Totally impressive! I broke my chains and lasted almost 6 minutes!
Pretty moody! Struggled a bit with the gameplay but the aesthetics make up for it!
This is an interesting and creative concept. The music and ambient whispering makes for a nice creepy atmosphere, combined with the chain imagery and the greyscale and red colourscheme. However, because of the limited colourscheme I had a hard time identifying harmless enemies from the ones that hurt me. Overall though, props for an out-of-the-box experience!
Fun game! :grinning:
Interesting and well-done in graphics, sound and concept. Not exactly made for those of us using a laptop touchpad, but I won't mark you down for that!
I've seen this game in early stage and was wondering what it will turn into in the end. It's a pleasure to see that you guys managed to deliver solid gameplay prototype and seasoned it with fitting soundtrack and atmospheric text. It was very unusual and positive experience even though that bloody background is giving me creeps lol. That being said, the game still has some issues like enemies moving too fast to be able to actually follow their movement. Neither could I always tell apart enemies of different types due to their sprites being too similar. Anyway, the game certainly has great potential. I symaptize you for experimenting with gameplay and wish you all the best. Keep making games!
I absolutely love the art and atmosphere of this game. It feels... restricting.
It was a bit hard to distinguish red and black enemies from the rest. That may be the point, but I often hit them thinking they were white.
The tutorial was a good bit of polish. I'd be rather confused jumping into the game without it.
I really like the ambience. The sounds, the musics, the art are so great. And the concept is very original and fun to play. I really like you game ! Very good job !
Awesome game, great mechanic, and sound fx fit just perfect, well done.
Really nice mood, the game is rather innovative and fun even though I thought it was a bit hard to play. Good work though
Looked great, sounded great, and I had fun playing it. very nice work!
i love the style of this game! amazing work!
This was weird, creepy, and I utterly loved it. Gameplay was tight and had a good feel to it. The graphics and sound effects worked so well with the action too. It was easy to enter a state of flow when playing this. I only broke the first two chains but I'm going to return to this to try and get free after I've checked out some more games.
Wow, it's was a great experience for the graphics and sound design, it was amazing ! I love it very much. But the controls are a bit strange and it was hard to be very accurate, I've enjoy it but get a bit frustrated too sometimes. Nice atmosphere, good job !
This was very fun, thanks for making it! It was challenging which is good in my eyes. I liked that the game got more difficult as it went on in more than one way. As the chains broke the mouse had to do more work to get around, when there was only one chain left the controls felt broken for a second and by the time i realized the difference I was dead. I kept playing, gave up without breaking that last chain, but that's ok I love a challenge. Loved the vibe, the action, the mood, the innovation. Great job!
Wow! Thanks for this, this is REALLY cool, I loved the concept, even though I have to try it again when I don't have to use a touchpad! :) Nice job!
This game is incredible. Everything comes together to make a really creepy and dangerous ambiance. It made me feel both powerful and powerless and even a bit angry (in a good way). I like how the tutorial not only explained the game, but also enhanced the story and atmosphere. I expected some kind of payoff after all four chains were broken, but I guess that wouldn't make much sense, since it's an arcade game. This is a fantastic game with an interesting concept. Great work!
WOW those retro graphics are awesome!
Please play, rate and comment our game aswell: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/disaster-on-nebula-one
I couldnt break my chains, but this was a nice experience. It felt very satisfying to hit those flying creatures since they were fast. Only complaint is maybe they were too fast but idk. 10/10
This is really interesting, very nice atmosphere. I think you perfectly delivered the chained feel. It was quite hard since the harmful enemies had colors very similar to the other ones, and in the end I couldn't break free but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
This is fantastic game! Theme, graphic, atmosphere...so good! Only problem is that the gameplay can be a little jagged and a bit to fast. In that chaos, its often hard to see enemy. Besides that... One of my favorite game so far! Great job!
This is a really great game, I really liked the graphics the tree was really cool, the smoke helped a lot to the mood and I really liked how the chains were used. The audio wasn't distracting and helped to boost the mood a lot. The audio, graphics and the mood really compliment each other. It's one of the better looking games I have played for this LD.
The only downside is the gameplay, it wouldn't hurt having an optional keyboard support as the mouse didn't feel as good trying to dodge and attack. I get what you tried to do with the mouse and it being more exact than using a keyboard, the real problem is that the area is too small if you compared it with the amount of movement that you do with the mouse. About the enemies, I think you guys have a problem with the enemies that can attack you and the enemies that you need to attack with your other form. In other games it would be easier as they would have to just change their color to get them more distinguished but in this one it would clash with the palette you have, If I had to solve this it would be making the enemies that can hurt you more bigger, at least 1.5 the size they are currently so you can detect them with just a glance.
Overall this game is one of my favorites of the LD, I really liked it. Excellent Job!
Fantastic art style and visual design. Was genuinely quite creepy. The game-play was simple, but enjoyable. Overall, I very much enjoyed playing it.
The art was different from every LD39 game I played until now, which is good. It had a creepy atmosphere and the gameplay was fast and fun, perhaps a little bit difficult :p Overall a very good game! Congrats :)
For some reason all I see is:

Any advice?
@icxon Game maker may have such an issues if you are running the game with an integrated video card. So, if you do, switch to a dedicated one, please. If this is not the case, I can only suggest to update the video drivers or something like that.
Fantastic. The solo mouse controls worked really well, it was great fun. It would have been nice to have been able to resize the screen or something, or maybe have markers indicating off screen enemies, as sometimes I felt like I was getting hit from enemies offscreen. Also, an ending would have been nice, but I guess it fits better with the mood that there isn't one. Managed to survive for 6 minutes.
So damn good! This game is awesome!
Was thinking about Umbrella Corporation (music, color scheme, atmosphere). And I feel a bit dizzy now.
Here is my playtest:

@icxon Big thanks for the video, man! Wasn't sure how this kind of gameplay is working out for the people, so seeing someone playing the game and doing more or less expected things is invaluable.
Very nice graphics and music.Hard and not sure why the bastards wont get near me....It makes you blind but builds the mood.I should say its a great idea but not that fun...
Very nice game! The music was awesome, the graphics were well made, the story lines were great, and the whole gameplay felt solid! It could be improved if you allowed screen customization, so we could make it go full screen if we wanted to.
Overall, very nice game! Well done!
@jason200101 You actually can go fullscreen by pressing Alt+Enter (lol, I wrote 'alt-tab' in the description, will fix this). On some computers it doesn't work if you press the right alt key, but with the left alt it should always do.
Thanks for the feedback!
Cool idea with chains! I was pleasantly surprised at the start of the game seeing the chained monster for no particular reason.
Despite the mechanics are too simple for me to play more than 3-5 minutes, these minutes were fun because of the movement and dynamics.
Also, the mood and audio are just what you need for this kind of game.
Cheers!
Really nice, loved the mood!
Broke all the chains, died a free soul at 4.44. Has a nice mythological feel to the audio-visuals, although *edgier*.
The controls are fine and the challenge up there. Going on an *AFFECT* rampage is always very cathartic.
A little bug. When restarting after death the HUD disappears.
Great work!
@huvaakoodia Thanks for pointing that out, insta-fixed!
Really impressive work. Smooth controls, nice mood, nice sounds and an overall good gameplay. This is a little gem to me, please keep work on it! :)
