Neat idea, the isometric look's charming, but gets pretty overwhelming right off the bat. Starting off with a smaller area and less severe time constraints, and maybe ramping that up over time (or maybe just a plain difficulty selection) could definitely help. Score: Had a good time/10

Cool idea! I love the art. I like that there was an event for collisions :') I just had to see, A rotation/ selection option for the tiles placed might be a good way to expand on this game if you feel like taking it further after ludum. Great submission!
Nice puzzle game! I really enjoyed it. I would appreciate getting a bit fewer truly useless puzzle pieces, I'm not sure whether I could even have prevented losing as I kept getting puzzle pieces that just didn't help moving a certain car. I agree with Mook that the option to rotate would be a great addition, maybe limit it a bit if it gets too easy. I enjoyed how fast the cars moved when I got two in a circle :)

I agree that having piece rotation would be nice. I especially liked the sound effects being voice acted, always a fan. Also the graphics were really nice!

At first it was hard for me to understand how to put the roads but then well. Still, it's a bit hard for me to control. Overall, very good game!

At first it was hard to understand the mechanism of the game. After that it was fun to play. Some rotation would be nice.

I like it but I think the time between drops is too short. Without time to think I ended playing randomly. Nevertheless, great game and sound effects.
this is oddly unsettling

It's very hard to get your head around. Maybe the game could start off with an empty field and you could go from there. Also the multiple cars add to the confusion. Other than that it's a very interesting idea.
nice twist on the pipemania idea, but a bit hard to play IMO, Cheers Arend
Thaks a lot for your feedback!! I added bigger pieces at the end of the time we have for the compo and I think this made the game more complex that I intended to.
It was my first time with Godot and have to focus in solving all the bugs I have with the game logic that I did not pay attention to other details.
I really have fun doing this!

RoadFinished.PNG Guess I won't score a lot, but still cannot lose ? Fun game, sometimes hard to know where a car want to go if its road section changes.
Haha. Good placement of pieces @shampop!!
Interesting puzzle game! I like the voice acting haha. It's a little confusing at first (and particularly hard but maybe this is just me being dumb ), and I agree with everyone else regarding the possibility to rotate pieces.
The graphics are lovely and you get points for creativity. Good job!

Nice game, having to replace multiple tiles at once really makes it interesting! I had an issue where the sounds came only from the left but the sounds themselves were fun :D

Innovative idea. Thanks for the game!

The idea is really cool and fits the theme well. It's kinda hard to tell how the cars are oriented, so someties you place a road that isn't traveled by the car because it was going in the opposite direction. The perspective seems a bit off too. The game is promising and could be improved a lot, nice job!

Thanks for the nice puzzle game! Took me a few minutes to figure out wtf was going on, then another few minutes to think of a "perfect" solution, then realizing that my perfect solution wasn't working in the corners so I had to shift everything by one, but eventually I got it :D only took me 60k in score to get there lol
I really enjoyed it, good stuff!

Interesting game, cool to see the theme taking people to such different places! I am not a super fan of puzzle (to put it mildly :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:), so take this into account when reading my next comments/suggestions:
* It took me some time to understand the game, even after reading the instructions. I detail some of the reasons below. * It was not always immediately obvious which direction each car was pointing to. * I wasn't clear how much each car would run every "turn". I was half-expecting they moving one tile per turn, took me a while to get it. (Animating the movement of the cars would help a lot, I think). * The time limit felt overwhelming at first. Maybe start with a higher time limit and decrease it gradually? Or even no limit at all for the first few turns. * I liked the use of sound to alert that a car is overheating. * I could not strategize too much. The selection of road pieces felt too random, and the time limit limited my ability to plan with the "next road pieces" display. (Again, my lack of experience and taste for puzzles probably contributed to this!)
But a nice cute game it is! Thanks for trying these different ideas!
Wow @lmb. Thanks a lot for the feedback!! I agree that the cars with the perspective are a bit too small.
I think adding some animations will help as you pointed out (e.g. smoke from the exhaust pipes). I thought adding them during the compo but I did not find the time to do it at the end.
I am really grateful of all the feedback you are giving. I think I can use this to improve the game a lot!

Great game! Interesting idea, maybe it's a bit hard to differentiate the orientation of the cars, but it's cool that there is a sound to alert you when a car is overheating. Very fun!
That's an unexpected take on a tetris-like game! Looks pretty nice too and sfx are hilarious :)
It was a bit hard to figure out what's going on sometimes and why a certain car wouldn't move. Still a very nice job for a compo!
I was streaming my playthrough of your game! Here's a recording in case you'd like to see it https://youtu.be/hPPKMGZGGDs
Yeah @caudatecoder . Thanks for playing my game and take some time to understand whats going on. Of course I liked it! After seeing you struggle with the game I will try to simplify it XD. Cursor (Spanish) are arrow keys :)
Good work on this one. Solid execution! As previously mentioned - animations would have added a lot in terms of understanding where the cars were headed from/to. But I understand that it would have been quite time consuming
This was a fun game! The sound effects were cute. Sometimes I just didn't get the piece I needed, but I guess I should have planned ahead better. I think some simple animations (like tiles bouncing into place, cars scooting along) would be charming. I got about 2800 points before I got overwhelmed. Great work!
Cool little puzzle game! Took me a little bit to understand the mechanics, but I had fun once I did. As others have said, animations and piece rotation would be great additions. I _think_ my final score is pretty good.

Pretty fun game! I did find it a bit confusing at first, but after I got the hang of it it made sense. If there's one thing I'd change, it would be to add in mouse or touchscreen control, if the user has one of those.

That was fun. Took a while to figure it out though. An issue was it was hard to tell which way the cars were facing. I also sometimes got the overheat warning sound but no cars were orange. I managed to trap one in a loop! I stopped playing after my score reached 75310.

Trapping a car in a loop is hilarious. :D Took a bit to figure out what the heck was going on, but was interesting once I got a hang of it. Also, always nice to see other Godot entries.
Yep @epb9000 and @someone. When I was programming the logic, I realized you can enclose cars in a loop to boost the score. Initially I thought to limit it by not allowing the cars to move in the same tile twice among piece drops. In the end, I left this "feature" because I really liked it and it is very meritorious to actually do it.
Thanks for playing the game!

Nice job! This scores big points for originality and innovation. I absolutely love Tetris, and this game sort of flexes those same spatial brain muscles. It's very intuitive to pick up the basics but there is a surprising amount of depth in the strategy. Like others have mentioned, rotating the pieces and perhaps being able to bank 1 piece would only add to that depth of strategy. Really solid Compo game, well done!

Really nice idea for a game. Love the game mechanics. As others pointed also out, rotation and/or selection from a few available options for a tile would be a nice addition. Anyway, good job!

I got 1180! I didn't notice a car in the corner was overheating. Overall I liked that i could kind of figure out how to play just by looking and seeing how the tiles were placed. I could see the gameplay getting ramped up with different kinds of roads or vehicles. nice job!
Seems like an interesting concept, but I couldn't seem to figure out what the "Cursor keys" are in order to move where the roads fall. Even had I known though, I think the speed at which they were falling was quite high to begin with considering how much information you need to process for different configurations of the tiles that are being replaced.
Nice idea! Played for a bit. It was a bit hard to see where the cars were going. I wish the pieces were somehow less random so you could get the satisfaction of building a nice road. Also the cars traveled way too fast! Funny sounds :)

A fun puzzler! Moving car intersections as a mechanic is always a fun idea. This one was a little confusing at first, especially given the short time you have before the tile is placed automatically, but after one or two playthroughs it becomes easy enough.
I've managed to get a car stuck in a roundabout. :D
