Nice Game! It actually was quite fun to play, and the camera control was very smooth.

If anything, it would be great if you could shoot a bit faster.

But awesome game. Well Done!

I love it! It's cute and a great idea for the theme! I think that an overhead camera would've worked better as I quite often got shot from behind and didn't know what was hitting me. I like the little tutorial area, it really helps introduce you rather than throwing you in.

I had a lot of fun with this. I got all the way to a dollar. At that level it was madness with all of the coins flying and shots being fired, a near constant stream. I wonder what this would be like with more obstacles to maneuver around. I was able to get some serious height, getting back to the original shelf.

Wow. I reaaaaaallly liked this one! Here's my notes:

- I wish it had music. - The shoot sound effect got pretty repetitive, pretty quickly. - The movement feels a bit slow.

But overall, damn, such a creative take on it, and it was done really well! The tutorial was great too.

I like the coin-flip movement. That's creative. It'd be cool if you could change the force of the jump though.

Increasing your currency value and changing coins was also neat.

I felt like I had to fight against the camera though; it was sluggish. The sound effects were also pretty loud; does their volume account for distance to the camera? It's hard to tell.

If you wanted to expand the characters further, you could switch to Canadian currency. Canada has $1 and $2 coins.

Overall, good job!

Hilarious! Great for theme and easy to play. Really enjoyed getting the 50c coin so I could clip outside the map. Interesting balancing the movement with aiming all your shots, adding that small factor of skill. Would be interesting to see this as a MMO game.

davidsheadgames 2019-05-02 03:02

@ransom I was considering other currencies as a future extension. I'll keep Canada in mind

davidsheadgames 2019-05-02 03:03

@mdwade Yeah, it often becomes that when I toss sound in at the last minute. I might make some improvements post-jam. I'll also see if I can find or make some music for the post-jam version of the game too.

Neat unique game. I made it up to John Quarter (30 cents). The flipping was really well done and felt authentic. It seemed like the best strategy for me was to keep flipping and shooting, otherwise you will start having too many coins gang up on you. I liked the piggy bank at the beginning, and was hoping that somehow it was more involved with the game.

moldymagnet 2019-05-02 03:40

Would have been nice to have music or to at least vary the pitch of sound effects. Pretty neat game though, it had me guessing for a second if it was multi-player :)

afroant 2019-05-02 04:57

Had more fun with this than I'd like to admit. The jumping was really fun. Getting to the 50 cent piece felt real good. I liked reading all the placards. RIP arcade

Good job!

Fantastic game, very fun and creative :-D

al-bueche 2019-05-05 02:50

Very unique and fun little game. I really like the play on words.

I did have some difficulties with the camera, but that's to be expected with all the jumping around. I frequently felt it pointed the exact opposite direction I wanted, but that may have been because I was trying to hide with my back to a corner. I made it up to almost $2 with that tactic.

The increased jump was an interesting feature, but it got a bit out of hand at the half-dollar level. It was so extreme, it made it difficult to go anywhere specific. The half-dollar also started to show issues with the shot sound effect, as it gets repeated so much it starts to become a vague background drone.

balance686 2019-05-06 04:32

Interesting idea! I can't recall playing a game like this before so that's always refreshing. I enjoyed the jumping and shooting mechanics. Jumping up over another coin and raining down on it is pretty satisfying haha. I think having the camera rotate with A and D would probably work better because I found using the mouse a bit off. Also that shoot sound effect rapidly triggering over and over was a bit grating. Good job on this I had fun!

luckydaisy 2019-05-06 05:17

Really like the minimal movement controls. Felt really nice to hop around and fire some shots at folks down in the pit. Would be fun to add a kill counter + some other fighting mechanics (the more ridiculous the better).

Well done!

Great take on the theme. Fun for a bit. Camera was just awful for me. The worst was when I'd get near a wall, because then the camera won't do much but stare at the wall with my back to the enemies. I got to 50 cents, whereupon the chaos, the high jumps, and the repetitive noise was just too much to take. Amusing start, needs a ton of polish and some more points of interest, thanks for sharing!

norris-eldridge 2019-05-06 18:00

Good work! Love this take on the theme and I quite like the overall simple style / the "tutorial" cards. And of course chaos is always good fun :)

rocketraccoons 2019-05-07 08:06

I personally wouldve considered a camera movement like in 3rd person shooter that does not require you to hold the right mouse button, but aside from the already pointed out awful camera, overall a brilliant game. i wouldve probably done cuts on the tutorial part and added some more fighting content like killcounter and a more intuitive upgrade system, but thats just me. honestly, well done, i enjoyed playing this a lot.

just a little remark at the end: dare to lower the volume of the sounds. i had to turn my headphones way down, which happens close to never. having obnoxiously loud sounds is probably the most prevalent problem in gamejams. noone has time for sound options and most people think that you can just lower your PCs volume, but having to go down to a quater of the sound level i usually operate is a little too much :s

drlizard 2019-05-07 15:34

unfortunatelly i had problem with anti-virus and were unable to play :/

avon 2019-05-07 17:28

This was super fun to play, almost couldn't stop playing it but decided to stop at $1. Very creative idea and implementation. Agree with others that it would be better if you could move the camera without holding RMB, and maybe use scroll wheel for zoom. The shooting sound also got a bit annoying when every coin started spamming it.

davidsheadgames 2019-05-09 01:23

@drlizard Can you send me any details about the anti-virus that's having issues with the file and what it's reporting? That'd be much appeciated.

jezzamon 2019-05-16 07:39

Nice, this game is a lot of fun :)

I think the graphics were a little difficult to read, in that it was hard to tell the different coins apart (and not everyone lives in the US and knows US currency!!). But I had fun flipping around, including when the whole game started going crazy.

I think it would've been nice to be able to control how far you jump, OR to be able to jump off walls in a slightly more powerful/glitchy way that lets you get back up to where you started. That sounds fun :P

2019-05-20 09:42

This game is fun and the flip coin is well thought !

I'm agree with others for some graphics details and the repetitive sound, but it's a nice entry !
