It's fun. I've played it a few times over. I'm not sure if building up the base really helps that much because my current record was made with only posts.

O.o, I think putting some mass on personas will fix this sploit. Thanks for the feedback
Cool concept. Don't see much of the theme, but who cares, it's fun.
Great execution! I actually laughed out loud at some of the unexpected interactions in the game. My best year was 41.
@max6333 The idea was something like: The more years go by, the more space is left to survive.
53 years!
This is outstanding, so clever, and the little touches really sell it. I would however adjust the rotation values when building, cause I could never get my planks level from left to right when rotating and just had to drop it and hope it didn't knock anything over lol. Great game, you got all 5's from me, spectacular.
Really dig that game! It's easy to understand without any instruction, it's fun and it's also kinda funny. I wish there was a bit more time to build at the beginning, but other than that it's very good.
@valter Aha, wasn't obvious to me, probably because it's 5 AM...
Lmao, it's fun!
Lol I just beat ya, got 55 years!
This is hilarious! Thanks so much for bringing it to the stream!
This one almost derailed my stream completely tonight. I was having so much fun playing it I didn't want to move on. I actually have gone back and tried out some of my ideas for better structures and they seem to work well. I like the interactions between characters and the physics chain reactions that happen when things go wrong. Good engineering puzzle of building the structure, and then hilarious chain reactions when you run out of space. Love this interpretation of the theme and would love to see some more ideas like heavy stone blocks and maybe weather affecting the castle.
Heres the clip from my stream of me having too much fun watching things go badly: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297137160
Also @fizzpowmike1 102 years get rekt lol.
@aevek lol holy crap! Well done! I know what you mean though, I was like, "I should check out some other games, but I'm having too much fun!"
Sketch (8).png @aevek kneel before me! lmao
@fizzpowmike1 never! highscore.PNG
Awesome game! easy to understand and fun to experiment and try new methods. Think I may have found a cheat though ;)

@rhoka Holy... Ok, that was not my idea of a perfect castle ..
This is a real sploit .. haha thx for playing
This was a lot of fun! I think my best was 107 years. Probably my favourite game so far.
Going forward, you could polish it a little bit; a better graphic for the heir, maybe some small character animations, display the current high score as you're playing, a nicer font. I think it would do really well on a site like Kongregate.
A good game idea, the music should be improved. The graphics are good. Try our game too, maybe you'll like it)
Really innovative idea and good use of the theme! Really enjoyed it, had a good laugh aswell when my heirs started fighting all of the sudden.
Very funny and dope game, amazing!!!)
Fun game, as other have pointed out building much in the beginning is pretty much strictly good - with balance around that the challang-aspect of the game would be more preent, but it's still very fun =)
hey, I got to your game and played it on stream! my record was 37 years. I really liked how the story of the kingdom affected the physics of your game!
Really love the concept and could be expanded on easily. Nothing more I could say except keep on going with it!
Funny game :) My record was 87 years! Not sure what causes the heirs to start fighting though. I felt like I got kind of lucky on my last run.
I like the music and graphics and concept... but I must be terrible at playing it because I keep knocking down all the posts before I even get started. Is there a way to rotate the wood planks?
This game is hilarious, and I don't know how I build the heck out of a kingdom with full of woods that can stand well, yet I still survived for 74 years... Probably not bad for others. Thanks for this game :D
@deathray Mouse 2 to rotate planks
This was a great interpretation of the theme! Excellent mechanics and solid gameplay! Thanks for sharing your game with my stream awhile back! Here's a link to the vod: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297569760?t=01h27m37s
Fascinating game. You don't see many historically accurate educational games on Ludum Dare.
Haha, funny game! A bit difficult to play on a laptop with a track pad because of right mouse button usage, but it was still nice to play :)
wow that was a super fun game to play! I really enjoyed the mess of what was going on when you run out of space on your platform :D music was also great and so were sound effects, overall a great game!
Haha, I managed to beat your score, 54 years, but freaked out when I see people here managed to last hundreds of years LMAO. I had some fun time, thanks for the game!
I enjoyed the music and sound effects. It also was quite fun and funny, trying to determine the correct structure was a good puzzle.
Great job. It took me a few seconds to understand what I'm supposed to be doing, but once I did, everything was intuitive and simple. Fits the theme perfectly, and has the added bonus of being hilarious. Spamming vertical planks as quickly as possible seems to produce the best results, but there's certainly a lot of potential for experimentation in layouts. My best attempt achieved 94 years, the last decade or so of which saw my king partially dunked in the water. A chain reaction of heirs fighting each other caused the queen, heretofore neatly tucked into a cave, to end up falling into the water, which catapulted the king into the sky, finally sending him plummeting into the water. Wonderful little game. I can certainly see it expanded in the future, maybe with more character types and interactions. In addition, since you asked for a "rate exchange", I'd love it if you [dropped some feedback on my own game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/requiem-for-the-postman). I don't normally advertise like this, but hey, I'm about one rating off from being scored, and you did invite us to do that. :P I enjoyed what I saw; I hope you have it likewise.
Definitely more fun on a mouse, the touchpad was tough, who plays games on a touchpad anyways, scrubs...
I had fun with this, playing around with the different interactions, forcing the queen to have a bunch of kids, picking fights with heirs, killing off the queens kids, forcing her to have more kids, more heir fights, killing more of the queens kids off ... you know that sadistic Game Of Thrones stuff... it made me smile and stay around for a bit.
I agree with some of the others commenting here that the rotating of blocks should be adjusted, with the current single building block i see no reason why i would want a block at any angle other than 0 and 90. I think that would have helped my building allowing me to focus on a grand structure worthy of the kingdom rather than trying to just spam blocks in hopes of building a mass that would last a while...
all in all i had fun, and thats what games are aboot!
This was hilarious and fun, really enjoyed it! Loved the interactions between the characters - made me think about how to build the kingdom better the next round! Sound effects were great. The king and queen didn't react to the baby falling off which surprised me but still, LOL.
this is pretty hilarious! really, it's all the queen's fault! hahaha just kidding! really liked the interactions. this is quite enjoyable although the gameplay is short but it's sweet!
@lumos Sorry for that, but in these days i have to rush somethings on my job. Because of that I dont readed the lasts feedbacks on my game before the ending rating time :c
