What an experience, it reminded me what awesomeness can come out of a random Ludum Dare game. This one is fascinating in both the artistic vision and the underlying systems. And you really hit the spot with that gravelly bike sound, it captivated me from the start and made me accept the driving mechanic for what it is. Sadly I picked the game at a time where I couldn't give it more than 30 something minutes.

It seems there was an attempt to lean into a specific visual style, but the pixelation feels inconsistent, and there’s a lack of effects. I didn’t quite "get" the appeal of the game itself, but I can clearly see how much you enjoyed the development process! The mountains in the game are really beautiful!

I didn't have any sound, and don't really enjoy contemplative experiences. If I missed any mechanic during the bycicling, the game is probably a lot better than I felt like.

Neat game! It's generally calming but also kind of sad listening to some of those tapes at the campfire.

My main issue is that the controls could use some tutorial, even a text tutorial on this page here would be fine. Took me until the second day before I even realized that I could talk to people on the road

I think I missed something. I heard no playback even once, even after trying to interact with it. Without anything extra the roads feel... long. Maybe it is the point. I did wish to speed up for a moment witness some wildlife along the path.

Well done.

@kr4ft3r happy to hear you enjoyed the game for the time you had!

@maxxxmax we definitely had a great time developing this, appreciate your feedback

@saphi and @coderaurus we're really sad there was no sound for you. A lot of dev time went into the music, the cassette playback, the world atmos and bicycle sounds. We never encountered any bugs to prevent audio playback so we will have to try and figure out what the cause was. itch.io can sometimes prevent any sound unless the embedded game is clicked on first, that's the only lead we can offer you. Regardless, thanks for stopping back in to leave your feedback.

@polite-prinny calming and sad is exactly what we were going for. Thanks for your feedback as well - will update the page

The music is quite good! And good to see a Construct game here! Good job, man

After first struggling with the controls, this turned out to be a great experience. The bike riding had something meditative to it, and the characters gave it life. I just wish I could have listened to the tapes while riding. I threw most of them into the ocean unplayed. Maybe that's the way it was meant to be.

@artonix we love Construct 3 for rapid prototyping in these game jam scenarios!

@parkuhrmd thanks for your feedback. Listening to the tapes was definitely something we wanted to be a player choice. We considered listening to them while riding but felt like it would become too passive somehow. But maybe there is a world where you could implement it and keep it engaging. I've played so many games recently with so much dialogue that you begin to just... tune it out. But as you say, maybe the tapes aren't really for us. It's just our job to transport them where they need to go.

I appreciate the old-school vibes in this game, the game mood was def. one of the strengths. Some random thoughts while I played:

- The bicycle hauls were maybe a little too long. I wasnt sure if the background sprites were some interactable objects. - Keyboard controls were a bit odd at times (map selector) - Music and SFX were on point! Really added to the game mood. - Day night cycle was a welcome addition for visuals. Then again I was missing a bicycle light as it got really dark.

Absolutely loved this game. It had so much life and character. Fantastic job :)

vandervas-generator 2026-10-25 01:17 ♥ 0

@harujam we definitely wanted to have some scenic stopping points / world interactions to break up the bike riding - it just never made it to the top of our list. Glad to hear the mood was strong! A bicycle light... would be honestly an incredible addition, if we ever do a post-jam version we will add you in the credits as being responsible for such a thing

@ok-octopus13 Thanks for playing, and for stopping in to leave feedback!

A beautiful experience and an important reminder of what games can be. Inspiring! Especially loved the premise, the world building and voice acting.

A minor nitpick, but it seemed that no matter how long or short your journey was in a day, you would always arrive at night. Also, when the sun set it got _really_ dark!

vandervas-generator 2026-10-27 05:00 ♥ 0

@the-big-lost a nitpick... or a metaphor? or the secret third option - a hastily added day/night cycle

kumber 2026-10-28 12:17 ♥ 1

I managed to find all the messages... I had to play a second time (btw nice touch that you keep the messages already found in the previous game and the increased daily range) just to bring them all to the coast... I loved the mood. Great work in so little time!
