Simple to play, kinda a classic mechanic.
Perhaps you could have worked the theme into it more. Eg: Have a countdown timer, when it gets to zero its game over. Then every time you pick a colour successfully, the timer gets extra time added. If you pick a wrong colour, the timer gets a penalty amount deducted. The goal being to keep picking colours correctly, keep adding time, and lasting as long as possible. Hmmm, I wonder though if you could have reworked it into a "count-up timer". eg some steam is building up inside a big boiler, you have to keep hitting the colours to let steam/pressure out, but eventually it will explode.

@wavertron Thanks for the feedback. Great idea with that countdown timer!
Simple but effective idea. I could see myself playing this on my phone if I was very bored. The visuals are good, but I think the indicator arrow thing could be replaced by something more punchy, for example by making the section glow or something.
FYI there appears to be an issue where both the background and some sections of the circle turn black when you retry many times, making the game impossible to play

@dennis-magnusson Thanks for the feedback. I will check this issue.

Dear mixon00,
I've played your Game. It's simple, but that's not a bad thing. Because it's really fun.
The only thing, that annoyed me, was that the contrast was sometime to little. It was difficult to see the desired color.
But all things considered, you did a great job and you can be proud of yourself.
With best regards Max

This would be a great mobile game. Nice, simple and clean. Good job.

@taffaz Thanks for the feedback.
I can see myself getting addicted to this fast. Mirroring what everyone else said, this would make a fantastic phone game, just something to mindlessly tap away at in the best way possible. I also ran into the black screen glitch like @dennis-magnusson, made it impossible to continue. I think I would have liked to see some form of pattern or colour-blind mode, as the colours sometimes blended into each other a bit too much, but outside of that this was so simple in the best way possible. Loved it

@porcus-pie Thanks for the feedback. It's a very good idea to adapt the game for colorblind people. I'll try to add this.
Nice concept and cool art style. I did have problems with some elements disappearing after a few retries though - usually the background is first to disappear, then after another retry colours on the clock start to go missing, and then finally only the clock hand is visible. Also, it would be helpful to have colours be more visually distinct from each other and the background - at one point I had a dark blue picker hiding on a dark blue triangle and it took me a while to figure out the colour I needed.
I could see this being adapted to a casual mobile game quite easily if you wanted to take it down that route. Nice work.

@dan-livings Thanks for the feedback. I am working on this problem with colors. I will also work on the color palette to make the colors more different from each other.

Great work! This was one of those games where as soon as I hit the first couple of colors I said to myself "uh oh..." as the inevitability of my demise immediately became apparent. I played quite a few runs trying to beat my previous best score, so it definitely has the hook. Very clean presentation as well! I think it would have really benefited from some sound effects and music but totally understand how the time constraints could have kept those out. Great job!

Very re-playable, would be good on mobile :) Got to beat that highscore!

Super addictive gameplay, would work really well as a mobile game with a bit more polish :D The graphics are really nice and I love how the backgrounds are different each time. I managed to break the background so it was just black (not entirely sure how) but that was the only bug I found. Some more substance when you press space would be cool (like screenshake or time slowing for half a second) and some sound + music. Other than those little things this is a perfect little addictive game, so well done!! :D

Very cool! As everyone said, I spent way more time on it than I should have.
One of the ways to expand on the jam's theme would be to make a reference to the Doomsday Clock: spin for too long and you end up at "midnight", that would make for an alternate losing condition.

I ran into a weird bug that blacked out the game, but I was having fun with it.
The simple mechanic, and clean graphics make it pretty appealing. Sometimes I ran into backgrounds that were **TOO** similar to the game colours making it confusing. Using a different pallet for the background vs game colours might be useful.
I could see it being popular on mobile with some extra juice.
It's a good game.
Enjoyable simple game! I really like playing "fidget games" on my phone when I'm stressed, and honestly, I'd love to play this one. I switched to mobile after playing it on desktop and was sad to realize I couldn't play it with a tap. If you were to do a mobile build of this game, I'd even probably pay a few bucks for it, it's really satisfying--especially if there's adjustable difficulty level! Please ping me if you do :)
Nice little concept which you make for a great hypercasual mobile game, as others have mentioned. I did run into the same issues, with some colors being black and the pointer not being visible anymore, and at one time I launched the game but nothing happened when pressing space. I also think it could be great if you added visual feedback like light effects when hitting the correct spot and sound effects. Other than that, nice entry, clean execution, great job

the core mechanic is there (and its decent! I got at 12), but I think you can bring up the 'feel' of the game by adding more effects, screen shake, sound, etc. Still, a decent little experiance
Simple but really caching and fun mechanics. The simple art looks good too. Really like the difficulty curve. It starts simple but it quickly becomes pretty chalenging. The best score I've got is 19.
I like the mechanics and I LOVE the art! It is a really satisfying game to play! Great job !
Really easy to pick up and play! I liked the difficulty progression but perhaps it could have more substance like audio. Overall pretty cool though! Screenshot 2022-04-04 181325.png

Space to restart would make this game addictive. Some of the color combinations with the backgrounds are hard to see.
The perfect combination of simple and fun. I feel like this game would be a perfect fit for mobile!
Would be nice if there was some kind of reward for hitting your marks faster, rather than letting the clock spin for as long as you want.

One of those games that just keeps you hooked because you KNOW you can beat your previous score haha.
Easy to learn, abstract graphics, good font. A lot of things I like. A small game but executed very well. Good job!

My top score was 15!! I love fun arcade games like this and things based on timing! It's obvious you will eventually lose weather that be something of your own failing you.. your eyes... your hands...
Suuuper fun

Nice simple idea well executed! It feels like there should be bonus points for hitting an area on the first pass rather than letting the clock hand keep going round, that was the way I was instinctively playing it before I realised I could just wait to get the right timing, that could be a nice risk/reward element to add :)

Simple idea but Efficient! Well done! The only fear I have is the colors that mix with the background. But otherwise frankly bravo!
The perfect little mobile game!
PS : My best is 17 haha. Color_Clock-Point.JPG

I managed to get 17 points :) This was amazingly addictive! This is one of those games that you can accidentally end up playing for way longer than you intended, simply because it is so easy to start another round :P It looks really stylish and consistent, so great job with that! (It is a shame there are no sounds, but you probable know this :P )
The few bits of criticism I have have to do with the colors. Sometimes it was very difficult to differentiate two colors. I once had three yellow ones next to each other, and it was very hard to see where one box ended and the other began. Maybe you can have it so there will always be a box with another color in between? Another point has to do with the marker that shows which box you need to hit. This one was also a bit hard to see against the background sometimes, and might deserve to stand out a bit more in my opinion.
But those are really just minor points, great job with this game! A very simple gameplay loop, but polished very well! Thanks a lot for making this, it was great fun :D

Really simple and addictive! It's got the "one more time" feeling! I really like it, great work!
Simple concept that is fun to play! I think that Color Clock would fit well as a mobile game!
Well done!
Oh this is real real hard ... and also addictive when you start getting the hang of it

I don't have enought skill to play this game
On mobile, this game can be a time sink  Great game!

Simple, but well executed idea. I like the subtile moving background. For my taste the difficulty curve could have been a tad less steep after the first few points, but still you hit a pretty good difficulty nonetheless.

I am with Evertron here. The gameplay is super easy to pick-up, but it would make a lot of difference if you had a countdown timer and each time you missed some more time was deducted and when you nailed it, you would get some time back
