I like the mood of this one, great work with audio here.

The ship's hitbox seems to be too small, making game unnecessary hard. You need to be frame-precsise to catch an orb sometimes, that's really too much.

Nice job overall, it feels solid and completed.

shawn-beck 2017-07-31 12:26

Love the smoothness of the ship's movement. I thought the hit box size was alright :)

vegevan 2017-07-31 13:10

Hey I just played your game ! Here are some feedbacks * The spaceship movements are good, even though I would have like it to b a bit slower accelerating because getting the orb just next to you requires huge skills haha * The idea is pretty fun, simple and efficient, well done here * The idea of getting a serie is good, challegning. But if you die getting too long on the bottom edge, maybe having a counter of all the orbs we got this run from last death would have been a bit "rewarding", because once the challenge of huge serie is gone there is nothing more, whereas I like the challenge "the longest survival" haha * Sounds are really good, excellent atmosphere felt here, it may lack of a music with some beats to get the speed / hurry idea :)

Thanks a lot, this is a good entry IMO; I enjoyed and this is the most important !

exr 2017-07-31 13:28

@sun-wukong Thanks! I'm really happy with the mood. It was priority on the dev roadmap. I've changed the hitbox at the very end of the development to avoid hitting with the space over the wings. The spaceship shape wasn't easy for it. Sorry for being too hard.

@shawn-beck Haha, thanks! It is small, I wanted to do it challenging. I'm glad that you like it :)

@vegevan Thank you so much for such a great feedback. The score was a total amount, but based on some friend's feedback I changed it to "best sequence", probably both metrics are the key. Thanks, mate! :)

**First of all:** This is like Guitar Hero, with a badass fighter spaceship! haha

**Overall game impression:** Took me a moment to realize what to do, but once I got a hang of it, this game took me in for a long time. It's really fun, interesting, different and pleasant. I always liked games like this and so I sincerely enjoyed this. I spent a good 15 minutes or so playing this. My highest streak is 13 orbs :D who can top that? xD Great entry overall, very pleasant gameplay and audio, responsive controls and fun.

**Suggestions and comments on improvement:** Have different colors for the energy orbs you collect based on sound they make (higher pitch to lower pitch and different color to match each! That'd be really cool. Also on the topic of colors, have the trail change color based on the last one you picked!)

p.s. check out my game as well please.

rootpew 2017-07-31 14:47

Five stars :)

Love the aestethic. Awesome example of less = more. Very fun to play too, albeit I can only get to 8 before it just gets too fast for me :<

Ambience & SFX are really nicely done too. Great entry!

peremily 2017-07-31 14:47

Has a really nice feel/polish to it, although i found it to be quite hard

filippy 2017-07-31 14:48

This is ridiculously satisfying to play, seriously the controls are super smooth and makes it very adictive

tomdev 2017-07-31 15:02

The spaceship movimentation is smooth, its a hard game, the audio and graphics could have been more polish, but is very fun though.

adroitconceptions 2017-07-31 15:10

I really liked how the sound matched were you were at and how the position on the the board represented how much energy your ship had. controls were a bit touchy. Definitely has potential with some more time for polish.

zyzzyzzyz 2017-07-31 15:33

Audio is really effective, and the graphics are nice and clean.

The spaceship doesn't seem fast enough to allow a player to catch an orb that spawns at the other side of the screen so it becomes quite difficult to get a score in the double digits.

All in all though, a nice minimalist experience!

barsoosayque 2017-07-31 16:42

Ok, I think, I mastered the game. My HS is 22. But the game itself is really calming and I love it !

barsoosayque 2017-07-31 16:42

Ouch. Hit "Publish" button three times.. Err. Sorry.

barsoosayque 2017-07-31 16:42

<...> Sorry again.

frostdragonliz 2017-07-31 16:43

A lesson in how to do a very simple game very well.

Audio, graphics, mood, and feel are all top tier. Congrats.

exr 2017-07-31 16:53

@barsoosayque You did mastered it! My best is 13! Amazing job :O

exr 2017-07-31 16:57

@zyzzyzzyz Yes, sometimes you have to be really quick to catch the other side. The balance in control was one of the challenges of the development. Thanks for your feedback :)

exr 2017-07-31 16:58

@filippy Thanks, mate! That means a lot for me.

@rootpew Thank you for the feedback. I'm really glad that you enjoyed it. But I'm with you, it's not an easy task to pass the 1X mark.

thorneto 2017-07-31 18:00

This was done very well. The controls are a little bit too slidey for me personally but the Audio and mood is 10/10.

hhsaez 2017-07-31 18:40

Good game, specially for mobile with tilt controls. The ship moves a bit too fast for keyboard and it was hard for me to collect more than 6 or 7 orbs at the same time. But it definitely has a lot of potential Nice work!

jakylgamer 2017-07-31 19:23

awesome game man had fun playing it. thumbs up!

exr 2017-07-31 21:09

@thorneto I'll tweak those controls as soon as the compo ends. Thanks for playing!

@hhsaez Thanks for the feedback! The acc and top speed need some tweaking to find the perfect values, it's in my to-do list :)

@jakylgamer Yeah! Thanks for enjoying it, that's the whole reason to make a game :)

jchaplin 2017-07-31 21:23

Simple, yet good game. Very nice!

ganbaregameskyle 2017-07-31 22:36

Very mellow experience.

liquidbrain 2017-08-01 09:31

**Well done!**

**Concerning** the graphics I’m impressed, so simple design and it felt so good, I knew what to do and the visual feedback was great!

I really liked the thing you did with the sound effects btw.

**Overall** I had an amazing time playing this game, I played for about 10 minutes but I didn't manage to beat the score of 8. Totally addicting, love it! Thank you so much for this experience and good luck in the future! Have an awesome day, and I hope to see you in the next jam!

A simple yet challenging, and very soothing rhythm game. A daydream joyride across the dunes of Tatooine. I somehow managed to get 12 in a row.

rockhoppergames 2017-08-02 14:39

I love the mood in this one, but I don't feel the level of challenge meshes well with that. Perhaps more precise (slower) movement would help if you wanted to keep the challenge level high, but I don't think that's actually necessary. With such a relaxing tone and mood, I think turning down the challenge to allow for a casual experience would actually be ideal. Of course, it's your game, so feel free to disregard my assessment!

mengane 2017-08-02 18:20

Your game is very cool, i really appreciate the ambience with music. The ship is a lit bit fast, but i think that it was deliberate for the arcad aspect. Good Job !!!

johngun 2017-08-02 22:18

It felt very satisfying playing this game, almost zen like. Love the controls and the sounds indication how well you are doing. Good job

edmond00 2017-08-03 03:45

I liked it very much. My best is 11. The minimalist design enhances the addictive gameplay. The difficulty is good except may be when two successive orbs pop on the opposite side of the screen where is too difficult to grab and a little frustrating. I liked that there was no interruption of the game between two try. Also the sound design is very good. It is relaxing while adding pressure when your score begin to increase.

benbennett 2017-08-06 04:47

The best I could get was 11. Loved the look and sound. The controls felt good but I did think the hitbox on the ship was just slightly too small. Sometimes a dot would come on the completely opposite side of the screen, it seemed like it wouldn't be possible to get but maybe I just need more practice. Great job!

menno-stas 2017-08-20 21:33

The sounds of this game caught me by surprise and gave the game an unique vibe imo!
