I tried on both chrome and firefox, but it ran very choppily and slowly, I couldn't progress very far. Is there a standalone?

@sypiac Added zip download verison.
i like a starman
You're really fighting against the controls for your life here, it's quite difficult but I like it. Pretty smart to turn the limitation of the controls into a gameplay feature. The upgrades are pretty cool, I really enjoyed the one that changes your controls into a driving wheel (which is somehow even more difficult) or the one that lets you get more turning radius (a godsend)! I managed to beat the game but it took qutie a few tries. This is good stuff. Had no performance issues playing the web version either.
Good job!😈
Overall, it's great job. But it kinda feels like you don't really need to collect anything to beat the game. Also, would really love to see some checkpoints or saves between stages.
Cool mechanic, but I found the controls a bit tricky
I really like the concept! I did find it a bit difficult in being able to tell what did and didn't count as hitting an object, but I overall really liked it!
I didn't get very far in this because I kept crashing my ship, but I like it. I wish there was some indicator where the station was. The steering wheel mode was hilarious.
It took me a minute to realize you can steer AND move at the same time. Initially I went steer, launch, stop, repeat. The game opened up a bit after I figured it out.
Cool game. Unique. Well done :clap:
The web version is still weird: I can't click on anything in Firefox or Chromium. Any chances of fixing it? Unity games usually have above average performance in web, so maybe there is a ways to fix the build and reupload it as a bug fix? You'll get more ratings and feedback this way.
It's a good idea, having to work out the angular velocity instead of the typical throttle game. I think it could very much benefit from having keyboard controls, most of my crashes were because of missclicking. Also, the non-permanent upgrades like the steering wheel make collecting stuff rather than moving towards the end a bit unrewarding. But with some balancing it's up for a really great and original game!!
@quasilyte Sorry for that. I collected feedback and fixed the build 5 times before everything didn't get better. This is my first published game so I would be very grateful if you described the essence of the problem or attached photos or video material! You can also download raw build on the ld website or in itch.io!
@xackii holy cow, I think I got it! I have a small 1920x1080 screen, but the game seem to run in a much larger canvas. I can only see ~60% of the screen if I don't enter the full screen mode (the bottom right button), but if I do, the clicks stop working as the game can't properly read the click location. It should be possible to reduce the resolution of the game for the web port, I think. It could even make the game run smoother as less pixels would mean less load on the browser. If I run the game in full screen, I would still screw the graphics anyway (if they were supposed to run in an ultrahd or whatever). For a pixel art game, ultrahd should not be a requirement. :D
So anyway, I tried playing it and fps is very low right now. Could you try using a much smaller canvas for the game in web build? It would solve the click issue + can help with fps. If not, at least I provided some new info. :D It could be useful for your next LD game as web builds are very handy for getting more feedback.
@quasilyte try it now
@xackii it works! I'll play & rate it in a moment.
☺️
A bit hard to me 0-0
Interesting concept, cool art.
- The game lags at the beginning, it eventually goes away but it's an added difficulty - I didn't like the way you were placed back to depth 1 after dying, I think letting the player finish the game could make them want to replay it to see some other upgrades or new places on the map - The controls seemed interesting, but were very annoying, I think it might have been better if you had to hold down the turn arrows instead of clicking on them. I was pleasantly surprised with the steering wheel until I got to operate it and wasn't able to turn and died instantly. - The leave station button is in the same place as the turning buttons and I accidentally clicked it while trying to turn at the very end into the station
The idea is really nice and I had great time playing! Yet there are some downsides. First, game seems too hard for jam IMO. Second, controls might need some work on. I believe it would be much nicer to be able to control rotation with arrows or smth. I also think that space, literally full of different objects doesn't really cover the theme. Nevertheless, great job!
Cool game! The controls were cool, but I didn't get the hang of them. Well done!
