Oct 21 15:49:38 The Liftman ♥ 0 This is a really good entry and a strong result for a short time. The elevator is a nice touch, though with very fast interaction the control logic can occasionally glitch. The shadows on the characters look a bit unusual, which slightly affects immersion, but overall it's an impressive piece of work.
Oct 21 15:56:17 6m 39s To the Coast ♥ 1 The music is quite good! And good to see a Construct game here! Good job, man
Oct 21 16:02:51 6m 34s The Lost Rifleman ♥ 1 A neat little game made by one person. The gameplay loop is really simple: you move from campfire to campfire, dodging or fighting off ghosts and keeping an eye on the sanity bar. It's quite fun, dynamic, and refreshingly straightforward: light the fires, dodge, shoot. The audio is perfectly fine, with background music and decent sounds for shots and enemies. Overall, with more time and resources this could become a great game!!
Oct 21 18:30:22 2h 27m SCRAP RUNNERS ♥ 0 You walk around the location, pick up respawning items in houses and ruins, and that's the core loop. It's oddly absorbing, and the robot AI keeps things tense, since once they spot you it's challenging to get away. I like how the game looks too, with strong graphics, and the respawn system means you can take your time around the first hatch. One small suggestion: it would be nice to have a system that removes items you've already fully collected from the loot pool.
Oct 21 18:40:24 10m 02s GOODBYE, LOCINERA ♥ 1 I found a fun little bug: grab the bananas, head to the cube beach, and the game decides to improvise. I jumped down, found a test field with some models, chatted with one of them, ended up back in the shop, and the game just locked up lol. Honestly, stumbling into a secret test area almost felt like a hidden feature. Keep up the development!
Oct 21 18:49:41 9m 17s Steel Tree ♥ 1 Quite an atmospheric game about the daily life of a radio operator simulator. Interacting with in-game items is a little awkward, and unfortunately I got stuck right at the part with the third cassette and the computer. The thing is, the game doesn't really explain how to do the decoding, so I clicked through a few commands and nothing happened. Still, I really enjoy the atmosphere and hope the decoding part gets a bit clearer. Keep up the development!
Oct 21 18:59:50 10m 09s My Rusty Giant ♥ 0 I like the core idea: you run around collecting scrap metal and energy cells to keep a walking turret alive while it shoots at other turrets. The balance feels a bit off, and I couldn't find a button for upgrading the turret's turning speed (maybe it doesn't exist, though everything else has one). Running feels a little slow, and you have to go quite far from the robot for resources, which go in one unit at a time, and shields too (it would be handy to add all shields at once, especially when the robot is under fire). The game is genuinely fun, it just feels like it could use a bit more polish to be fully enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing where you take it!
Oct 21 19:04:25 4m 35s KickBack ♥ 1 A surprisingly well-made boomer shooter. The animations are smooth and beautifully drawn, the weapons feel immersive with every shot, and the gameplay is varied with different challenges each wave, like shooting to the rhythm of the music, getting pulled toward the enemy with each shot, or a chance of the weapon jamming and dumping the whole magazine while spinning you around. The project is simply great. Really looking forward to what comes next!
Oct 21 19:08:25 4m 00s Rogue Battle Ships ♥ 0 I like this roguelike about ships: the controls are simple but not trivial, easy to learn and hard to master, and you pick a path and fight other ships. There are several enemy ship types, and every sunk ship gives resources you can spend in the hub on upgrades. There are a few upgrades, they're decent and offer some variety (a repair crew or a crew that charges the cannons faster at low health). There's also a reward system for each cleared node, a quick upgrade for that specific run. One thing I didn't quite get is the cells: whether I went to a search, escort or shop node, it was always a simple fight and a choice of the next branch. Still, a really enjoyable game, looking forward to seeing it grow!
Oct 21 19:13:07 4m 42s SKELETONS! G2G ♥ 1 This one really reminds me of Textorcist, and I mean that in a good way: you type in the words shown above the skeletons on a keypad phone to kill them and survive for a while. I like that there are three skeleton types, fire, ice and regular, with fire being a laser on the three nearest ones and ice being a stun and slow on all of them. Honestly, it's a fun and well-made clicker, I just wish there was a bit more variety to keep me coming back. Really nice work, and I'm curious to see where it goes next!
Oct 21 19:18:34 5m 27s LIDEC “4” ♥ 0 I like the idea behind this one: you reveal a dark environment using a special active device, with two modes, a focused cluster of light and a wider area light, and you need to switch on 6 generators and escape. There's a monster too, but it's fairly easy to outsmart. The only downside is that the game is literally just floor, walls and ceiling, so it could use some environment, including for getting your bearings in the space. Still, the idea is relatively new and interesting, and I'm curious to see where it goes!
Oct 21 19:22:05 3m 31s Break the Gorilla ♥ 0 The idea of throwing your phone and trying to smash it is a fun concept, and the tools in the shop are a nice touch. Not sure if it's intended or a bug, but you can only use one single item per throw, and picking another instantly returns the phone to your hand lol.
Oct 21 19:26:14 4m 09s The Animation Morgue ♥ 0 Mechanically this one's pretty interesting, you move layers in a projector to change the size of objects on screen and shift them around to solve some really simple puzzles. It's fun and satisfying to mess with, and even though there's not much challenge, the core idea is really good. There are three endings, and two of the final ones aren't super clear (they're actually kinda understandable, just not explained). Still a neat concept,
Oct 21 19:30:25 4m 11s Textolite ♥ 1 This is a great 2D action platformer, with progression and interesting bosses and enemies, upgrades, each one changes the hero visually and gives a solid boost to certain stats. Overall, an excellent game for the jam, one of the most polished and well-crafted ones I've seen, and seriously impressive for just a couple of days of work. Really nice job!!
Oct 21 19:39:29 9m 04s HYPNAGOGIA FRONT ♥ 1 Honestly kind of a mix between a visual novel and a walking simulator. If the setting's your thing, it'll probably click for you, and I did enjoy the walking-backwards mechanic, that's a neat touch. Not totally sure what the breathing mechanic is for though, since save points are spread around pretty generously. Not really my cup of tea, I wandered for a bit, but neither the story nor the narrative really grabbed me. Still gotta give it credit for being unusual and running smoothly. Glad I checked it out!
Oct 21 19:43:38 4m 09s Gadget-o-Rama ♥ 1 Seems like a Pokemon-inspired game, and the pixel art is honestly the highlight for me, super detailed and genuinely beautiful. The controls were a bit unclear though, I kept pressing attack and nothing seemed to happen. There's also some imbalance with the gadgets, the heaviest one just physically can't dodge anything, and you can't pick another one (your opponents get several). Still, you can tell a lot of love went into the art!
Oct 21 19:47:24 3m 46s Rogue Cove ♥ 0 Nice tribute to the old-school dungeon crawlers. Controls are intuitive and smooth, and the key bindings are honestly great, super convenient. Enemies are well drawn and animated too. Only downsides for me were that I couldn't figure out how to go fullscreen, and I got stuck once moving between floors 1 and 2. Still a really solid little crawler!
Oct 21 19:51:26 4m 02s Scavenger Wraiths ♥ 0 Mechanically it's a pretty simple top-down game, and the loop is straightforward: grab scrap, haul it to the hatch, don't get caught by the hostile clouds. It plays smoothly and the environment is actually pretty engaging and not too samey. My main gripe is there's no real end goal, no upgrades, no way to spend what you've looted on the surface, it's just about racking up a bigger score. One thing I really gotta highlight is the music, it's nice and relaxed, doesn't get old, and works great in the background. Solid little game overall!
Oct 21 19:55:29 4m 03s Apteka ♥ 3 Really enjoyed this one. It looks intimidating at first with its bulky inventory, but it's actually surprisingly intuitive once you get into it. I love the setup too, three days, a family waiting at home that you're working for, and ten customers a day. Some describe their illness in words, some hand you a prescription, and some just want to walk off with drugs without one, and you get three chances to make a mistake. Overall a complex, excellent project. My only suggestion would be to declutter the screen a bit, there's a lot of menus and active actions.
Oct 21 20:06:00 10m 31s Cheese Lamp ♥ 0 Hand-drawn project with genuinely well-made backgrounds, you can tell there's a lot of heart here. I did hit some rough spots though. If it weren't for @chef explaining things in their own words, I'd probably still be staring at the first location, since the hatch you need to climb into and its interact button are hiding past the edge of the screen and need spamming. The interactive notes close with a grey button in the top left, and if you don't know about it, good luck ever finding it, that's a hilarious little puzzle in itself lol. Still, there's clearly a lot of love in this, and I'd love to see the UI and pacing smoothed out.
Oct 21 21:06:42 1h 00m THE LAST WORD ♥ 1 Good game, nice visuals and music that never gets old. Definitely has a Papers Please vibe going on. The whole time I was playing I assumed the money piling up on the desk (why doesn't the janitor pocket it? haha) didn't affect anything, but turns out it seems to influence the ending. Not 100% sure though. The text in those cutscenes scrolls by really fast and I can't keep up with reading it. Reading the news entries is a bit inconvinient too. Other than that, super fun game! Really addictive. 🍦
Oct 22 17:29:46 20h 23m Forgotten Device ♥ 1 I like the mood and depth of this short plot! Graphics and camera are nice touch for the COMPO, really impressive. Level design could use some depth too: I'd show some blockers to players before they complete quest. I didn't know that my path needs to be cleared before radio told me that. But it would make much more sense to me, if I take antenna only after I saw that path is blocked. Overall it's awesome game!
Oct 23 12:41:13 19h 11m Fotoshu: Caught on Film ♥ 2 I like this game, nice puzzle levels, I went through every of them. Game looks really polished. The only issue for me was a little bit of pixel-hunting in some puzzles. But overall the game is amazing, especially for a short jam!
Oct 23 23:27:09 10h 45m Dead Frequency ♥ 0 agree with @bereg about monster Sadly, it only has one level, but you made it solo, which is a big selling point. Impressive amount of work you've put in here. Though seriously, I wish it had more content. Don't ditch it, keep it up!
Oct 24 10:56:52 11h 29m Road Rage ♥ 0 Why did you opt out of humor category? I think it's gold. This game made me laugh by making fun of me. Probably because I didn't read the game description and rushed into playing it, thinking it was a simple racing game. pic
Oct 24 14:23:26 3h 26m Stars and the Sea ♥ 1 Nailed it. I think, small stars should've been less attention-grabbing, maybe slowly fading away and reappearing in other places, just to show that they are not your markers. I like the music and game concept, but I feel that this game misses something, I don't know what exactly. Or maybe it's just this kind of game where you just sit and chill. You know it better than I do, it's your game. I hope you'll keep up the development, it's definitely something!
Oct 24 20:27:44 6h 04m Please Insert Game Disk ♥ 0 oh wow, such a nostalgic experience! I like it. Died couple of times but still game wasn't a huge challenge. Balance is great. The only thing I'd want is a few more levels and more gameplay around each cartridge.
Oct 24 20:49:00 21m 16s Igknight II - The Last Stand ♥ 0 Interesting and fun game! Range enemies are pain in the a55. Is there a way to tune mouse sensitivity?
Oct 24 21:21:43 32m 43s Orpheus 0600 ♥ 1 The game is made to convey a special mood and it does it perfectly! The web version doesn't work for me (crushing my browser) and the standalone one was freezing sometime. The instructions were a bit unclear, but I finished the game. The ending is awesome!
Oct 24 21:53:29 31m 46s Insert the Floppy ♥ 0 Good art, I like it. Speaking about procrastination - maybe try to team up with someone next time. It's much easier to find motivation from a friend than to dig yourself out alone.
Oct 24 22:29:25 35m 56s The Circular Arcade ♥ 0 level 1: my score is ~30 sec, is it a skill issue, or is the level infinite? (or both 😭 ) level 2: made it in 5:13. I started losing hope, man these circular mazes are insane! level 3: score is 2:24, I wish I had ability to fire at enemies with L level 4: this is the most unfair level due to rng. You literally have to predict future or be super evasive and be more than 1 line away from other cars level 5: this one was way too easy, especially compared to others. I made for 0:22 Overall it gave me vibes of Super Hexagon, and level 5 reminded me of Resogun. Cool engine, cool ideas, I like it, but some levels are really difficult.
Oct 28 19:19:56 92h 50m Boo'x Office ♥ 2 I've noticed that the schedule and the missing reels are random when I start the new game. I feel like I've run into a soft lock from the get-go the first time I launched the game. I wasn't able to find the last reel, but the next run it was immediately there. UPD. Okay, seems like you intentionally hide the 3rd scheduled reel from player, but I have no idea where to find or how to put smth instead of it. I've had 3 attempts and spent a lot of time figuring out how to play this game. I'm left frustrated, because I really like the background music, graphics and the entire vibe.
Oct 28 20:12:57 53m 01s The Night Clerk ♥ 1 Only after the 4th attempt did I realize that the grayscale fragments of the video are actually hints about the anomaly. After that, the game becomes much less hectic. Such a cool entry!
Oct 28 20:56:01 43m 04s BIN.EXE ♥ 0 Easy to learn and hard to master, the balance of this game is such a nice touch! Chopped my arms off so they wouldn't move the platform where they shouldn't!!! 😠 Got my best time above 1 minute in the infinite level and rage-quit. The game is fun as hell! Nice job.
Oct 28 21:06:56 10m 55s I Don't Even Knit, or Olde Castle ♥ 1 Good art style and platforming, I like it. Keep it up! Things to polish: the level design should be more spacious, so the character wouldn't hit their head against the ceiling every time, and it would also be nice to check that the character can't walk sideways, so their animation doesn't glitch. 👍
Oct 28 22:01:16 54m 20s Trebuchet Golf ♥ 0 Captivating game. Really nice difficulty progression. Challenging, but not pushing. Sometimes trebuche gets glitchy on launch after afk. Graphics could use some help, and it would be nice to have some background music and then you are good to release it. Overall the game is fun!
Oct 28 22:13:27 12m 11s da Vinci's WAR MACHINE ♥ 0 Fun and interesting upgrades. But when I get the tank I start snowballing really quick and the game stops to give challenge until the boss arrives. Bossess aiming felt a bit unfairly fast, though its hp was quite low, so it was annihilated in couple of seconds.
