Apr 10 15:16:06 Resurface ♥ 1 What a fun game! I ended up playing it all the way. Usually I'll give myself 10 to 15 minutes per game 😁 Here's some feedback and first impressions :-) - The main menu looks fancy - I like the way the story is presented. - Using the leftmouseclick to interact feels a bit weird and was not intuitive to me, as the keyboard is used to select objects in the world at first. After mining and buying things I get why you opted for that option.d - Using the left / right arrow keys to exit screens also feels unintuitive. After a few minutes of gameplay I found the "back key" - Mining feels very satisfying and straightforward. - The music feels calming and well thought out. It gives a sense of acceptance that this bad situation happened and that everything is going to be allright - I love how the levels are unique every time. I understand what a pain it can be to make sure every possible combination is playable. How did you ensure that? Is there special code that ensures always-completeable levels? - Sometimes one pixel left over ores look like the ones you can pick up, making it confusing when you get stuck on them while rushing back to the mothershipa
Apr 10 15:31:04 14m 58s The Void ♥ 2 This game was nice and sweet! I enjoyed myself. First I thought the game would end after entering the portal, but there was a whole section after that! I was pleasantly surprised. The music and art style are very well done. I can see you're talented at that stuff. The point and click mechanics are well done too. I like how there were some element you could click on that only triggered some dialog. For instance, the architecture
Apr 10 15:38:11 7m 07s Depths of brain ♥ 1 Needed to get used to it at first, I did not realize that the message "you dwell on the past too much" meant gameover 😁 I liked the game, although I could no get further than 5 levels deep, as sometimes the blue brains would spawn on difficult locations :) Had fun playing it. One question though: why no sound effects / music? Some little beeps and boops can do wonders making the game feel so much more polished!
Apr 10 17:35:44 1h 57m A Final Deed ♥ 1 This game is great. One of your best in my opinion. It feels wholesome. The puzzles are fun and creative I think. First I was like: this is a typing simulator, but after a few levels it got some well thought out variations. I see that you had a very annoying bug that involved the wrong indexes to be shown. I can happily tell you that I did not encounter it anymore, so you can sleep peacefully tonight 😁 The music is very well done and I love how you link to it on sound cloud. The transition between "levels" is well done and gives a sense of accomplishment. The colorscheme is just awesome! I always envy the people who make bold choices like "lets use two main colors" One complaint though: I have a severe case of professional deformation where I start counting from 0 with little sequences like your's, so I had adjust my mindset when counting the second index in the row for instance 😆
Apr 10 17:44:38 8m 54s Quantum Inferno Run ♥ 1 I enjoyed it, I see potential in this one. Some flashy colors, some hyper music, some juice and the game would feel a lot different 😀 The concept is interesting, with some balancing it could work out I think. I did not hear any sounds. Was that intentional, or did my browser do a whoopsie?
Apr 10 17:58:54 14m 16s Bat outta Hell ♥ 0 What a fun game! Here's some feedback: - I could not figure out how to aim up and down, so the level after 'greed' I could not finish - The teleporting often did not tigger, I think there was some secret countdown which should be disclosed to the player - The music is awesome! I felt hyped up when a boss was comming for instance - Speaking of bosses: Bosses?! In an LD game? Have not seen a lot of those since I first joined. Great stuff!
Apr 10 18:18:47 19m 53s De Profundis ♥ 1 This was just a delight to play, I've followed your progress this LD and was very curious 😄 It is indeed refreshing to "just explore" without a particular goal in mind. Just mess around and have fun The art style reminds me of the old paint programs from back in the day
Apr 10 18:42:22 23m 35s Depths: From the Crust to the Core ♥ 1 This was a cool experience! Just shows how one can expect anything from an LD game. This is a kr4ft-speciale if you ask me! Some of your games don't have a win/loose condition, and that makes it fresh. I learned a lot and laughed a lot too! I sure hope for you no geologists are among us indeed ;p A little feedback: the text on top said "scroll down to start", so I did CTRL+END to go all the way down, expecting the start to be there. Then Half of the game I was like: what is that gray bar at the left? And then I realized that there should be a little dude keeping you company while going down 😅 So I restarted it How did you make this? It is pure HTML with a little CSS I suppose? Did you use some crazy software like ExpressionWeb 4 or something?
Apr 10 18:52:38 10m 16s Down Golf ♥ 1 This is a clever take on the theme I think. The sound effects and graphics are adorable, especially the "NOOT" the flagpole makes when the goal is hit. Somehow I could not get used to "tap" to aim and then hold_press to shoot. Somehow I'm hardwired to hold to buildup intensity and tap to shoot&aim. No idea if that is normal in golfing games, I don't play those that often
Apr 10 19:02:40 10m 02s Infernal Bites: Food delivery in the depths of hell ♥ 1 My computer could not really handle the graphics (I've got a potato pc), but I could play enough to get the general vibe and gameplay. It's a classic go from point A to point B game, like in some GTA missions or in crazy taxi. I think it is impressive what you made in a weekend. A whole 3D world with collisions and navigation-arrows. The music made me feel very manly, like I think my beard grew a little bit while playing. The controls felt a bit stiff though
Apr 10 19:15:00 12m 20s Sunken Secrets ♥ 1 Fun game! The graphics are quite well done and that underwater sound is pretty good. How did you make that sound effect? The beeping is pretty clever, as some packages where hidden behind coral and such (I think that was on purpose?). Also, there is only one level? Or did I miss something? I would have liked to play more of this :) It feels very solid, everything is working as it is supposed to I think. No bugs found Took several times to find out the safe is supposed to be wrecked to find the final package btw
Apr 10 19:25:35 10m 35s Upstream ♥ 0 Another SKVader-speciale here! I'll play some more later, as I had lots of fun. Some initial feedback I've got: - The NPC's react before I could see the danger, I suppose that is realistic but it takes away from the fun I think - The graphics are awesome as always, I really like how you developed such a unique style - When it gets dangerous, some mood-setting music would have been awesome. I know that it is already much to create a game with multiple levels in a weekend, so I get why you gave that less priority - I was expecting to do some actions while fixing the wheel / furnace, maybe holding some button or something - I love how you can switch platforms on the boat by just using W and S, no nonsense
Apr 11 18:15:15 22h 49m Drill Down, Dog! ♥ 1 I see potential in this one. For now it does not feel challenging enough to keep my attention that long, making it less fun for me than I expected. The music and graphics fit really well with the gameplay, it sets the mood pretty nice. The controls felt smooth and satisfying. The menu was done very clever, by going down to start the game. Also, the backstory is silly and fun 😄
Apr 11 18:34:03 18m 48s Reclaim You Soul ♥ 1 Have been playing for a while, somehow 3 jumps are very hard to make. The last jump just right in front of the door was brutal and I had to stop. Sorry, that was a funkiller for me, my advise is to make the player jump a liiiiitle bit higher to make it less frustrating The crawl mode was a fun addition, although the crawlspace looked the perfect height for the non-crawling one. So I was confused for a bit. The shards are all blue colored, it would have been cool if every ability got its own distinct color. That way you can create elaborate puzzle levels 😄 There was a bit of music, but it did not loop. Did you do that on purpose?
Apr 11 18:44:30 10m 27s Submersible L337 ♥ 1 Ooh my brain can't handle the controls sadly :o I think it is me, because in theory they are pretty well layedout. I had fun though! I managed to find a pink orb and I was very satisfied when I could pick it up! First I thought one of those glowing stalagmites was the objective, took me a while before finding the pink orb Graphics and sound effects are awesome, well done!
Apr 11 19:15:52 31m 22s Super Mecha Diggin Dodge Idle ♥ 2 Ooh I had fun playing yours! The music is EPIC 😀 First I thought: ooh I can get some snacks while it just keeps going, but you actually mad it so that you need to keep upgrading to stay ahead of the curve. Took me several times to get all the weapons 😇 Well done! Your game was a much needed refreshment for me
Apr 11 19:28:08 12m 16s Murder for Dessert ♥ 2 Ooh I have to come back later when I have more time, but I must say I am impressed! I know what a headache it can be to create a story driven gamejam game. But a story driven game jam game with connections and saving / reveling details is a whoole other level! The UI is pleasant and approachable / to the point. I like that. The sound effects are once again 👌🏻 <- perfect Hopefully I can come back and solve this gruesome murder (I laughed out loud when the cut up pineapple was shown haha) Are those photo's you took yourself? Did you have pineapple during the jam? (not reading all the quality-looking comments above, don't want spoilers!)
Apr 11 19:35:04 6m 56s The Vault ♥ 0 I'll come back later as I could not figure out the ~~trying to be cryptic here~~ x amount of numbers I need to punch into the vault. I came that far! Some feedback for now: - The 2.4KB flag threw me off, as "2" does meet the requirements of one of the puzzlepieces in that puzzle - The glitch effect is very distracting / a bit annoying for reading. Maybe that could be less. Unless... It's morsecode, I tried several times to decode that sequence, but I think it is random and just part of the atmosphere - The start button is the first thing people will press, including me 😁 - When right clicking the text input field there is a whole context menu! :o Me as a programmer love that kinds of details! Did you make that yourself? Or is it some sort of standard object in the engine you used? If I need to, I will change the ratings later when I finish the game - Edit 20250412: still not found. I had a gut feeling-but I don't know how to translate it into numbers yet. A certain way of writing-was bugging me. - Edit 20250413: @lizz and I both looked into it. Still no answer - Edit 20250414: I refuse to look at the hints, still crunchin' though!
Apr 11 19:54:35 19m 31s A Present for Ama ♥ 2 Cute little game! But I don't think I got the whole idea, if so please correct me so I can play + rate again: - There is not really a chellange in this game. It's just falling off platforms and going down to start the next level - The music is fun and fits to the graphics, I like the style - I love how there is an end screen where you reach Ama ❤️ - Somehow I find it very cool that the web version remembers which levels are cleared when reloading the page - The webversion did not really work for me. I realize now that I use ZEN browser (which is Firefox in a trenchcoat), the ENTER key did not register for me - I did not really get the screen that shows up at the end of a level (or pressing TAB), and A and an E and an arrow?
Apr 11 20:09:52 15m 17s Crabs in a Bucket ♥ 1 Oooh this game is cool and hard! I love it and I will come back later to play some more. It's great that you credited your inspiration. Between you and me: I like the style of yours better. Although, the depth meter would have been awesome in this one as the whole gamejam was about depths Its simple to learn, but hard to master. It took me a while to find out that boulders can be pushed, very clever! Sometimes crabs would be just stay still and chill I guess. After clearing a level they would walk again
Apr 11 20:45:48 35m 56s Coin Grind ♥ 2 What a fun game! Here's some feedback: - It was not clear to me that the red squares were enemies at first. When I touched the triangle I was instantly dead so I was like "ok, triangles avoid, squares friends??" Later I found out that those are enemies too - Somehow I kept using the scrollwheel to switch weapons, maybe that is a sign that it is a bit more intuitive to add an option for scrolwheel controls to switch weapons - The music is much too calm for the gameplay, I was expecting some epic metalcore to keep me company while I blow up the entire level 😁 - The graphics are well done and the coins feel satisfying
Apr 12 12:04:45 15h 18m Turbo-Powered Cow Milker 3000 ♥ 0 Hi! Euhh... I think there is a story here my friend, unity was not coorperating I suspect? I like how you pivoted to submitting a batch file instead. There were two big bugs that made it impossible to play though: - milkLevel was not defined, so option 3 would always crash. Adding this to line 4 will resolve that issue: `set /a milkerLevel=1` - the file was encoded in UTF8, instead of ANSI. Windows does not like that and the whole thing would not display properly. `@echo off` was ignored for instance Some other issues I found: - When upgrading right away the game crashes, because the totalMilk is not defined - The milkerLevel does not seem to do anything to the amount of milk milked each round Sorry, I like that you submitted a game, but after prssing 1 2 3 and 4 a few times the fun was over for me. I had fun getting out all the issues though! 😃
Apr 12 12:29:01 24m 16s Uncovering The Mysteries Of The Cursed Tomb ♥ 1 I'm a sucker for these kinds of games. Love the old doom-like aesthetic with all of those puzzles. The puzzles were cryptic enough to be chellanging, but easy enough to get that "aha" moment just on time in an LD game like this. I loved it. Even found this dude 😁 Screenshot (64).png It was a bit laggy at first for me, but after a while the lag was gone. Don't bother fixing it if nobody else complained. I have a potato-pc :) P.s. OOooh there is a walkthrough! That is a nice service to us all
Apr 12 18:45:16 6h 16m Clock In ♥ 1 Wow this is dark when you think about it. Left me with some strange feeling in my stomach, well done! The dinner sequence in particular. *Why get the fancy meal when "standard" will suffice?* I agree with some people here: this can be considered art
Apr 12 18:57:51 12m 35s RainDrops ♥ 2 Hi! I will come back later to finish this piece of art! Really reminds me of StarDust, but man this one is so much harder! I lack the required spatial insight I think. The drop mechanic is really cool! And I found the red orb allll the way up there. No idea how to get there for now, but something tells me that is where I need to go to The music is very well done and adds to the experience. I think that the lack of an object (like a laserkun or something) adds to the surreal feeling of this game Well done my friend, I really liked yours. When I finish, I will share a screenshot ❤️ P.s. when I read @lereveur 's comment, I shouted out loud: BUBBLES?! Went back and tried right click. Flopmp flomp it did: BUBBLES!!! This makes my next runtrough so much better! Thus some feedback at last 😁 Maybe somewhere other than the description you need to explain the controls :) Like the main menu for instance :)
Apr 12 19:10:51 13m 00s One More Folder ♥ 2 This is really well done! I'm not kidding if I say: this feels like the real deal. This could be one of my random saturday afternoons 😅 I managed to start the game! Screenshot 2025-04-12 210856.png
Apr 12 21:17:36 2h 06m Layered ♥ 1 Congratz on your first LD entry! The game is short and sweet indeed and I see potential in this one! Had a little difficulty controlling the game, as the WSDA keys seem to be mapped on an angle. But after a while I got used to it. The graphics are well done and the sound effects fit to the general aesthetic Plus points for self-hosting, just checked out your website. Cool stuff~
Apr 13 08:19:05 11h 01m Ball Pit ♥ 0 Not very good at this, but I get the gist of it I think. I'm impressed! This looks and feels very balanced. The dashing in and out of green orbs is a genious mechanic. Not too overpowered and useful enough to save your butt if you use it wisely. The leaderboard is a great way for people to hang out just a little longer. How did you make that?
Apr 13 08:41:51 22m 46s Into The Abyss ♥ 3 This game is gorgeous! I really liked it, sadly I could not get all the way to the end because I sucked the 8 rounds I played 😆 . Some feedback I've got based on my experiences: - The music fit really good with what you are going with here - The graphics are very good, I found some issues though: - The tiles did not always connect the right way with each other - It seems that tiles that do not have N, E, S or W neighbors become a corner pieces. - I thought the crates could be interacted with too, but they're just level objects I guess - I love how you can go from left to right all the way on top, and that the screen readjusts to the digging down part. Those are details that go unappreciated most of the time - The overall art style is very consistent and gives a fun vibe
Apr 13 09:05:08 23m 17s Drilly's Journey ♥ 1 This game is clever! Without that much explaination, the player will *see* and *experience* what mechanics are there to help. Also, the puzzles are really fun and seem to be well polished too! That is impressive for a compogame. Somehow the game feels also satisfying. The graphics , transitions, soundeffects , everything fits together very nicely.
Apr 13 09:12:38 7m 30s Deep Pursuit ♥ 2 I laughed out loud when the lasers came into focus, this game is so absurd hahah LOVE IT! 10/10 indeed It is very hard though, but I think that is the appeal of it all. The music is very well done and the sound that plays is always in sync with the music it seems. Did you program some delay in there to make it fit the music? Or is it just me? No idea if the phone will ever be reached, I did not come that far. I won't be surprised if this game wins LD57
Apr 16 20:11:23 82h 58m Diva Descent ♥ 2 Easily the most fun I had this LD, this is a great game! Love it from top to bottom ~hehe~~ The graphics are wonderful, the colorscheme is very bold but it works very well. Did you create the color scheme yourself? Great to see that the levels seem to be random. And I love how the ground is always there when the countdown stops. One little point: the rotating character when you hit something feels a bit out of place, I would have done that diffrently. Maybe blinking or something
Apr 24 19:04:49 190h 53m Dyamid ♥ 1 Hi! Your game was on my toplaylist :) Love the game! It is very well designed, the music is epic and I love how the screen freezes in place when the diamond is put down. That could have been a lot of work to implement I guess, as the screen wraps around when that happens. Somehow my potato pc does not like the game, it runs a bit sluggige. Did you use an exotic engine? Or did you make it yourself? Really enjoyed this. I hope to see that this game ends up in the Top 10!
Oct 13 17:12:47 4126h 07m Towards the Light ♥ 2 Love the art style! It's very unique and even my potato-pc can handle it 😄 There were some platforms that did not light up with foot-imprints. I did not know what they were, but decided to put two of the little men on there. The third one I walked off the platform and the game ended I can see that you had big plans for this one. I think the foundation is a good one and I see potential. It needs some refining and more levels as you said. Are you planning on a post-jam version? Edit... I see that this is an LD57 entry 😅 No idea how this ended up in my list but I liked it nevertheless :-)
