LD44 — Your life is currency

Venture-Out! by 64mega 2019-04-29T20:59:56Z

Practically a masterpiece, I am impressed by how well this 48 hr game is honestly. Only recommendation from reading your comments is try not to strain yourself during the jam, I personally even set time aside to play other games and rest :joy: But I guess you learned this the hard way.

Idle Idol by Daniel Moreno 2019-05-04T01:03:51Z

There is nothing I can add or say that 10 other haven't by now. But I just wanted to say that this game is amazing and one of if not the best I've played this LD. Amazing idea and execution. Art, audio all meld extremely well, and the difficulty curve is near perfect. Truly exceptional, I wouldn't have even guessed that its was made in a game jam. I feel like I need to leave some constructive criticism because I would love for this to get even better. Only small gripe which might be intentional is that there are no audio cues when you almost lose or at milestones such as unlocking new building. Some more visual flair could help improve this amazing game even further.

The Gold Digger by Jiri Hysek 2019-05-04T00:16:31Z

Really nice submission. The puzzle mechanics are very interesting. Overall very solid work

One More Drop by ZAX 2019-04-30T22:08:19Z

This wa a really nice game, I enoyed it alot. But I do feel like it was a bit too easy, and the time enemies took to spawn was too long. Other than that this was really good.

Blood-Tied TD by Raphael Maia 2019-04-29T19:51:27Z

Excellent game, the art and audio are amazing

Temple of Sacrifice by Dooda 2019-04-29T19:37:49Z

@raphael-maia Thank you I am glad that you think so, And I agree, I should have dedicated more time to polish.

Thank you everyone for your comments, I'm glad to see the responses, will definitely try out all your games

Temple of Sacrifice by Dooda 2019-04-30T22:05:49Z

Thanks to everyone for the feedback

@fractal Thank you, I updated the description here to mention the upgrade, it is my fault that it didn't make it into the ingame tutorial, not to mention that the tutorial isn't very good .

@64mega Thank you, and I agree that the game balance is off. It grows linearly but it should start slower and escalate more later on. People complained for it being both to hard and to easy for this reason I believe.

@lagrume-masque Thank you  It was a very late addition, but well worth it, glad you liked it.

@twobythree Glad that you liked it  , and I do agree about the music. I wanted to make a soft theme for the main menu and a more intense one, but didn't have enough time and ended up just using the main menu theme ingame.

@a-coltzz I agree, audio isn't my strong suite, but I felt like anything was better than nothing, here's hoping it didn't hurt the experience .

@kunonooni Thank you I'm glad to see that you think so  I hopefully intend on expanding on this game, it was fun to make and I am very happy to see everyone's feedback. And yes I explained most things badly  But priests basically heal you since any unit that you don't attack or defend with adds to your HP, but Priests add the most.

@victorcrafty Thank you, and yes I tried to distinguish game important text in red, but overall the game has way to much unnecessary text.

@pawciu I think stacks is a better term true. This matters the most for hoplites since you can lose some of them during attacks. To be honest the numbers aren't perfectly balanced, however with play testing it is possible to reach level 300+. It is my fault for not explaining the mechanics too well.

Temple of Sacrifice by Dooda 2019-04-30T23:06:33Z

@vinay-rao Thank you so much. And I do agree about the audio :joy: Music isn't my thing but I still enjoyed making it. Also I do agree that the UI should offer more and better feedback for actions and decisions. And for the health I do agree, but fun fact I initially wanted health to be limited to the size of the health jar, but forgot to code the upper size limit :joy: , so yes that should be part of the UI. I am glad that you liked it, and I hope that I can keep adding to it and make it into a full fledged thing. I also hope that you consider doing the same, I really enjoyed your submission ad would love to see it grow

@nayaki-anandan Thank you, I'm glad that you see potential through all the dust and dirt

Paid in Blood by Scott Steffes 2019-04-29T19:28:36Z

Great game, I'm glad to see that someone else had a similar idea to mine :joy: Praise to the gods! Wish I could add some useful critique, but it was an excellent submission:thumbsup:

Your Life Is Currency by AdmiralSpaceKraken 2019-04-29T21:43:51Z

Really fun game, and the mutation is a very neat mechanic

The Woods Without Life by SpeedFrame 2019-04-29T19:06:58Z

The one way I can describe the game is adorable. The art style and music made my day. Aside from some of the technical issues which happen with everyone, issues my recommendation is clearer focus on what to do since I had no idea what to do (Maybe its just me). Overall super nice and I loved the implementation of the theme.

Life of a Hoarder by spidamoo 2019-04-30T16:41:00Z

A really nice submission. The art is probably my favorite part of it. The mechanics are interesting however I do think you could have added more things to do while waiting to plunder towns.

Contract Cleric by Vinay Rao 2019-04-30T20:34:51Z

Great game, I loved the idea being a healer in an RPG setting its amazing. I don't think that it is a perfect fit with the theme, but it works well enough in that regard. Aside from visual feedback which is normal not to have enough time to add in a game jam :joy: I do think that the audio is a bit irritating to listen to, but I do understand what yo were going for but still wanted to mention it. Other than that this is probably one of my favorite submissions great work!

The Poor Rebellion by Adam Clayden 2019-04-30T16:28:55Z

It is a rather nice submission. However I do think the main issue is clarity, I honestly didn't know how what I was doing affected the game, a small text blurb could work or better yet maybe showing an example at the beginning. But its nice that you gave the audio a personal touch.

Blood and goods by selewi 2019-04-30T16:56:13Z

I hate to say this because I believe in the importance of constructive criticism, but this game is perfect. The art, music and idea are top notch. As a fan of Darkest dungeon I strongly approve.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Tsundere Defender by Kirill Nepomnyaschiy 2018-04-23T12:32:40Z

Excellent entry, but my only comment would be to maybe make things progress faster. Especially for the jam since most people tend to want to play as many games as possible. Other than that a very well made entry, thank you.

4F - Faith, Forests, Fire and Floods by KayZ 2018-04-24T09:05:30Z

This is a great game given the constraints of the jam, but the only part that I think it lacks is a sense of progression, I understand the idea of toying in a god sandbox, but it would be nice to gain new abilities over time or something.

Matching Towers by sky_fighter 2018-04-24T09:36:20Z

Great game, I do believe that you used the theme very well. The only issue I believe it giving proper feedback, in other words it was hard for me to tell when enemies would spawn or if the were getting hit.

Dungeoneer Commander by Dooda 2018-04-24T10:33:57Z

@Lumos Thank you for the feedback. I do agree that the game is lacking in every category you mentioned and even more so. To be honest even though I am happy about the fact that I managed to have something "playable" at the end of the compo, the game is incomplete. The biggest setback in my opinion is me not having the time to add the dungeon crawling elements, I did plan loot, a shop, unit upgrades and a procedural dungeon but since its my first LD, that all ended up being out of my scope for a game made in two days. Maybe I will be able to make something more complete for LD42.

The Cards You're Dealt by Raindrinker 2018-04-24T09:23:59Z

Great game, I really have no criticism other than the thing I've read a lot of people mention so far, which is the difficulty. There are many ways to circumvent this maybe a mechanic similar to Darksouls's bonfires, other than that it's an excellent jam entry.
