Glad to see you're using godot. A shame that my character cannot move :skull:

roburab 2024-04-16 22:44

Can't give a rating, because I can't move. Neither controller nor gamepad do anything. Will check back to see if it gets fixed.

Edit: game got fixed

Awsome graphics!

Hello @roughskin, @roburab and @gnum. Sorry i had issues with godot's html5 export. I fixed it and you can test it again if you want. Thank you !

roburab 2024-04-17 14:24

I'm really glad you fixed it! It's a really cool concept and well executed (I tried to freeze the water, while I was in it, but you thought of that). The interactions with the floating wood was a bit janky, but I really enjoyed the game and would like to play more. Good job

Yes, it’s short, but the idea itself is very good. I went through with pleasure. Well done!

the weather mechanics are cool, would love to see what kind of levels you could come up with if you had the time.

maverickmiddleton 2024-04-23 10:54

Loved the mechanics for the weather and the physics overall! The stylistic graphics and gameplay flow were lots of fun to play through!

schadocalex 2024-04-23 10:54

I like the level design and art, but you could add used a different green for the player. Any tip to go out of the water? I'm stuck and definitely want to continue. Please @ me

I really like this. I played with water/ice a bit in my entry but yours is a lot smarter than mine, being able to move the water around before freezing is really interesting. All the different interactions the spells have feels like a good backbone to something bigger really, would be cool to see where you could take it. I like the art style as well, everything is really cohesive and I'm a fan of the colours as well. Would have liked to play more it but short and well executed is a great way to make a jam game so good job!

Thank you all for your messages !! @schadocalex, I'm sorry you was blocked. You can double jump out of the water, and if the water is too low, you can rise it up pressing the key 1. Tell me if it helps you.

Funny little game! I like the way you interpreted the theme, very original!

Cool game! Very original and interesting puzzle mechanic!

baluj 2024-04-25 16:29

I like the mechanics, but it's very short. Good job!

simun182 2024-04-26 14:19

I love the way you slowly introduce games mechanics, seems like a fun little demo for a bigger project, good job man !

rossk 2024-04-27 16:00

Agree with much of the above-- you did a good job introducing the weather control mechanics, almost like the tutorial level of a lager game. There were times where the scepter got stuck in the background, but otherwise nice work.

I really did like the approach of summoning the elements. As you mentioned yourself, it would have been more cohesive if you had added music. But time is always the issue in these jams! It would have been fun to see some bad "consequences" of your summoning power, e.g. freezing yourself in the water by the crates or drowning the whole area. But overall it was a fun short game with a cute artstyle. Well done!

Pretty fun game. I think this could be fun if you expanded it with more possible summons other than the 3 you currently have. Its kind of awkward to have them on the number keys, so it might be worth looking into an alternate control scheme, maybe on-screen buttons if you aren't planning on using the mouse?
