Oct 8 10:11:46 Personality test ♥ 3 What a fun game! The voiceovers are done very well! Is that your own voice with some filters spinkled in? The beginning was a point / click adventure-like game. I like how you made lots of interactable objects. The real purpose of the game was a bidden yet. The personality test was fun to do, lots of little tasks to do. I was expecting a quiz-like experience, but this was more than that. At the end I realized that the tiny critters that were scattered all around the book-store most likely were other nosy people who did the test? My personality: Smilecute :-) ~~Question: what game engine / editor did you use?~~ Nevermind, you put it on the titlescreen in the biggest font imaginealble 😅 Screenshot 2024-10-08 120445 smoll.png
Oct 8 10:25:52 14m 06s Widdle Werewolves ♥ 2 Hah I had fun! I also got stuck after fighting the red 256 Doug. When all the Dougs gathered around me, the game "un-froze". I suppose this is a feature, but it feels like a bug. Maybe a waiting animation would have helped. Some feedback - I had fun playing yours, the voice acting really added to the experience. Did you record this yourself? With some filters sprinkled in? - it was a bit unclear what was part of the background, and what were obstacles - the music really adds to the vibes of this game
Oct 8 10:40:44 14m 52s Microadventure ♥ 1 What a fun game! This one goes in my bookmarkbar for later casual-plays :) I love how all the little characters have little texts/gags. Did not read them all, but I especially laughed about the one saying its lefthanded 😆 FeedbackL - Grapics are very well done and polished. I like the colorscheme and the overall feel - The sound effects are great. Even the lack of music in the 'transitionroom' between the last level and the boss really adds to the doom-feeling just before seeing the boss - I love how you loose the juices when getting hit. It's a modern take on these kinds of games. I'm still stuck in that mindset of having hearts, and when they run out the level restarts... What you did is much more fun! - However, this system felt a but useless when confronting the boss. I felt like it did not really matter when I got hit. Then I realized that the juices are a kind of score, and that they slowly disappear. I ended up with 0 juices. So I guess, if one wants the highscore, that it really DOES matter to not get hit after all :-) The ending cracked me up haha Screenshot 2024-10-08 123950.png I consider this game a Winner
Oct 8 11:41:43 1h 00m Re-Bot ♥ 1 Oh that ending hahahhahaha, did not see that comming! What a cozy little game this is! I like it a lot. The graphics and sound effects are well done and the whole thing has a good amount of polish
Oct 8 11:55:37 13m 54s Tiny Creatures ♥ 2 I'm impressed that you actually made a game there on that beautiful island! Some feedback: - I like how the game can be manipulated mid-similation. - Drawing the dead cells is a clever deviation from the normal game of life - Somehow my numpad did not work, I thought. But turns out it only works when the screen is cleared. - I love how you titled the inbuilt pattens! Makes it feel like art. Did you create those yourself?
Oct 8 12:03:33 7m 56s Tiny Paws ♥ 1 hahahah ooh I loved dumb ways to die back in the day! This is a lovely cat-themed throwback for me! I got 26 points :-) Some feedback: - It was not clear to me when the minigames "pet the cat" and "play with cat" was satisfied. I just hoped that I would not loose a life :-) - The game feels intuitive - Graphics and sounds are well done :-)
Oct 8 12:51:52 48m 19s I Have Put The Creature Into My Gun ♥ 1 Love your entry! I think its very creative to use the critters as a mechanic for all sorts of things, like the door opening and the shooting / jumping. And I love how they all pop out of those checkpoints. Its just adorable!
Oct 8 13:27:38 35m 46s PogoCombo ♥ 1 Fun game you made there! The controls feel solid and the 'how to play' section was pretty well done. No need for long texts, just cute graphics and the player should figure it out pretty quick The graphics and sound effects fit nicely together
Oct 8 13:39:46 12m 08s Beachfront ♥ 1 Oh damn this one was fun! I played much too long haha, thats a great indicator to know I had a good time. These creatures remind me of my cat. Struggling and complaining when picked up, and when you put it down its like "guess we are sleeping here then" 😆 Love how you gave them names too!
Oct 8 17:44:24 4h 04m Tiny Creatures Creator ♥ 1 hahahaha this is just gold 😆 The audio is done pretty well! I tried pressing 6 the second round (as it was mentioned), but that did not work. Or did I miss something? 10/10 for humor
Oct 8 18:16:54 32m 30s If You Give A Mouse A Machinegun ♥ 2 The controls were actually challenging. That made it a fun challenge. Don't take my following question the wrong way, I'm just curious as I know what games you normally submit: What happened? Seeing the basic outline, I don't really see where the challenge in development could be. Was there some grand plan that sucked up all of your time? Or just life happening?
Oct 8 18:22:53 5m 59s Tiny Beast Hunter ♥ 1 Fun little entry! Some feedback I have: - The graphics are cute and the sound effects fit nicely with it - Sometimes I got stuck in a platform. I could not move and jumping made glitched sound effects (lots of jump sounds at once) - A and D did not work, but arrow keys did! Maybe an idea to change the description to avoid further confusion - I like how the creatures get sucked into the suckythingy, even when targeting one at the toplevel, the creature at the bottomlevel will also get sucked up
Oct 8 18:45:52 22m 59s Color Critters ♥ 1 I played way too long, so much fun I had! I love these little puzzle games! I always find it impressive how they get made. What is your method by which you create these levels? Screenshot 2024-10-08 204422.png
Oct 8 18:51:43 5m 51s Like A Moth To A Podiatrist ♥ 1 This game is so cool! Never played anything like this. 10/10 for innovation. I had fun :-)
Oct 8 18:57:43 6m 00s Kwakerz ♥ 2 I laughed out loud here hahahahaha this one is so fun! The way they squeeck when crackers are left on the street, the reference to that aweful song that lives rent-free in my head since 2012, its just perfect I had fun playing yours 10/10 for fun! Btw, I saw you have played mine too! I saw your name on the highscore table. Did you like it?
Oct 8 19:14:54 17m 11s TinyShip ♥ 1 Fun game! Some feedback I have: - I had some difficulties learning the controls - I love how the rocketship can be controlled (as in: there are lots of movenment options) - If I clicked space twice, the velocity is reset it seems. Did you do that on purpose? - Some soundeffects or music would have been great - The highscore table kept me going :-) That really adds to the expierence
Oct 8 19:42:44 27m 50s A Night at the Dining Table ♥ 1 Yay! I found the cheese! Congratz on your first LD entry! Personally I think this community is very warm and cheerful. No need to ask for mercy :-) Some feedback: - Like some already said: by hugging the walls, most insects can be avoided. - It feels pretty unrewarding to go all the way back after getting hit. Some kind of health system would have been nice I think - I like how there is music. Some sound effects would have been awesome. You can use very easy tools to create some bleeps/blops. It reaalllyy adds to the experience somehow. Here is a basic tool https://sfxr.me/ LudumDare promotes games whos creators are actively providing good feedback. Only then will your game bubble up to the surface to get ratings. I see that you disabled ratings for your game. Is that on purpose?
Oct 9 18:10:16 22h 27m Autumn Picnic ♥ 0 What a fun little game! So cute! I can play this for hours if I don't look out. The graphics are outstanding and the atmosphere is cozy. I found one bug though: at the third level somehow one of the seeds was not eaten and then I could not reach it anymore once the mushroom was eaten: Screenshot 2024-10-09 200800.png Love the puzzle aspect!
Oct 9 18:20:00 9m 44s TINY CREATURE MEMORY WAR ♥ 1 The third level is where everyone is going to die haha. I had a blast playing your game. I think its clever to combine memory with upgrades and combat! The graphics are ok in my opinion. I think the pixelart-critters and the GUI did not really fit together that well. The music was very well done though, kudos for that!
Oct 9 18:26:53 6m 53s Small Critters ♥ 1 Cute game! The controls felt a bit weird at first, but then I understood that it was actually very clever how this was made. As a group of little critters can be manipulated this way. I love the little indicators on the LD page btw. It makes the whole experienced feel polished :-) Also: I loooove random levels! How did you ensure the levels would be always playable?
Oct 9 18:49:26 22m 33s Pot Life ♥ 1 What a fun game this is! I enjoyed it! It's cute and simple to learn. But men, its damn hard to master haha I guess this is what gardening is like 😅 The game could use some veeery quiet background music though. That would make it perfect in my opinion
Oct 10 17:32:02 22h 42m Mimic ♥ 1 I'm impressed with the detailed story telling you did in this game! I know about all the text-dnd, but actually reading this stuff makes me proud 😄 I like how the narrator breaks the forth wall multiple times in my playthroughs. Also, the music really helps with creating the mood. I even think that different music tracks could make this text adventure feel different. Like horror, or corny. The theater of the mind can do lots of cool things! Later-on I'll make sure to check out some other routes I saw someone mentioning that the answers were difficult to distinguish and I agree with that. Some line-breaks could do magic there.
Oct 10 18:01:11 29m 09s Frogi ♥ 0 I was curious what your game would be like 😇 And I'm happily surprised! Love your game! Its very relaxing. The opening I said out loud: "oh wouw, dat paralax though!" I thought that was epic ;p I remember thinking: this game reminds me of paratrooper (that old DOS game from back in the day). And then the crickets(?) came along by with their projectiles 😁 Really well done! Love the graphics. With little details like the eyes of the frog blinking asynchronously and the background music is a delight
Oct 10 18:19:40 18m 29s Peculiar Pickings ♥ 1 This... euh... this was an expience... And I thank you for it! When I saw the GIF's and screenshots I was like "Yeahhh... I gonna give it a shot". But it was accutually fun! Even the tape recorder gave the whole thing a new kind of surreal feeling. The graphics are fun in their own way. I'm going to rate them high as everything fits together and in my opinion that is an indicator of well executed graphics
Oct 10 18:38:47 19m 07s Humans left ♥ 1 Oh god.... What did they see?! 😵 I had a plan though, I wanted to keep the last one alive as long as possible. But I see that you accounted for that by cutting the game short at 5. Which is very clever!
Oct 10 18:46:58 8m 11s Creature Falls ♥ 1 What a fun little game! I had one winner! I was rooting for it when it went for the middle into the long shaft 😄 Luckaly "normal distribution" is a thing, so there was a pretty big chance it would work out :) Some music would have been cool btw. At least soundeffects. That really adds to a game
Oct 10 19:09:31 22m 33s Maze Bat ♥ 1 Fun little game! I like how its like ascii-art but with modern twists to make the game feel more juicy! It's very appearent that the yellow things need to be collected. However, the first level I got one of those were in the middle and naturally I thought it was my character. I was confused for a moment there 😅 I'm not really a fan of the music. It sounds too cooperate for my taste. I work in an office and have to hear that on a daily basis. But hey, at least there is music! I think music really adds to the mood of the game. I would have expected something more 8-bity in this one :-) The gameplay is cute, but I was expecting some new elements being thrown in level by level. Maybe I'm a bit spoiled by other LDers :-) You mention that the level generator was coded by yourself, that's impressive! What techniques did you use to ensure there would always be a path to the exit? Edit: I see this is your first entry! Congratz!! How has the LD experience been for you?
Oct 11 12:39:45 17h 30m Mission: Runaway ♥ 2 Damn that is some impressive puzzle-level-creation skills you have here! I played all the way till the end. That last level was brutal haha Some feedback: - I had idea how many aliens I started each level with. Thinking about it now... Did each level start with the amount I ended up with last level? - make numbers face right side up for the movable pieces (6 and 9 are confusing now) - The R key is right next to the E key. Sometimes I would reset the level by mistake - A level indicator would have been nice. That way LD players have an expectation about how far along they are - ~~undo button would have been great~~ I now see that there has been an update, where Z is undo The graphics are cute and I love the color pallet! Screenshot 2024-10-11 143002.png
Oct 11 13:08:32 28m 47s The Befitting Heights ♥ 1 Finally I get to your game 😄 Reading is not my cup of tea to be honest, never has been. I'm a bit of a slow reader, so I waited for my weekend so I have some quiet time and still have energy :-) I really wanted to play yours This was interesting and a bit existential-crisis-inducing. 😅 At first I thought the choices would have an impact on the next slide. But I think I see what you're going with here, this is for self-reflection. *"what would I do in this situation?"* I think the vivid storytelling really helps here. Having just a black screen with white text makes it somehow more immersive: ones imagination takes over. First I was a bit confused with the way you implemented the theme in this one. As you mention worms for instance. But that feels more like a side-note than the overarching story. Then I thought about us selves: humans. *Are we the tiny creatures?* *Do the choices we make have a significance in this universe?* *Or is it all for nothing?* Don't be too hard on yourself, I think this is a solid entry. I like the Krafter-sauce you put on top. Most of your games contain some deeper narrative. Sometimes about conflicts and relations, other times about spirits. This time its about us as humans and the hardships we have to face. One question though: what is the thumbnail about?
Oct 11 17:24:30 4h 15m Tiny Rescue ♥ 4 Damn that art and voice acting is next level! Love it!! Some further feedback :-) - The music is also very nice, its not intrusive but fits very well to the game - I first thought the lollypops were pins to pun down the leaf ^^" Took me a while to figure that out - In the last level I was able to put the lolipop into the jar and the little creatures would walk right into it. It felt a bit cheaty, as there were other interactable objects I think I should also have used - I found it a bit irritating that If I needed to tweak the leaves or legos, that the angle would get reset every time Love your game!
Oct 11 17:41:35 17m 05s Tiny Ghost Creator ♥ 1 I'll call her: lilly 😁 tiny_ghost_creator.png Some feedback though: - Love your character creator! I imagine it feels pretty cool to see all these creations in your commentsection :-) - Some soft music and sound effects would have been cool - Maybe a second background-color option for inside the frame would make this even better? Just in time for spooky-month btw!
Oct 11 18:07:45 26m 10s Dwarf Colony ♥ 1 I haven't played all levels, but I think I played enough to leave some feedback :-) This is another solid skvader-special if you ask me. The graphics you create are very unique and can be spotted from a mile away. And yet it is totally different from your other titles. I think that's impressive. The game can use some background music. But hey, for a 72-hour game this is damn impressive. You even bothered to write-out some scenarios. That gives the game much more character. Also, I think it is great that all levels can be played without first unlocking them. For a LD game I think that is very wise. Also, the menu is so satisfying 😅 Great job!!
Oct 11 18:19:11 11m 26s Skitter ♥ 2 Oh damn this is nightmare fuel! Sadly I was not able to finish the game. But wow. This is very well put together! The soundeffects, the graphics, the feel. It all feels so polished! Well done
Oct 11 18:36:15 17m 04s Jar Life ♥ 0 What a fun game! I love the randomized little critters in all those pretty colors! Also, the graphics are very impressive <3
Oct 11 18:49:58 13m 43s Human Heist ♥ 0 This is really well put together! I love these kinds of puzzle games. Haven't finished it yet though, I'll come back later :) The graphics, sounds and music really fits together nicely. Also, the laser 'death' animation made me jump at first haha. I like how you won't 'die' from the laser, but rather get reset. Also, good job putting the reset button at the other side of the keyboard! Only complaint: the "go to next level" button has to be pressed with the mode, so I had to move my hand constantly from keyboard to the mouse
Oct 11 18:59:44 9m 46s Glimbo's Defense ♥ 1 Always great to see such classics being created over a weekend. Its not really original, but I imagine you had fun making it :-) I would suggest always adding sounds to key parts of the gameplay. Like adding / destroying, shooting, etc. Also, I think you could have easily added 7 more enemies that had different colors and strengths :-) That would have made it much more intense. I liked the artillery and how it shoots in all directions
