LD57 — Depths

Neon Crawl by ping78 2025-04-10T19:53:24Z

Really cool idea and the visuals are beautiful!

I like the procedural level generation and I think the dynamic/mechanic that you automatically face towards the center of the room after changing the room is interesting, as you are ready for combat on enter.

I liked the "boss" on the second floor, but I think I found the "boss" on the first floor the hardest.

Archeologic by auxC 2025-04-10T22:58:40Z

Whoa, this got me really hooked. Finally made it to the bottom! Took a long time. Found it hard at first, but it was a good level of difficulty. The randomness that influences luck was about right.

Other than that: Cool and cute graphics, great audio (the music!). The controls were sometimes a bit tricky (grabbing a block and having the right direction chosen), but rest was great!

Treasures by mgear 2025-04-09T17:47:06Z

Whoa, I got flashbacks to QWOP! :)

The controls feel like they have a fair logic to them, but finding it is the real challenge! It was fun though. Sometimes I got stuck on the bottom of the sea, facing down and had to restart. Took me more than half a dozen attempts to get to the boat. And then I was *on* the boat, not at the ladder, and had to get off again first, haha.

For 3.5 hours, well done!

Dark Ness by Soul Grinder 2025-04-10T20:30:17Z

This was great! I had chills. :) I spotted Nessie a couple of times. The tension-inducing build-up in (between) each of the mini-games was great! Loved the bits of spoken audio.

Thanks for the hint on... time duration... at the end. Checked it out and it was a great additional reward for fi(ni)shing.

Unfortunate Mishaps of Subsurface Uranium Mining by pierogo 2025-04-10T20:47:40Z

This was amazing! Not easy, but great to play. How did some people get so high scores? :astonished:

Well rounded game! Gameplay, graphics, audio. Love the style!

This really feels like a game that is played on competitions. There's really much to do and to take care of at the same time, but it's fair and you can get better at it, and that is really rewarding.

Now gotta go, need to shovel some uranium into a bin.

Project: Coreline by AlvaroRomeral 2025-04-10T21:35:25Z

I like it a lot! Got the hang quickly and managed to save the world. :muscle: The graphics are nice and the whole concept/background of the game has a lot of potential! The idea of 7 sites per hexagon is refreshing. (Feels nasty to plan and implement. :)

I see you had a lot more ideas than you had time. Hills, water, large building menu. Would be curious where you would be taking the project, if you put more time after LD57 into it!

The depths of Jam dungeon by Jernskegg 2025-04-10T21:50:10Z

Cool game so far! Please keep at it. I think it's now at a great point to develop further! You got a few systems already in place, where adding more things that behave similar is often manageable effort, but increases fun by a lot.

For example: You could try adding another level, which has not only the blob-enemy, but also another type of enemy additionally on the map. Different graphics (even if it's just the same blog in green) and different HP. That variation makes it interesting. You got collision detection and item pickup already in place, so maybe you could have a golden sword (or so) lying around, that amps up your attack value per hit. Or item potions (next to the ones that already drop) that allow you to hit faster for a few seconds, i.e. shorter cooldown between hits.

Connection 2559 by csnxs 2026-05-08T20:37:23Z

Interesting game! I like the idea and I think the execution is well-made too. I like the idea that you have to travel and place beacons. I find it hard to avoid hostile bullets and don't get very far after the first beacon, but I think that's okay. Maybe there could be some ship-repair mechanic integrated somehow? :)

Happiness by OddballDave 2026-05-08T21:39:44Z

This was a lot of fun! Love it. :D Made it to the end. Everyone's happy now.

I liked the mechanics. It was sometimes a bit finnicky to get the Drop or Pickup buttons to appear, but all worked out. I like the humour and the... surprise visits were nice. Music was great and the sounds effects awesome. :)

!> Had a good laugh when I understood the snake.

I experienced a wonderful bug. I cannot reproduce, so you have to take my word for it: When I dropped the lady (longing for :baby:) on the guy left of her and picked up both of them, the somehow kept floating and spinning very rapidly in the air. When I hovered over them with my cursor, they made their respective sounds. It was wonderful. :D But really I cannot reproduce this and everything worked flawlessly.

Precious Spacimens by Prakkus 2026-05-08T20:24:07Z

I like it a lot! I enjoyed the narration and choices I could make. It's a very calm game, the music supports this. I wonder what the maximum number of species is one could get. A lot of love went into the graphics and it really shows! It runs very well and invited me to explore in multiple rounds.

Sparkle Sweeper by tetrapteryx 2026-05-08T20:59:06Z

What a lovely little game! I love it a lot. I think the basic idea of the game is simple, but lends itself very well, makes great use of the theme, and the execution is amazing. The visuals are cute, the upbeat music is cool (and enjoyable in a loop!). I like the progression in difficulty.

INTERSIGNAL by zimny11 2026-05-06T21:02:40Z

Very cool puzzle game! Took me a round to take in the rules of the game, but I liked it. I think the mechanics are very balanced and supporting different strategies. Played several rounds!

Panik's Trip by Teto 2026-05-06T20:58:40Z

> That's not water!

Wow, this was really cool! Beautiful artwork and music! Great take on a deck building game. I did not find it easy and make it very far, but that's a good thing and I happily retried it! The sanity mechanic was a wonderful suprise. I am curious now what's more to come in later stages.

Respond to Signal 404 by suzysu 2026-05-08T21:15:03Z

Pretty impressive game for an LD jam! It's very moody (music contributes a lot) and the artwork is really cool. At times I found it a bit unclear where to go next, but wandering around helped keeping me on my toes. :)

Signal Boost by WonkaBird 2026-05-08T20:49:47Z

Interesting game! The robot model and the scenery are amazing! I like the idea, I think there is a lot of potential to go from here. I got until 1058! :)
