Beautiful game! Love the character art and all the animations and effects you have. The sound effects and music really match the mood (love the enemy growls). Gameplay is entertaining- who doesn't like lighting things on fire? Great work!

This game is very different from the other games where you had to keep the fire alive, this one is so much fun to play, the art is great, the audio, this game is so polished, its hard to believe this was made in three days. One criticism I have is: I found it very hard to control the fire ball throw. Other than that, great job and keep up the good work.

Things I liked: Very good art style, I thought the audio fit the game well. I truly found it fun, probably the longest time I have spent on a game here on LD. Things I disliked, animations were a little jittery, but perhaps that's the art style. It took a little while for the game to get going, I almost quit before it started. Perhaps a little faster start would have been nice.

this is great, the fire really "feels" alive; beautiful art. a really sinister atmosphere! great short game. it took me 3 restarts to realize you needed to pick up the planks to continue.
Freaking Amazing! Prettiest game I have played so far, also my favorite! I feel like this would be more fun on a controller, since it would be easier to aim the fireballs.

I really liked it! It was fun to venture further out to get crystals, knowing you still had to protect your fire. Went from exploration to chaotic adventure. Aiming the fire was a little tricky and I didn't fully understand the mechanic of which one I'd throw and how to make the tree-towers near the end.

Its hard to believe this was made in one weekend. The level of polish is insane, I especially loved the sound design. Going from being intimidated by strange noises in the woods to a literal god feels incredible. I don't thing there is anything I could find to critique, especially considering the development time. Good job!

5/5 CONGRATULATIONS!! BRUTAL! Give them the 20000 dolars! This game IS IT. This is what I call a complete experience in videogames. The graphics, the music, the "bbrlarblarblgh" are all just perfect. This game really caught me. It's all so well knited thogether (applause emoji)

I'm on a mac, so I tried loading up the source code in the [construct 3 editor](https://editor.construct.net/) and to my surprise it just worked! (despite a warning about it being built for construct 2).
I'm glad I did because this game is FUN. Such satisfying juice, cool sounds, great music, the graphics and lighting are top notch. Hard to believe this was done in 3 days, well done
Thx @jordwest , I guess that we could come up with a mac build. Please try to imagine that my dirty code is wonderfully polished.

Really well done... super atmospheric and a very enjoyable game loop. Flinging fireballs everywhere was pretty fun.

Oh no, I failed at 99%. The game is a bit frustrating because when we start being overwhelmed we do not have many options to save the situation. It is also hard to aim correctly when firing balls.
However, the graphics are great and the sound design is amazing, another great entry! Well done!
Great entry, definitely something to aspire towards. I am in love with the sound design as well as the fire sprites. :smile: Well done!

The lighting and shadows were really well done. Gameplay was also easy to pick up, and I didn't have any trouble beating the game. Mood was very atmospheric. Overall I loved it!

Amazing graphics and gameplay. Any reason why you included the smash with the feet attack? I mean, is it better or different in any way to the fire attack?

@kkrac - The kick is better at hitting enemies that are grouped up. But honestly we had plans for limiting the use of fireballs at the start, making the kick more important... but in the end it was so fun to shoot we just sorta went nuts with it.

extremely polished, by far this is my fav entry!
Really cool game! The aesthetics are great, the lighting mechanic is very interesting, intriguing what is waiting in the darkness. I think you played well with that, already setting this up in the beginning. The power progression felt amazing! I also enjoyed very much that it was not too hard and about making the player lose the game, instead giving a nice yet challenging experience. It was also very clear in what and how to do, i didn't read anything beforehand. Great game, my personal favorite so far!
If fireball discussion is rolling, just as an idea: The "rush" comes from leaving the fire and the kick attack gets less useful with the great fireballs. Fireballs are great to use, i wouldn't diminish those. But the magician enemies (or some other type) could repel or absorb the fireballs, necessitating a kick approach. Would help the kick usefulness and be another reason to leave the center, as tacitcal decision. The kick could also be stronger, one-hitting the medium guys (maybe just after one of the upgrades).

Ok this was really good, the atmosphere with all of the sounds was crazy and the visuals were perfect. As short as it was i would really like to play more.
