LD42 — Running out of space

POLYARNIK by icxon 2018-08-17T00:29:46Z

That is a really fun game! It is full of details, such as, the blocks that the penguins are planning to break (even when they are still on water) are highlighted, you can hit penguins using penguins and boxes; you can kick penguins underwater, it has a 'combo system' with some visual rewards such as: 'Nope' (when you hit some penguin on the air, just before he lands on ice) or 'Air Denial!' (When you use a penguin to hit other penguin that's just about to land on ice)... very, very polished game. I liked the water effect, i think the reflect it's just an animation, and probably the water too... but i'm not sure. Did you used a shader to draw the waves on the water or the reflections?

So... you did it directly for the web. Hmm... using... phaser  Cool

And... what exactly happened with the final boss?... lol

Congratulations guys!

Great work! I love the graphics, very clean and polished. I would like to see more of your work; keep it up!

It is a great concept. I especially like the banner, great art; but, i think that in order to appreciate the pixel art, in game, you need to use a lower resolution; in that way you force the nice retro colorful effect to be displayed (And of course enable full screen, because otherwise you will end up with a little screen, but the same result). It really needs some enemies or something to shoot at. At the beginning i was thinking that shooting at the space edge was needed in order to cross... and until i noticed the little arrow, i didn't get the idea. Overall it was very interesting, Great work!

The Flopp by Sanguis 2018-08-15T02:54:25Z

Very cool! (: The art was really cool, and i also liked the way the levels are loaded in the same level (some times(?)). I never used the 'attack button' (Going to try with the boxes, after publishing this [Yup, that work]). Some music would be great, but the game was fun as it is. Good Work!

TaskMaster 2000 by chelC 2018-08-14T03:39:18Z

I love the art, pretty consistent and clean, the pallet was modest but very well selected. The game was very humoristic and it has bunch of winks for windows users. Pretty neat work. Congratulations guys!

Cluttered Mind by HAUO 2018-08-14T21:14:25Z

Man... what interesting concept!. It has nothing to do with 'running out of space'... or... it has... i don't know. But the graphics are very cool and the sound makes you feel unconfortable (That i assume that was your intention). Neat! I would like to see more of your work!

Space Shipping by RubixNoob13 2018-08-14T03:17:58Z

Well it was an interesting concept. It would be great to buy fuel, or to had the ability to select several cargos at a time; and the space of the shift it's really big for the size of the cargos... it may be a good idea to make some 'incremental concept' and make the player chase the goal of a 'new ship with more space'. And it would be interesting if the map had several paths between which the player could decide.

A Bar In Space by Fluffy_Kaeloky 2018-08-15T02:18:25Z

It was fun, interesting, and the graphics were pretty cool to. You end up with a really good game, congratulations!

@icxon man!... i just noticed that you are the creator of Protolife (I didn't test it yet, i know, i know... but it definitely looks like something that i will like to play). And... after that i realize that your game was born in LD38. That's... Impressive. Thanks for the playthrough! we know that it needs tons of work, but we are pretty happy with the result. The game was made with Godot, i and @spelufo worked on Aseprite, to make the art; and the rest of the team learned and used godot, the same day.

Thank you all for playing our game, we are going to test and comment every single one of your games too.

King of Bjorp by Colin Doody 2018-08-15T03:06:05Z

Good job! It was very fun, but the controls was a little complicated (I guess it's the formula for people to try to master it). The graphics was good and the sound was excellent. I would like to try it with friends. Congratulations guys!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Endoparasitic by miziziziz 2021-04-27T03:15:30Z

I ended up loving the reload mechanic (after a lot of replay). Some times, I restarted the lvl without the gun, it felt like a bug, but... added a whole extra layer of anxiety. And the feeling, on reloading, was just the correct amount of desperation. You could benefit a lot from a little more polish on audio, tho'. But it was very interesting and challenging... I LOVED IT.

Tecta by techsec 2021-04-30T00:36:37Z

Very interesting concept. The screenshots help, but also... people is lazzy some times, so would be awesome that you could add a WebGL export (If you do it, include it, don't forget to write it down on your changelog).

Keep it up! Great work!

In Search of Sigmund I by T C 2021-04-30T11:31:14Z

Great entry! I also think that the gameplay needs a little polish. You go down, collecting perls, and avoiding enemies, but in your way up you don't have much to do. Remembers me the issue that Valve faced doing "The Elders scrolls: Skyrim" (And probably others), because after you clear a cave, going all way out, doing nothing, could be boring, they usually add some easy way to scape the cave, from it's deepest point, like a door that you just could use from the inside, for example.

Anyways, good work! keep it up! <3

Deep Sweep by Dazrow 2021-05-02T15:08:48Z

Great entry! The graphics are unified and well done, has interesting mechanics, and the music goes very well with the aesthetics. Could be interesting if you mimic more mechanics of the Minesweeper.

Very interesting. Nice graphics, specially the particles and the lighting, very cool stuff!
