Nice blend between rogue-like and visual sim! Graphics are super nice. Only feedback I can give is the bullets seem to spawn at the foot of the character. Maybe character can be moved down or the spawn position can be moved up a little to make it look like the projectiles are spawning from the gun instead of the foot. I've also can't seem to buy any upgrades. Maybe it's a bug?

Good game ! Liked the parallel between action sequences and visual novel choices :D
Really cool art style. The fusion of narrative and roguelike mechanics reminds me of the Hand of Fate game series. Nice work
Yes projectiles from wrong place are bug. Sadly there was no time to fix it :-D
Love it, love the art especially! Fun story
It was a nice game I do like the in game artstyle alot
This seems a large project, and contain the professional arts. There are a kinda fun dialog on background (girl destroy monsters and boyfriend has a dumb react like it's a very normal job) and the full story. Game play is very simple (for now i guess) but it's good looking. To be so colorful game with a funny-based dialog, this title has a still pretty dark themes on the background, though...
Why block the progress when not enough scre points? It would be so much better if there were three options in dialogues, "good", "neutral" and "bad", and "good" and "neutral" options became unavailible if the previous night Alex didn't defeat her stress. =(
Gameplay itself is cool and dialogues are brilliant.
love the artstyle and music!
Interesting mix of different gameplay elements. Very unexpected. I used to be a Love2D dev myself. It's good to see love devs around.
Cool idea. I really like the art too.

That's a gem right there. And I don't put it lightly, I really mean it. Although I didn't see any correlation between dialogue and shmup sequences gameplay-wise, it may very well be implemented further down the line. (simply having more dialogue options, used as difficulty settings in the next shmup sequence, adding up each time, let the worse one finish Alex shooting Jeremy in the head PLEASE) Did only two runs of the game to see how both of options in dialogues went. This guy is so toxic, I LOVE it.
For once, it is good prevention very well implemented. We really need more of this in the whole industry. Gameplay may need more work, tho. Please keep up the great work, push this game further than a simple jam entry.
@lukein Thank you for amazing review. Dialog does change what happens with slimes for example 1st option in 3rd dialog will lower amount of points you receive by 25% or 2nd option in 4th dialog will reduce amount of time between spikes by 18%. Lets hope that we will be able to expand on this game in future
This was really such a good game. I love how you blend two genres together with the narrative and the core gameplay. I really would love to see this expand upon after the jam entry. Just really creative stuff right there. The art style is top notch too
I really like the art, cool game
Nice game, the only thing bugging me was the shooting, is kinda inaccurate or some sort.

Jesus, Alex, dump this loser already! XD
I played three days and called it quits after that. The arena shooter sequences are sincerely some of the best I've played in a LD project, but I never could make enough points to get more than the most basic-tier upgrade. I'm a little unclear how upgrades work, on that note - are they cumulative? Like, each time I score at least 3000 points, I get a buff to my gun?
@ryusui yes they are. If you get at least second tier getting points gets much more easy.
I love the graphics, the game is well balanced between the differents phases. Concept is fresh :)
Very unique idea. Can be a bit hard to score enough points to continue.
Cool idea! I like the integration of the two gameplay elements, the shooting sections were fun and fair and I didn't mind failing and trying again, though I do think it would have have felt a little more finessed if you drew some more obvious link between the two genres through the VN scenes (I think that might have been beyond the scope of the jam and I still understood what you were doing, so maybe my way would have been boring?). Side note: I think I encountered a bug that forced multiple music tracks to play at once and it was a little disorienting to listen to, I couldn't tell you what might have caused it (I was playing the "fixed" version). All that having been said, cool concept with great art and I had a really nice time playing it!
@zacharypinkham thank you for your comment. We were able to encounter this bug as well and will be easy to fix in later update. For now we just hope for us much feedback as possit to make this game truly amazing in future.
@openfungames Sounds good, I look forward to playing it again then!
Great mix, the rogue like part was a little repetitive for me but despite that fun and challenging!
Good game, the story absorbed me. The phasing with two different gameplay mechanics is a nice touch, although the connection between the story and the action is unclear.
I played the jam version and the score screen looked like this: b45ac96560ef2c5c587a9177a06a7bf2.png Looking at your screenshot there's something wrong  I played the jam version. Looking at the results I get the impression the spikes are actually good. Not sure if that is the case, though.
Aesthetics are great. I love the graphics, but for me the pixelated assets just don't work with the rest. Music is fitting to the atmosphere. And looking at the comments, your choices do affect the battles in some way. That's good.
Good work, I enjoyed it!

Nice mix of game genre (^w^). Is 'asking about Jeremy week-end whith his friend" the end for now ? After that it seems to loop back to the day before (^^). (And yeah, Alex (>_<)... This smell like toxix relationship right here. Bad Jeremy. baaad.) Good game.

The menu is really cute. The art is very great. I like how you put togheter parts more frenetics (the shooting part) and slower one (the graphic novel). It's like to take a breath before dive in the water again. It's really great and I had much fun playing it. I wish I could play as Jeremy =(
The mix between visual novel and top down combat phases is interesting, but I don't think it's well coherent with the story as it is right now (for exemple, it's a bit weird that the setup of the fight is in a kind of medieval dungeon when the story between the characters happens in our universe). The fight works pretty well, it's not that hard and the characters and animations are neat but I still find that there's a little lack of feedbacks and game-feel elements (such as screenshakes, vfx on the weapon etc.) I didn't really enjoy being stuck at a level if my score didn't reach an expected number, I think there's no real link to the story (it could have been fun if the score would impact your future dialogs without stopping you to progress in the story) Otherwise, you did a great job !
