LD55 — Summoning

Spirits of the Forest by aucguy 2024-04-15T15:30:36Z

Interesting game! It was a bit hard to grasp what to do, but that was interesting gameplay.

A few things that could improve the user experience: * If there are no enemies, automatically increase the turn counter. * Is there reason that the user needs to press the "level" button once they have enough mana to move to the next level? It seems like this could be automated. If you have enough mana, it seems there is no reason to want to stay on the current level * This could be really cool as an "auto battler"! If the game recognizes that the player has no moves available besides pressing the turn button, the turn could auto increment. * The sound volume was rather loud and could be turned down a lot. I normally have my computer volume around 30-40%, and this was at a good volume when I turned my volume to 4%

Hope to see you continue this idea!

Shadow Summoner by Tommy 2024-04-18T22:55:06Z

As you said on my submission, funny that we came up with the same title, but very different execution. This idea of fighting waves of enemies was interesting. It did seem like I held down E and nothing happened, not sure if that was intentional also it was hard to tell if any damage was being do and from my ally (or if the enemy and friendly were just stuck). If they were doing damage, I think a visual indicator would help communicate this.

The sound is really good! It was nice that you had a tutorial button in the game, but that screen didn't say what runes actually do.

One minor bug: when I died, the sounds of enemies attacking me kept playing.

Great entry overall!

Summon Creativity I by karln 2024-04-16T22:43:02Z

This was a fun little game. I like how meta you made things both with the ending and the skeletons. Minor improvement is that some of the halls could have been a bit shorter or the player walking speed could have been a bit faster. Can't wait to see the second version since this had a 1 in it

Artisan by Iluvatar 2024-04-15T15:57:01Z

The graphics and audio of the game were really nice!

For the gameplay, I was a bit confused at first since the objects I was meant to interact with kind of blended into the background. It felt like the player movement could have been a little bit faster.

At first I didn't notice the UI in the upper left indicating how much of each material that I needed. A nice touch would have been to tell the player which materials they were lacking when they went to the workbench without all the materials.

Hope to see this expanded in the future!

Summoner's Arena by Kurakurture 2024-04-23T02:04:06Z

Feels really polished and had fun gameplay. This was one of the first games of the jam that I wanted to keep playing. It did seem that pressing R to restart broke at some point while playing (it didn't work anymore after using it like once). I eventually got stuck on the big gray boss (he kept stun locking me against the edge).

Really fun game!

Gander and the Elemental Dungeon by burnedkirby 2024-04-15T15:41:04Z

Interesting game combining turn based combat with guitar hero! As others mentioned, parrying was a bit confusing. I wasn't sure if the location of my weapon was related to the parry location. The first time the text about parrying showed up, the textbox was kind of long, and was not visible for that long, so I didn't get to read it entirely before it went away.

Overall, pretty polished game!

Your game seems to marked as html5, but there is only a downloadable version on itch

Streets of Mage! by Human Writes Code 2024-04-15T15:17:10Z

Cool game! Not sure if it was lag related or a glitch, but I was able to spam spacebar and go against the right side of the screen (seemed like forever). The screen then got flooded with enemies (not sure if that was supposed to happen)

It seems like the goal of 1000 kills is a bit high. If the enemies were not meant to flood in, that would take a very long time/ the gameplay was getting a bit repetitive.

Good sound effects and art for a jam entry!

Weather wizard by fabonacci 2024-04-25T01:29:07Z

Cool game! Very original and interesting puzzle mechanic!

Mable’s Realm by yurgio 2024-04-18T23:13:16Z

Nice art style and easy to grasp gameplay! It was nice seeing a new take on the classic "bejeweled" type of game. Maybe I didn't play long enough, but it would be nice if the game sped up/gave larger pieces as time went on to make things more difficult.

Three Sigils by galactical 2024-04-16T23:24:47Z

Cool game! Always fun to see what people make with puzzle script. Between figuring out the three different puzzle mechanics and solving the puzzles, I almost spend too long on it haha (I got 2 levels past the first place where the 3 mechanics were used together)

The Unlikely Messenger by T90. 2024-04-18T23:33:55Z

Interesting game with some story before the main gameplay. I might have missed it, but there did not seem to be a hotkey to advance the text besides clicking. This was kind of annoying and hurt to click through. Same for the combat, spam clicking like that is how you get hand injuries. Perhaps spacebar for advancing the text/ shooting could have worked better?

FoodieBuddie by Duhan 2024-04-20T23:49:59Z

Cool idea for a game. The tutorial screen was a bit too much of an information dump to really understand it all. One tip I've learned is that players don't really like seeing a wall of text, its better to introduce things gradually.

The sound and graphics were really nice! Did this happen to be Godot 3 (instead of 4)? I noticed the game seemed to load really fast in the browser

Cool game!

Cat Wizard by Lily Hubbard 2024-04-18T23:49:51Z

It's been a while since I've seen a game that required key combinations for different actions. Good job!

Star Stone by UngarBlapp 2024-04-18T23:41:44Z

Fun platformer. It was a bit inconvenient to press P with my other hand, perhaps the C key or another one closer to the left hand would have been more convenient. Cool game!

Tech Raider by BreakfastGun 2024-04-20T23:37:37Z

Cool game! There seemed to be an issue the first time when I tried to open doors, but maybe I didn't hold space bar long enough? I really like the shadow effect! Was that the built in light that Godot offers, or done in a custom way? (would have been a cool effect in my game haha)

Mystic Grove - SummoningSouls by Alfredwooden 2024-04-15T14:59:13Z

Cool to see a game using the isometric style! As others said, seems like you can only move around. The graphics look good though!

Ghost’s Summoning War by Progz 2024-04-15T16:04:47Z

Interesting idea!

At first I didn't see the buttons in the upper left, and was just running away by clicking in the maze.

I noticed that the player was able to get stuck in some spots (clicking in the grid didn't move me anymore).

Cool idea for an "endless wave" game!
