21:37

Cool idea, but I couldn't fully enjoy it because of the bugs. There was no music or sound either. I liked the low poly graphics. You should definitely fix the bugs and add some sounds ;D. Good work!

bitdecay 2020-05-01 06:36

The premise here is pretty funny. Like a god game where you're trying to protect man from mankind. I did get killed by unknown objects a couple times, so I wasn't able to beat it, but did have some fun along the way. A cursor might make the UX a little cleaner so you can know for sure what you're picking up and where you're putting it down and such.

slurp1e 2020-05-08 15:54

The concept is great but there are a lot of major bugs .. interesting idea , good work tho :D

duck-reaction 2020-05-11 15:18

This game makes me laugh :laughing:. The idea is very fun. Make the game more juicy by adding effect. Create a better caracter with animations and the game will be perfect.

Good job :thumbsup:
