LD38 — A Small World

Adrift Under a Sunless Sky by slam-nine 2017-05-16T19:06:38Z

Ok, so yeah, its pretty linear, step 3 i discovered accidentally, but was a nice idea. mostly everything looked nice, as you said, biggest problem is lack of content, its more like a poc, but i completed it, which always makes me a little happy :D

Stardust - A space adventure by shiitman 2017-05-16T18:51:26Z

I really like this, this is how i wish i could protoype most of my games, but i cannot draw, but if i could, this is what i would aspire to. lots of fun.

Possible bug, i came back to the ship, the computer broke the wall and said i could have some tape, but no tape appeared, and then i think i accidentally completed the game. other than that really smooth, and the walking animations i thought we very well done.

Acquaintances by RodrigoNietiedt 2017-05-16T19:40:18Z

Really good concept and take on the theme. wish i could find the last 3 achievements. game flows really well, no voice breakage when i go slap happy on some one. all in all, really well done, hard to find anything negative to say at all, other than i noticed that sometimes the faces of ppl would show through anyone standing in front before they started fading, but its over so quick, and only noticable when you do go cray cray and mass click.

awesome job

edit: the credit screen has no names? if there is a way to make them show, im just not getting it.

The Little Llama by Seyvaq Singh 2017-05-05T00:09:15Z

Llamas are awesome! as mentioned, water tiles and controls are a little clunky, hope to see more mechanics added, but still, nice layout, easy to grasp, relaxing music, and soft blocky llamas! :D

Immortal's Heart Defender by Gridord 2017-05-04T23:36:23Z

Quite enjoyed it, the game got hard quite quickly, but dialog text was clear and a nice size and the keyboard mouse combo worked well together, might have made the aiming too easy if anything, but then keeping track of the mouse button clicks probably evened that out too.

Island Attack by turbo 2017-05-16T19:27:58Z

Nice implementation of a classic games, as said, missing sound effects (i made up for it by making mouth noises), but graphics are nice, gameplay is smooth, one thing i did notice tho was that the ai could do with leading its target as i flew along pretty low at the same height for ages watching all the rockets fire at me from in front but aimed at my back so i was never in any danger of being hit.

still fun, hope to see more updates for it soon

Stuck on a Small World by Dan Violet Sagmiller 2017-05-04T23:55:52Z

Thought i was going to enjoy this game, but i gotta admit, i couldnt actually find the first one, i know that probably says more about my stellar cartography skills but still. had there been a zoom component to it too i would have deemed it impossible. maybe add some colours for people like me? still, awesomes concept, wish i could have followed it all the way through.

Quaternion War! by Nanofus 2017-05-05T00:16:43Z

Very fun :D mouse control seemed insanely sensitive to me, but gameplay was good and smooth and fun, just blasting away. also had the issue with the walls sometimes getting in the way at the worst possible time. big red laser blocks, for some reason i didnt cotton on that they were shots given how my own weaponry looked, got mobbed a few times but still, overall, lots of fun, nice one.

S.A.V.E.🐣 by Noval33t 2017-05-16T19:19:23Z

Flows well, completion text could do with hanging for a little longer as i sometimes had trouble seeing the context "message" straight away, and the bear one is impossible unless it pops up last it seems? otherwise, very clean, consistent and if the tempo of the music isnt slowly increasing then the game is making me feel like it is at least :D enjoyed playing

Prismaze by BruReale 2017-05-04T23:47:11Z

Colour effects were nice, easy to grasp concept. Cant turn the camera fully around, which caused me to move the mouse out of the play area quite often. Good maze design, fading colours were calming to look at. having the floor black and the top of the walls black meant at some angles i couldnt see the entrances, if this was intentional, then very nice, if not, very annoying :D good game.

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Red Is Faster by rivFox 2017-12-08T00:14:45Z

hard to guage when you needed to pick up fuel, seemed to toggle having fuel more than the amount given, i drove through quite a few in a line and came out with a bit, but normally when there were 2 in a row, one would empty me, the other give me fuel, if i hit odd clumps, no fuel. could also do with a quit button, was quite amusing trying to jump corners, the graphics were nice and clean too.

You God Mail by west 2017-12-07T23:14:18Z

i love the concept, at first it reminded me of Bruce Almighty till i found the minimise button. i like the windowed interface too, the game could have used more polish however,

bugs: - at my aspect ratio the tutorial text is visible on the left of the screen and half obscures the godos (he he!) button. - at first i didnt realise that i had changed month, and skipped a few, so some sort of indicator might be appropriate there

ps - loved the traveller email!, poor john tho

You God Mail by west 2017-12-08T09:37:31Z

@west lol, i hope you enjoyed the movie, you see why i made the link based on the email screen alone, especially the buttons! the new mails notification is a good idea! i didnt notice the village change (might be cos i never hit any thresholds) but another quick thought would be to maybe change that like black and white would make your temple more disney / gothic depending on your karma, and maybe adding in ppl as the pop changes, or upgrading a temple image based on followers would be a nice touch (if stuff like this is already in there, then please ignore me, sadly i never got to more than 100 followers)

ps i played again and this time i was brave and tentatively denied the traveller (i never did before cos i know his pain) fortunately it didnt go as i expected.

Get Wasted! by Newton 2017-12-07T20:57:13Z

Awesome game, so fun yet so simple! well done with the effects, the staggering caught me out once or twice towards the end and took me a while to see properly after, so very effective! couldnt find any bugs either so kudos to you.

Aliens! by Funnyguy77 2017-12-07T23:45:31Z

Nice little game, shame i couldnt play the final version as its not final, i wont point out the bugs.

jumping off the ledges would be nice, and maybe different spawn speeds so you dont get instaswamped needs an exit/quit/restart button, i accidently lauched it full screen and coulnt get out

atmosphere of the room was nice, liging effect were good, the text nice and clear the differing end game clips were very nice, but over amped :D

SpaceBallz by The Triumvirate 2017-12-07T22:05:29Z

music is stuck in my head :D fun game. teeny planets are hard! i quite liked the increasing spin depending on how close you are to a supernova. couldnt see any bugs either, nice one.

Fluffballs by WikidBotta 2017-12-07T20:08:45Z

Wow, what a pretty game and sound was really good too!

first unmentioned bugs: (cos i like to end on the good) - the first wall to the left has no collider, and you can walk straight under the level (although you cant complete the game), you have to walk a little to the right first to get the camera to follow you left btw - i managed to "land" on the side a few of the smaller platform blocks, and i think that caused me to be able to multi jump and i accidentally jumped straight off the top of the screen. - maybe a teeny bit more instruction, i also went the collect them all route, thinking it was about ordering the pickups in the right order to get them all in the time limit given. also i wanna know how the end screen came about, and why she was acting weird this morning. - maybe a mute button for when you are in chat :D

now the good: - pretty graphics, like really pretty graphics! (we are a team of 3 devs so this might not be objective) - lovely sound - good level of difficulty, getting balance right is hard - awww kitties! - you used the theme, i like when ppl use the theme and not one of the 16 chosen a few days before cos hmmmmm - all in all well put together i thought, and i completed it so yay!

As mentioned the game fail screen might just be a tad harsh for a family audience (but I liked it), and the change of the start screen after completion was a very nice touch.

ICTOAN by devsaur 2017-12-07T21:50:41Z

Awesome effects, really purdy graphics and i love the boolean logic puzzles, having the levels change on amount held was pure evil, but really clever

findMyself by yellow attic 2017-12-07T23:30:18Z

I really liked the graphics, the whole paper drawn concept in fact, and the visual reveal effect was nice, i saw the message about level 3, but i couldnt get rid of it to play level 2, which is a shame as it looked like it would have been a nice little puzzle game

LD55 — Summoning

Lorem Ipsummon by Hugimugi7 2024-05-01T21:17:07Z

So many meta comments! I love it. Didnt realise how badly my platformer skills had degraded. Only bug i experienced was dieing with a word being dragged left it chasing my mouse after i had spawned until the next word i picked up, otherwise a very well polished game.

Worm Walk by Verbante 2024-04-21T19:13:29Z

For 3 hours that was pretty impressive indeed. Managed to make it to x finally. Music reminded me of some of those early arcade games. Very enjoyable.

Boulder Blocker by Cody Holt 2024-04-22T22:57:36Z

I've played worse android games! Brilliant work for a weekend. Once the boulders started bouncing against each other i had to switch my play style, kept me on my toes for sure. Would like to have seen the thresholds for each star, and whilst i do like switching up the top star style, i honestly thought i was getting 2 start till i actually got two stars and could see the difference, the sound effect probably contributed the most as it has one of those retro wa wa wa descending feels to it.

Star Seed: Apocalypse by paloobi 2024-04-21T22:50:41Z

Loved exploring the world and defending myself from the monsters, found a few big white blocks and died once or twice to enemies on the side i entered from but otherwise looks like a solid start to a fun game. Art is amazing.

Party Wizard by braktheman 2024-04-21T18:43:40Z

That was a great little game. loved the humor and the style, those are exactly the kind of requests i would expect from people too, with about the right kind of time before they complain! Wizard responses made me laugh several times.

Potential things to add: - I had no idea what a glizzy was, and the 10 x 4 didnt seem to match any of the pictures i got for it, i was thinking maybe add a menu on the back wall, but then i suppose that defeats the point of it being anything. - Not sure if you could add light effects from the party over the top, might make some of the pictographs harder to decipher with disco lights getting in the way, or a smoke machine. - Themed parties with the option to smite / frog anyone who requests something off theme. - Leaderboard, this so needs a leaderboard, maybe storing the wizards last words against each for the laffs.

How to summon your lost dog from the space between spaces by SodaGummy 2024-04-21T18:23:03Z

That was fun! Looking for my dog in L-Space. Intro art made me smile at the book titles.

Suggested Improvements: - I liked the movement mechanic, even if it got stuck a lot, although for me it was more like launching off the surface perpendicular rather than against local gravity, maybe take angle from player location to object center of mass and use that for the launch direction? - remove the bullets from being gravity objects, once or twice i managed to get stuck on a bullet. - for me the health bar did not show on the embedded version nor did the audio work if there was any.

Type My Name by Danigabe 2024-05-01T19:01:33Z

Just amazing, 3d yet looks like drawing, short sharp sounds and of course the intro! The only thing i can see that might be an issue is i get the time in the score screen as HH:MM:S not HH:MM:SS. Top marks!

Jimmy the Wizard vs the Meaty Mushrooms by alexsmith531 2024-05-01T19:21:09Z

Very enjoyable, when the mushrooms got "meaty" i laughed out loud. Didnt quite get to the end, almost but then couldnt get past the initial hump again. I managed to get stuck on the bottom once or twice somehow, and sometimes managed to get both text prompts to appear at the same time overlapping each other, but really well polished, specially for a first jam. Well done.

Soul Pact by SesMiRe 2024-04-21T18:05:55Z

Loved the art style and feel. Worked my way through the first room after a few tries, but couldnt progress anywhere on the second level. Intro music was great. Loved the escape room flashbacks it gave me :D

Notes for polish: - control scheme switches between room 1 and 2, 1 being E and 2 being left mouse which confused me at first - get too close to things and the camera sort of clips through them - jumping as one character makes the other character flinch - audio glitch as music loops - i love puzzles, but i dont like having to resort to spamming, which i had to do in this game because i wasnt sure if i was solving the right way or not.

Seriously loved the visuals tho, that style would look good even in 20 years time.

Tech Raider by BreakfastGun 2024-05-01T19:41:21Z

This felt a lot like a lot of the early sega game i played as a kid. Very nice. Was unclear as to what some of the abilites did however. I also had issues with some of the coloured dot pickups, but couldnt work out if that was a game mechanic or not as i later could. Music was nice and old school too. Lots of fun.
