Well, the art really need to be polished, or you could search for anyone to make then for you on future games. About the gameplay, all enemies do the same thing, only run against the player and takes knockback, could have some enemies that shot projectiles for example, and at the end is said you don't have more time to finish the game... well, its a 3 days game jam, the idea is to make a simple game, but you put too much effort on several scenarios and enemies, this time could be to make a final boss, even if you use only one level. :v
The idea looks good for a game, but there is some missing HUD elements like life, and collected power ups, and some power ups looks a bit overpowered since you can win simply by going more deeper than the other player, so the power enchant will double your speed and then make an easy win.
Really great game, that was a lot fun and challenging, but the only thing is, was a bit out of the theme, the only thing that was included to say "it was in the deeper and deeper theme" was the blocks that damage everyone for every 5 turns D:
And when i finished the final boss, the game has crashed: "Out of memory error"
That was a cute game, the pixel art, text graphics and sound was really great, but was a bit out of the theme
That was cute :v, the idea was well done, but the onion damage looks a bit low, you can rush with damage only until finish the game.
I had a surprise with this game, was way creative, but its hard to get a reaction with the normal camera zoom and "earth move speed"
The graphics looks really nice, but could have any other enemy. And there is a bug when you kill a slime, and keep attacking, the death scrip execute again spawning more itens, this could be solved with a simple flag.
I was a bit surprised with the concept, is simple but easy to learn to play, but could have some SFX and better sprites.
Just one thing, since its a competitive game, every "ball" could have something so say if its player 1, 2 or even a CPU if you want to make. But for an compo game, that was a nice project.
The resources lost for each run makes the game way harder, maybe nearly impossible to progress, since some upgrades need more money than you can get in a single run even with a great generation seed.
The graphics is really well done, also the level puzzles was really challenging, the only thing that i don't like, was the shift key to use dash (could be Q or E, is near from WASD keys) and the sound effects volume is very high and doesn't fit too well.
Well, most arts looks good, but you have done some systems like a chat that was not really needed for a short game jam, you could spend more time on gameplay mechanics than a history for example.
Looks like its unfinished, could make random sigils and as you said, use something to make easier to look (could be with colors, for example)
The idea and execution was really great, i've notice some simple things in the interface (like the dashed line for something bellow, or solid line for something above) this makes a lot of difference for any program, and de difficulty was well balanced to the style. The only thing as negative was the explosion particles, that can hide bullets easily, and the enemies stay avove the HUD.
And one more thing, maybe its a bug, but when i set the aim to way below, sometimes return to my own level.
@ultimatewalrus I found a trick where you start a wave at the corner and keep shooting down while the enemies are far away, then they will get together in a single spot, making way easier to dogdge, but at depth 600+ some enemies get crazily bigger.

It's simple but the music + art style gives a relaxing sense, but the sonar mechanic doesn't give a really great difficulty.
The game looks broken D:, everytime i restart, starts a new music without stop the older, and the frame rate drops even more, and when i hit some wall the character stay stuck on it.
Also the spikes could be placed procedurally.
