Really fun concept! Nice "music maker" implementation!

Really fun concept! Nice "music maker" implementation!
Hahaha, this game is excellent! I haven't quite played a puzzle game with a management system like this, and it got pretty challenging in a fun way. I love the topic and the humour too. Great work!
very nice idea, and executed really well! takes a bit to get the hang of but when you do its a fun game!
This was the most fun game I played on here yet! I just kept going!
I love the concept. Is really hard to satify 2 or 3 players at once. I think the game would really benefit from some lightning.
I can't get your web version to work! After it loaded, I clicked the button on your title screen, and there was a loud buzz followed by chrome crashing. Let me know if you get it working again
Really liked the mood above all else, and turning what is basically a really simplified audio work station into a kind of puzzle is pretty neat. Would've been cool if there was more incentive to try and please as many party guests as possible with the same pattern. Right now it's possible to just check them of one after the other and it still works.
Regarding playing in browser: I think if you implemented the in-between screen where you can buy the items as an overlay over the 3D scene, it wouldn't have to load the 3D again after every 30s of party.
Overall pretty cool though. :v:
@squirmonkey Sorry to hear that. Does it work on a different browser or a different computer?
@jamessauer Thank you! That's a good idea. I ran into these browser-based issues near the end of the game jam, so I didn't get time to refactor. For now, linux/windows/macos work best, but I should definitely rearrange it to get web polished.
Nice game! Really interesting approach and well made. Music (as expected) is really good and the art fits the mood perfectly. However, it lacks and incentive, other than trying to make a new highscore. There is no win / lose condition, so it can get a bit repetitive after a while. Also it would be really cool if the buttons could be toggled using the keyboard as well. That would really give off the sense of being a DJ! Keep up the good work!
Ah yeah, it worked in firefox!
Cool to see a Godot game! I've only worked in Unity, but Godot seems like a really slick engine. I had load issues on web like you mentioned, but once I downloaded the windows version it worked perfectly!
You've come up with a really fun interpretation of the theme, and I had a lot of fun seeing how many patterns I could fit onto one pad. I wound up wanting more time per level to try and min-max my layout! Good job :)
The concept is solid, it's a pretty interesting puzzle. Good work.
It's actually nice for once to see a Godot game out of a sea on Unity games. Like with everyone of course there was load issues, but had no problem with the executable.
This concept has to be improved cause this is so good of a concept not to pass up! Well done on that! I've been playing with Digital Audio Workstations before, but never applied it as a function to a game!!
I did find a cheese strategy though. After a while, since there's no rent to maintain yourself to coincide with the theme as well, keeping the party up is pretty easy once you have access to fireworks. Only using it at the last second.
You've outdone yourself in terms of play and makes up for it even if the graphics and music side of things are not good.
Really fun and unique. Lots of room to expand mechanics with more devtime too. I would also like to see a challenge mode where you try to match all the audience patterns with one setup
I didn't run into load issues, i mean it was like 15 seconds of load time but really not bad. I loved the gameplay and having to read the crowd to see what I should play! maybe make the little pattern badges bigger so its easier to rad them? Had blast, had to keep it alive!
Very nice idea. It's trying to satisfy as many people at the same time as possible.
Neat idea but the sounds are somewhat irritating
That was a really great take on the theme and well executed. Although it did give me terrible flashbacks to creating the music for my entry.
Fantastic Idea, Great Execution. Original too. This game is standing out for me!
Heck yeah, that was fun! It's kinda a few good ideas that fit together in a neat package. A fun little puzzle, and also a tycoon, and also a music game? Sign me up! I was playing in the browser, so the loading times were awful, and I just wish that it didn't have to load between levels, otherwise who knows how many rounds I would have played
We win too fast :sob: I can't make them all dance because the party stop before, it was irritating to not finish the combo.
Interesting and innovative gameplay! It took me a while to understand what was going on but once I did it was fun looking at combos I could do by playing multiple patterns at once. I don't think I've seen anything like this before. It was satisfying watching the meter go up, especially when using items! One small thing is that the sounds were a bit distracting, to be honest I took off my headphones and listened to the sounds from a bit more distance. Good job!
Fun little game!!! =D
Wow what a funny game :D What this game delivers is, in a very primitive way, how taste in music works, which I really liked. The game idea could easily be extended upon, and overall I really had a great time. Few nitpicks: - The 3D renders seem a bit overkill, especially seeing how they did not even render on the html version (that might just be on my side though) - The 2D elements lack a bit of love and care, a bit of branding if you will. They do what they are supposed to, but especially the icons which are so crucial to the game and where most of your eye's focus lies feel left behind
Maybe settle either on 2d or 3d? In any case, I had a fantastic time :D I made it to 17 Fog Machines, 6 Confetti and 2 Fireworks n_n
/edit: whoops, I just realized I can actually use the Party enhancers. Great game just got even better :D
groovy ! i like music games !
Congratulatiosn for the game! Really cool and funny idea.
I like the concept, I think there's a lot you could do with it. It would be cool if there was a little more depth, or if the sequencer was a little more "musical". Trying to string together as many patterns together as possible is pretty fun!
Haha, very good and fun use of the theme ! Nice outcome, but repetitive, I really wish I would play more. Maybe different "levels" to make the challenge a bit different ? Don't know. But for a compo, this is still really impressive, good job !! :)
Cute game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/Xpc46Nkubiw
@jupiter-hadley wow, thank you for playing! Your feedback is super helpful!
Nice game, like that it's a music game :) Took me a bit to understand how to play (which buttons to press and why), a tutorial would be nice, or at least an initial help screen. But overall really nice :)
- Creative approach to the topic :heavy_check_mark: - Unusual mechanic :heavy_check_mark: - A hecking game loop on a game jam! :heavy_check_mark: Awesome entry! I really enjoyed this one and appreciated your interest in making something new. Nice job!
DSLR cameras are a type of digital camera that utilizes a single lens for both viewfinder and image capture. The single lens lets the photographer see exactly what will be captured in the image, as well as allowing for more control over the light and composition.
