Lovely aesthetic. What you've got seems like a good polished foundation :)

An AWESOME game!!! I lost track of time while playing and it was great, very well done!!
It's tough but balance is hard in 48 hours. Great work, I really like the clever use of the theme. The volume kept moving during play which might have something to do with godot's focus system on control nodes? Either way it's very stylish
@coderaurus It could have been my setup, my guess is that after I used the mouse on the volume slider, its control node became "focused" which made it affected by arrow keys. Even off screen. So moving the char to the right side increased the volume slider. Just a godot thing I think.
I think you can set its focus mode in the inspector to NONE
This is excellent :) I've got no critique that couldn't be fixed with some more time/polish outside of a jam. You've got something that I could easily see working for a full commercial game here.
Nice use of the theme. Simple but effective gameplay. Nice work :)
Not much to add that hasn't already been said, good job :)
mom is disappointed
@deniz-aras @tengusheath @dhim @mdotedot @henrik-ganard @coderaurus Thanks for the feedback. The controls and player feedback are obviously an improvement point.
@nash Thanks for the kind words. Extra juice to actions is definitely something I wanted to add but ran out of time. I definitely think an in-game mini tutorial is warranted, I guess that's what I kind of tried to do with the scarecrow at the beginning. A remake is something I'm toying with so I appreciate the points :)
@ilari Thank you :)
@davidbradbury WASD with a mouse might be the way to go to give a bit more control. The marking system is a bit unintuitive. I want to add some sort of visual feedback to show the marking. You're right with the odd angle, it's made harder by the player only showing left or right in their sprite :sweat_smile: . The pumpkins coming alive is a neat idea though, I might save that one. One idea I had is giving the player little point orbs they can pick up that explode out of enemies in downtime.
@potoobird thankyou! You're right, initially I wanted a more themed roster if enemies (ghosts, zombies, and vampires) but was stuck for time.
@roroto-sic Thanks for the suggestion, I wrote the description while sleep deprived so it's definitely something I overlooked. I've since added that. Otherwise, thanks for playing! More monsters was definitely the plan and would have helped a lot I think as well :')
@ruslan-kossak Good point! I'll add that to you can mark multiple enemies to the description :). Thanks for your kind words <3
Hello! I really love the concept of this game, however, it doesn't all fit on the screen and some of the game cannot be seen. I think the part of the screen that can't be seen has "your boss" in it so when the game says "your boss will fire you" it doesn't tell you why and that got a bit frustrating. The controls are good and speedy but it doesn't tell you what the correct type of plant is based on the weather during that 10 seconds (that also might be in the bit off-screen) so that was frustrating as well because sometimes it will look like you've 'completed' that weather level but you don't know how. Overall, I think this game has heaps of potential but a more in depth explanation into the basics in what plants go with what weather and how to win would be perfect. Congrats on completing 'Ludem Dare 51'!!
I really like the mood. The fog adds a lot. I feel like you got the core of a good larger game here with some polish. :)
Reminds me of old mobile games :) Nice simple gameplay loop and I really like the adaptive music. I like the one button input, more possible effects would be cool.
Not many games left me wanting more, well done :)
A fellow bird-themed puzzle game :D Really great work, the levels ramp up in difficulty nicely :)
Once I delivered a couple packages, I eventually ended up just exploring the map since it was just a very cool level. Kinda reminded me of crazy taxi or something. Really nice old school vibe :) I think with a little more time there's something like a vibe runner in there.
This was fun. The TODO last level was pretty funny.
Had to use the itch.io version as the .zip export didn't have index.html at the top level.
I did find it a bit hard to drag the boxes. Though that might be a browser mouse issue. It also felt like the items spawned a pretty slowly.
That aside, well done.
This game sucessfully explored the latent rage inside all mailmen.
I really like the variety of enemies while stil being polished. Great work!
@tofucat Thanks for the heads up. Working on a fix.
Seems to be a Godot HTML export issue. What browser are you using if I may ask?
You could try the Itch.io embedded version and see if that one works:
https://nion-ne.itch.io/witch-familiar
@tofucat Okay I changed some spooky JS and that seems to have fixed it on my phone chrome at least :no_mouth:
@tofucat Thankyou! I'm really glad to hear it. :) As soon as I had the idea of a bird running an errand I knew it had to be a witch's familiar, so i'm glad you enjoyed that.
The name of Luna for the witch was actually inspired by a cat I know called that as well! Please pat your Luna for me :)
@haselkern Thank you very much for the kind words <3
@tumblingpuffin Thankyou :)
@castitatis Thankyou, I tried not to make it too difficult, though the last one is kind of a two in one :sweat_smile:
@dysleixc Thank you <3
@corporation That's exactly what I was going for, thankyou :)
@kgurniak91 Thanks for letting me know, it was exactly that situation that made me put in a reset input at the last minute. I think it could be helped by making buttons more "sticky". But thanks for playing to the end :)
When I clicked the link, it says it couldn't find the page :((
Very nice and kinetic. I liked how you had control over the roll and pitch too, made it feel like you could probably do some funky stuff. Great work :)
Really polished and lovely. No complaints, I had fun. Great work folks :)
Great interpretation of the theme, really creative. I found it tough keeping up, kept wanting to press enter instead of space through habit. Nice work :)
Really engaging, I like the choose your upgrades mechanic :)
Had an issue running this on firefox
