Super cute and fun platformer!
I love it! Very nice pixel atmosphere with short and interesting story! Recommend it!
I love the aesthetics and the attention to detail, like falling out off the clouds if your are not fast enough.
It seems you ran out of time, for the lack of sounds and incomplete story, but you still managed to make a great game!
best looking game I've played so far
Nice vertical slice of a potential large platformer. Well done!
the art style of this game is really good, I like the variety of mechanics and systems you got, the player movement feels really slow I guess that's part of the level design but it felt a bit weird, but I had fun going through the story of the game, good entry indeed!
Very cool visuals. I had a feeling that the game was running very slowly for some reason (?). Jumping and falling felt very float-y, but the fps seemd okay. I'm not sure if it was some technical issue or if it was meant to be this way.
I appreciated the art and also chuckled at the floating islands concept - I also appreciated the story and would have liked to see where it went! I think my only major feedback is that lateral movement felt a bit slow and sometimes I would fall through platforms that I appeared to be above, rather than landing on them. Overall though I thought it was a very good challenge and I enjoyed the story that was told both by the characters and through the environment
Really impressed by this, it's a lot of work to get in for a jam game. Loved exploring the world and thought new mechanics were introduced at a nice page (enemies, falling platforms, energy pickups and the best one - bouncy pads). Really like the art, especially the characters and the buildings and I really enjoyed the story too, was looking forward to seeing if anything would happen with the mysteriously heavy package. Really good job here!
What a beautiful and creative platformer! Really fun idea. I also loved the art style, great job!
I'm not great at platformers so I didn't make it very far, but I enjoyed playing! The rocket boots are a cool mechanic and I like the platform diversity. Very nice art too! :smiley_cat: Lots of cool mechanics and hard work here, well done!
Beautiful game! I would have loved some sounds throughout, but I still enjoyed it. Every so often I would fly right through a platform if I was falling too quickly.
The dialogues are a bit cheesy ("Oh let me just disable the wall of chainsaws keeping you from my girlfriend"), but I guess its intentional and it makes them actually very funny. Even though you did not finish the story, I am already positively surprised by its length and intrigued to hear more! Beside that I also liked how many different mechanics you included and the artstyle is very beautiful. Add some music, finish the story and this could become something much bigger. I would be up for some further gameplay! Some issues I encountered: - after I died for the first time, my hearts were invisible until i got damaged again - some jumps require some amount of luck, since you sometimes can't see far enough to know wether you will land on an enemy or a chainsaw. This can get a bit tense if you are on your last heart - using A,D and space for controls felt a bit weird for me. Why did you not just use WASD or the arrow keys? Adding something to jump down through rooftops could also be a quality of life improvement, as I often ended up on top instead of on the islands. All in all a very nice work :)
Nice, very cute game. I think this is a really solid jam entry, one of the best put-together I've played so far. The physics felt just a bit too floaty and some things could be tad annoying (getting stuck on roofs for example) but overall worked quite well. Happy to have been involved in disposing of a murdered turd.
Found the people who voted for floating islands! I wish I could find out the end of the story after all that delivering, it was just getting interesting! The art is really nice, and I appreciate how many different elements you included to keep the gameplay fresh in each quest. It was a little inconvenient to keep getting stuck on roofs when I needed to be on an island. Either a way to fall down through the roof, or slightly wider islands so I didn't feel like I was risking death to get down from some of them would have helped.
The game's art style is very consistent and beautiful. During my playthrough, I noticed that when stepping on clouds, the player would slowly fall through them, which is a very interesting design. I also found that there were clouds or platforms to catch the player in many falling areas (except for the ones with saws), which allows less skilled players to have a good experience as well. Thank you to the development team for bringing us such a wonderful game!
Nicely presented platformer with a really quirky story. The sounds and music were very appropriate, but I feel like the music loop was a little short and unvaried. Otherwise I think this is quite a good entry!
Really beautiful art. The platforming is really well done, apart from the velocity of fall - it is really slow, which causes an odd sensation - and the lack of a button to get down from the roofs! Great work, this is a great entry!
Really beautiful game. Love the sounds and the music. I wish it was just a tad bit faster but besides that I absolutely adore it. I did get stuck on roofs a few times, but overall I think this is a really solid entry. Great work.
Graphics and sound feels nice, but gameplay is primitive platformer, I don't like just to jump from one point to another. It's have some additional obstacles, but it doesn't change overall feeling.
May be I just don't like platformers, and it's totally fine
I have to agree that the movement is a bit floaty, but I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the different types of platforms, and the graphics are nice. I found that the music was a bit repetitive by the end but I guess that's unavoidable with a short loop.
Nice atmosphere, I liked the colours. Overall good entry.
I really like the art style. My main issue was the physics---I found the game a little clunky to control, so al little improvement there could go a long way. The level design was all well done though. Nice work!
I really liked the pixel art in this one, and the writing was super fun! I really want to see where you were going with this one. I also really like how the music shifted when you were falling to your doom. That was an excellent touch!
I have 2 suggestions for improvement for you:
- When delivering the newspapers, the dialogue for that just hung around a loooong time. You should definitely make that work like the dialogue with the characters where you can press space to progress it. That being said, I did notice you could just move on and the newspaper would just disappear out of my inventory when the dialogue finally decided to finish several platforms away, so it didn't really stop me. - I'm afraid this isn't super specific helpful advice, but moving on the ground felt bad. Like, the character felt like he was trudging through a swamp when he was walking. Granted, you spend most of your time rocketing, so it really wasn't that big of a deal, but still.
A nice game with easy controls. I really like your pixel art style and the dialogue between the characters. Continue to improve yourself. Awesome!
Nice little platformer! I liked the variety of different challenges that the environment brings. And I liked the overall idea of simple controls, which allowed the actual challenge to come from the environment. The controls felt floaty to me, but maybe it's the game's goal. I liked the art style and music. Together they created such a nice mood.
