Man I loves me some Battletoads. I'd have liked to see dashing on a button press instead of a double tap. Also would have been nice to allow the player to dash in the opposite direction while still dashing (or near the end of the dash). Overall a lot of fun!
As others have said I really like your core mechanic. If the collisions were a little polished and the art a little stronger I think you could have a fantastic game here.
