@josefnpat Ok.
This game was really neat. Notes:
- The graphics are very very nice. It's a very visually appealing game. - Some sounds have very audible room noise when they play. - Almost all sound effects were 100% panned to my left speaker? - The gameplay is pretty original as a concept.
This one was cool! Notes:
- The art is sick! I love it! - The sound design is really good for the most part, but there's some parts that feel a bit sporadic or out of place. - The game was a tiny bit confusing at first from the lack of tutorial. - There's a typo in the intro sequence... ("You Now What?") - The intro sequence, that aside, was a really nice touch!
Cowboys and cards? Hell yeah!
The game would really benefit from some music I think. The little animation they do when they fire is awesome, and I love it.
Neat Game. Notes:
- The Menu UI seemed to bug at times and played the select noise multiple times really quickly. Ear pain! - The text on the UI seems a bit bland, but it does get the job done. - The text does a good job explaining the mechanics. - The collision doesn't seem to work properly when colliding with walls horizontally. - One of the sound effects are really loud. I think it's for the day/night cycle but I can't pinpoint it - His walking sprite is glorious.
This game was nice! Here's my notes:
- The player's collision works nice against angled walls and the like. Good job on that! - The weapon sprites look really well! - The music is sweet. - The camera moves too fast... It's instant, actually. I'd suggest adding some linear interpolation as the others have suggested. - The gunshots in some weapons (especially the shotgun) are too loud.
Cool, dude. This one was really interesting. Notes:
- The dialogue sound is REALLY loud! - The minigames are really, really cool. - The genre change at the end surprised me and was pretty awesome to play. - It's a lot like Mario Party!
Overall, this one is really cool. I really enjoyed it.
When you kill people and it cuts off their scream when they disappear, that's hilarious. Fun game.
Cool game.
- The view could use a bit of zooming in. It's hard to see all the very small sprites.
@darylsteak Built in monitor on my Acer Nitro 5. Basically just about 17 inches and 1080p
I really enjoyed this. I may be dumb but it took me a bit to get the hang of actually doing stuff. I really like the aesthetic of the old Mac type thing you've got going on. I dunno if the background noise was intentional but it adds to it too lol. Anyway, this was great!
YOU GET NO HELP
Wow. I reaaaaaallly liked this one! Here's my notes:
- I wish it had music. - The shoot sound effect got pretty repetitive, pretty quickly. - The movement feels a bit slow.
But overall, damn, such a creative take on it, and it was done really well! The tutorial was great too.
Hi there, I think this game is pretty good!
Here's some critiques I had:
1) The art seems a bit blurry. I believe this was made in GameMaker? If so, make sure you toggle off Interpolate Colours between Pixels, as it seems to blur pixel art.
2) Sound effects would go a long way in terms of game feel. Music would be nice too!
3) The particle effects are quite nice, but the bright contrasting colours can make it a bit hard to see everything else. That's a minor gripe, though.
Overall, I think it was quite nice. The trailing particle effects of the ship when you move look killer. Keep at it!
I dunno if it was just me but the music started really loud. Good, just... loud. lol
The gameplay is basic, had to read the about/help sections to make sure I wasn't missing anything -- That aside, with a few more mechanics it would actually be quite solid. Art/sound aren't bad themselves.
I like the way the game feels with exception of:
- It seems to be running at 30 fps? - Related to the above point, it's a bit hard to aim precisely as the angle changes too fast and the framerate can't keep up.
The music seemed a bit sporadic in places, and some of the sound effects (the lightning strike in particular) are way too loud.
The animation of the sprites, especially the character falling, is very nice. Charging an arrow feels responsive and it's very easy to tell where it's going to go.
My favorite part of this was the intro. Notes:
- The intro's dialogue seemed... sort of stilted, and I heard some background noise. It's kinda charming and I don't know why. It's a plus though! - The knight moves so slowly! Really, really slowly! - The shadow animation doesn't look connected to the player.
Overall though... I really like the character behind this game.
I agree with everything @kostasvs said but really in particular the lack of mouselook is my biggest problem.
The camera started waaaaay too close to the player! The music is really jarring as well
