LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Rose-Coloured Dungeon Life by Junber 2018-04-29T16:22:04Z

I really dig the art of the monsters, it looks very polished, but that sadly cannot be said about the in-game graphics. I know the time limit is harsh, but the UI and pixel art could be improved upon. I enjoy the setting, the idea and the main character, that fluffy guy has potential. Not a fan of the combat system, its very punishing in a really not fair way. I can see lots of hard work behind the game and I am pretty sure you can rock even harder with a skilled designer!

Oooh, it's a physics game mixed with a platformer, I love that combo! Maybe you should create a prototype where you don't have to switch to the platforming part, but can do the platforming all the time when messing with the blocks. I am sure you could create lots of puzzles that way.

10 Second Script by Gabe 2018-04-29T18:45:31Z

I like the idea a lot, it's a fun tool for creative excercise, I just feel the 10 seconds is by far not enough. I would love to use it on a daily basis to train my mind, but more options would be welcome.

Don't leave me by lolfrad 2018-04-29T18:19:57Z

It's a sweet puzzle game, I can definitelly see this as a full mobile title. The mood would improve with sounds and music a lot, but it's still an exceptional entry!

I really admire people who decide to make a boardgame for Ludum Dare, as I know how little feedback those usually get. I am quite fond of the idea and I would love to try out the game for myself. I always struggle with balancing when designing a board game, so props to you for not being afraid of that!

I like the combination, it's a cool little puzzle game. It's fun, but a little design advice would be to let the player choose if he wants the board cleared from towers when he loses. I want to be able to freely move the towers around and experiment with the outcome. It wouldn't hurt the game at all.

Man, I enjoyed the pixel art a lot! Really polished and professional. The game itself plays a bit slow. I know it's probably because of the dark atmosphere, but I wanted to explore faster. The creepy cat is my favourite design.

Totempo by TheFunAttic 2018-04-29T18:03:18Z

It's such a shame this game doesn't get more ratings. Sure, it has a few flaws, but it's very nicely done and I enjoy the concept quite a lot. It's a bit confusing at first and it takes time to get used to the instrument management, but it's catchy. Amazing how much art you managed to produce!

Sky Serpent Paint by Tuomo 2018-04-29T17:08:11Z

Awesome visuals! The game would work better if the dragon was much faster. Dynamic gameplay can make a big difference.

Bearly Fishing by Psychedelia 2018-04-24T10:44:51Z

Cool little game, I really enjoyed the russian feel. Because everyone knows all bears are russian, right? I liked the chosen color palette, but I would very much like to know the difference in the two bears. Is the difference only made by the power? Some attack animation of the sprites would also be nice, as it could be much more satisfying to kill those peskky fishes. Domination ending is 10/10!

Baseball Nightmare by Amazura 2018-04-27T21:05:10Z

Pretty impressive work for one person and first Ludum Dare on top of that! It would be nice, if the shooting was faster and more dynamic, as it was really hard to keep up with the zombies. I almost never missed, but it was hard for me to get above 25 no matter what I did.:( But I enjoyed it greatly!

Space Captain Rodriguez by CalebLewis 2018-04-29T19:01:46Z

I really like the idea behind this, but I am not sure it works well in practice. It's very hard to get into and in the beginning the player just struggles to memorize what buttons shoots what. Some kind of slow introduction levels would definitelly help. Also it was very difficult for me to keep track of the dialogue, and that's a shame, since I want to get to know the girls better.:) But I can tell your team is very talented, so keep up with game development, I am pretty sure you come up with many awesome projects in the future!

Pinball Gardener by KianaMosser 2018-04-29T16:52:21Z

Very nice entry. The connection between the two gameplay parts could be much deeper, but I enjoyed it a lot. I think Pokémon pinball could be a great inspiration if you want to work with the concept further, because I definitelly think there is potential. Some designing details could be improved, like you could move the resources to the field with drag-and-drop function aswell. As for the art, I can see it was created by a very skilled artist, and thats why it bugs me, that the pixel art is kinda rushed and not precise in some parts. I know it's a game jam, but it would boost the overall visual feeling of the game so so much!

The Diligent Idle by Nightmark 2018-04-24T12:18:37Z

Really fun game. I would prefer if I could run over the tent, as it is really annoying to walk around it when the waves are coming from all sides. A little bit of polishing and it could be a really catchy title!

Tempo Quest by Pixel-boy 2018-04-29T17:02:31Z

I seriously have no idea how you managed to create this within the short time frame of a game jam, but I am seriously astonished. It's fun, albeit a bit repetitive, I can see it work with a bit more content. Love the color palette.

Date Night by Darby Costello 2018-04-29T16:36:35Z

Dude, the mood and graphics are a blast! I enjoyed that a lot. Didn't expect the humor, it made me really smile. Gameplay was a bit chaotic for me, as I struggled to find out what was I supposed to do. I see potential.

Super Platformer RPG by Silent Tower Games 2018-04-27T20:53:45Z

Very nice experiment, altrough I don't think the genres really match well (but the theme was "incompatible genres", so I guess thats not a bad thing, haha!) For me personally, the turn based part bothered me a bit, since I greatly enjoyed the dynamic of the platformer. Could probably work after some adjustments. Still a nice entry.
