| Apr 8 01:05:13 | DungeonDescent | ♥ 2 | This is really well done! It took me awhile to understand (I'm definitely more of a learn by doing person than a reader) but once I did it felt tight. The lines are satisfying to draw and the system feedback is good. Very fun & strategic game, good job. | |
| Apr 8 01:14:12 | 8m 59s | Target Practice | ♥ 1 | I wasn't ready for an aim trainer đ I need to brush up on my shooting skills. I like the distracting animals slowly panning across the screen, too. That was funny. I think if you added a leaderboard to this people would play again and again. I had an issue where a single click could count as both a hit and a miss, not sure what that was about. Also I think if you were good enough the game could go on forever as you could add time faster than it counted down. I had fun with it though. Well done. |
| Apr 8 02:06:48 | 52m 36s | DESCEND with CAUTION | ♥ 2 | score.jpg This is very impressive! I actually liked it more without the music, I felt the subtle sounds went well with the constant fear of death đ The launchers were the hardest part for me, I spent a long time doing it wrong and discovered there was a much easier way later on. I went in expecting something much less polished. The gravestones where you die were a nice touch. I feel like you accomplished exactly what you were hoping for with this, well done. |
| Apr 8 02:11:37 | 4m 49s | Submarine-Souls | ♥ 1 | Felt very retro. Feels great to play. Well done đ |
| Apr 8 02:18:36 | 6m 59s | Star in The Core | ♥ 1 | This felt like a fever dream. I was audibly saying "WTF is this" đ The star is relatable to me. Sometimes I try to do things too, but noodles. Well animated, cool music. I like how it got more intense as it went down. Good job đ |
| Apr 8 02:25:03 | 6m 27s | Meaning | ♥ 1 | I love word games. I did a few rounds scouring my brain for synonyms but there wasn't really any reward for getting one correct other than yet another word that I might not know any synonyms for đ I didn't know 'vitrolic' (was it supposed to be 'vitriolic'?) so I wished there was a skip function. Some of the words I typed didn't work when I expected them to, like 'demoralized' and 'disheartened' for 'discouraged'. I guess you could argue they're not true synonyms. That said, it's impressive for a 3 hour job. I haven't played anything else like it yet. Well done. |
| Apr 8 02:41:20 | 16m 17s | WanderWood | ♥ 0 | I watched you work on part of this on stream đ I think it's a thematic game and has very interesting and innovative puzzle mechanics, but I'm afraid a lot of it went over my head. It's beautifully animated and that helps build understanding of how you move between the layers. I love how you could see your shadow in the layer beyond to determine the position. I didn't really understand what the colorful grass meant for and I think at times I glitched into a layer I wasn't supposed to be in. I ended up getting one of the special collectibles accidentally. I think there's a ton here but it's a little too heady for me and I didn't finish. I needed a tutorial đ |
| Apr 8 23:34:11 | 20h 52m | Drop Into Hell | ♥ 1 | I liked playing this. You chose a good color palette and I liked the dissolve animations on the enemies + the floor at the end. The parallax and screen shake made the game feel great. I think others may have mentioned already but your health doesn't reset on a second run, so everything kills you in one hit :( Overall it's great, I think you could do a lot of fun stuff with this đ |
| Apr 8 23:45:28 | 11m 17s | Echoes of the Deep | ♥ 1 | I had thought of doing something like this too, very cool. Love how the music gets more intense as you go down. This is definitely one of the more thematic entries I've played. Well done đ |
| Apr 9 00:28:33 | 43m 05s | Knocking On Hell's Door | ♥ 1 | I got to floor 16! Very Doom-ish. I'm a full believer in having a railgun in each hand. I feel like the crux of my feedback would be "more of this, please" and I have a feeling you already have a million more things you'd add if you had the time. Cool to see another GDKO-er here. Great job đ |
| Apr 9 00:41:45 | 13m 12s | Through The Stars | ♥ 1 | I didn't get very far in this because I kept crashing my ship, but I like it. I wish there was some indicator where the station was. The steering wheel mode was hilarious. It took me a minute to realize you can steer AND move at the same time. Initially I went steer, launch, stop, repeat. The game opened up a bit after I figured it out. Cool game. Unique. Well done đ |
| Apr 9 00:52:57 | 11m 12s | Wizardry Catacombs | ♥ 0 | Is there any point to killing the enemies? After a certain point I ended up running past them instead of fighting đ The sound effects were hysterical. Maybe a little loud. Sounded like someone was sneezing repeatedly. I'd have loved to see more spells or ways to fight. Enemy variety and length was great. Music was especially good. Solid entry đ |
| Apr 9 01:03:38 | 10m 41s | ABSEIL | ♥ 1 | The swinging was hard to figure out. I'm still not fully sure I understand it âšī¸ I like the game concept and it's very thematic. Reminds me a little of Jusant in the opposite direction ;) |
| Apr 10 03:06:16 | 26h 02m | Igbi Goes Deep | ♥ 0 | I think you have some good ideas and presentation but I had a hard time figuring out what to do, and like others mentioned I found the text very hard to read. I also got stuck on walls fairly often so the platforming didn't feel as tight as it could. That said, the music is great and I like the 3D. I think your concept is unique so I'm going to give you good points in innovation. You did some cool stuff, good job đ |
| Apr 10 03:11:01 | 4m 45s | Sushi Pit | ♥ 0 | I'm unable to play this, it crashes my browser window :( |
| Apr 10 03:18:48 | 7m 47s | Buried Under Profits | ♥ 1 | This controls fantastically. Shooting feels good, great feedback when you hit the mines, and thematic too. The laser sharks killed me more than once. Cool entry overall đ |
| Apr 10 03:27:58 | 9m 10s | Drifting Granny | ♥ 1 | I liked this. The music and the atmosphere were calming. I liked granny showing her muscles đ |
| Apr 10 03:35:43 | 7m 45s | ONLY GO DOWN | ♥ 2 | 1:35 on 5 tries :) Animation + music are stunning. Love the visual style with the limited field of view and black and white. Parrying the walls and zooming around in space felt good. The only thing that didn't stick with me was falling to my death, I didn't feel like I had much control over that because I couldn't really see what was coming. I found spam clicking the entire time to be somewhat effective đ Overall very impressive with minor gripes đ |
| Apr 11 01:37:49 | 22h 02m | Shootwell | ♥ 1 | This has a great arcade feel. I kept playing again and again. Awesome first entry. Good sounds, feedback, easy mechanics. I think having some different guns or powerups would be cool. Well done đ |
| Apr 11 01:50:29 | 12m 40s | The Clockwork Heart | ♥ 1 | I loved this! Escape rooms are super fun and this one is well done. I liked being able to swap the gears for different operations. The statue puzzle was awesome, too. Great job đ |
| Apr 11 02:16:16 | 25m 47s | Depthshifter | ♥ 1 | I didn't quite finish. I got to the level with the tree but losing all my progress missing a jump was too much đ The floor is quite slippery. I had what seemed like inconsistency in where I'd spawn in the 3D world-- sometimes I'd do the exact same thing twice and get a different position. I think your concept is awesome and you nailed the theme. Someone else mentioned FEZ and that's immediately where my mind went too. I love puzzlers like this and you went very ambitious, great entry đ |
| Apr 11 02:28:14 | 11m 58s | Digdigdig | ♥ 1 | The animation and atmosphere is delightful! I felt I was missing something though as the enemies were very tough, I couldn't kill a single one. It felt very hard to avoid taking damage. Digging up secret items was fun, though. Cool game đ |
| Apr 11 23:20:08 | 20h 51m | Mirror City | ♥ 1 | This game is so sick. Absolutely love the puzzles and style. Immensely creative. I found myself wanting an undo button but the restart button was good enough. Bit of a brain burner! Very strong entry, amazing job đ Highest marks I've given so far. I'm envious of your ability to come up with something like this. win.jpg |
| Apr 11 23:37:44 | 17m 36s | Net. Sweeper | ♥ 1 | I feel like my success is largely dependent on my experience with Minesweeper in the past -- I'm not especially fast so restarting all the way from the beginning after a single mistake ruined this a bit for me :( That said it's impressive work for 48h. I'm afraid I didn't really understand the bullet mechanics. I got to level 3. |
| Apr 11 23:43:48 | 6m 04s | Sighetto: Dual Descent | ♥ 0 | The instructions zoomed past me before I had a chance to read them :( I think you have an interesting concept with switching between worlds but it didn't feel especially utilized in the level design. I think there's some good potential with the mechanic though, and the art was good. Good job. |
| Apr 11 23:50:12 | 6m 24s | Enter Exit | ♥ 0 | The animation and humor are fantastic đ It was a fun little puzzle figuring out which mushroom had which effect, though I wasn't sure what Vomit or Spores meant. On my first playthrough it froze after I gave the enemy the first mushroom and I had to restart, but it worked after that. Impressive đ |
| Apr 12 00:00:33 | 10m 21s | Punch Miner | ♥ 1 | Jump being on Z and not on space is killing me đ I use the same finger for Z as I do to move left with A, so I can't easily do both at the same time. Even with that though, I think your mechanics are well put together. The jumping and hanging feel great. The ropes were super fun to swing on once you got the hang of the hitbox. I didn't make it very far though because restarting from the beginning felt a little demoralizing, I could've used checkpoints, maybe one you can buy. Overall very solid, great work đ |
| Apr 12 00:12:21 | 11m 48s | A Memory of Her | ♥ 0 | This feels delightful to play! Great graphics, feedback, I even liked the little story bits. If anything it felt a little too easy, but that's probably for the best for a jam like this đ I like memory games so this was a hit for me. Great job đ |
