| Apr 16 15:07:51 | Hell's Hookers: Luring Devils from the Depths | ♥ 3 | Hope you are feeling better already! In 6 months there is another LD 😄 | |
| Apr 16 21:30:10 | 6h 22m | Artisan | ♥ 4 | Oh wow, this is my first review and if all games have this amount of quality, then I'll be very happy! I had fun playing yours. Here's some feedback: - The cutscene in the beginning is awesome, it sets the mood pretty well - Sound design and graphics are top notch in my opinion. It works very well together - Crafting the item is so cool! You could have gotten away with just a button to craft it. But you made it an expience Some room for improvement :-) - First I thought "exit" meant: "quit to menu", but it acctualy meant "go to work area". - Learning that there is an action function to proceed, it took me a while to realize that the player can scroll the screen to walk to the client - 10 items seems to be the limit for items in the inventory, but you can still do the mining action - Do fractions matter? I played one for a few minutes and then triend another one. I haven't taken much time to check the diffrences, but my first impression is that it doen't really matter? |
| Apr 17 17:32:33 | 20h 02m | Franz Bardon's Practice of Magical Evocation | ♥ 1 | Love the concept! In it's core, this is a match 3 game indeed. I was wondering why you choose to make it only match horizontaly? I think its impressive that you did this in javascript! Also, did you really create all 360 of these spirit descripions? That must have been a lot of work! I googled some of the names to see if these are real descriptions, but it seems like you made them all up? Also, I played for around 10 or 15 minutues, I never came across the scale to clear out. Are those more rare to get? The graphics need some polish in my opinion, but the core gameplay is there and if the player likes a good story, then this is a fun one to play indeed! I love how you always try to innovate with different techniques and often create something that makes one think. Not one of your games look like your other games. That is impressive Also: the scoring is nicely done, splitting it into two categories. I tried to end the game by doing bad moves, it took me a while. I wanted to see what happened when the board filled up Oh, btw. I just installed Arc Browser (its in closed beta for Windows right now), so I found it pretty funny to see your notice on top after playing 😆 I can confirm that it works on that one (I believe its chrome based) |
| Apr 17 18:38:00 | 1h 05m | The Summoner's Apprentice | ♥ 2 | Ok ok ok, I finally found out how to play ^^" Here is how I got here: First thing I did was walking up to the book and did a random spell. An animal appeared, then I saw the board and started placing stuff. I was wondering why there is a compass while North is clearly marked in the cirlce. After multiple attempts, I found out that the player needed to do a specific spell. So, I once again started by reading the book and placing the elements on the circle (not the letter pieces, I did not find that out) After reading the description here, I found out that you first needed to place the items, place the letters and THEN needed to read the spell I liked the game, but was getting bored after a while. It is too slow-paced for me. Also, the sound for walking could have been a bit less intrusive in my opinion :-) |
| Apr 17 18:48:45 | 10m 45s | Salmoning | ♥ 5 | That is a pretty big world you created here! I played a bit too long on this one, I had fun ^^ The graphics are fitting very well together, and the cars are pretty cute :-) Having different hats is a very welcome addition. Edit: After reading that this is a multiplayer, I was blown away! I saw one other player "badcop" and thought it was some kind of NPC. I never dare to create a multiplayer, as 40 people tops will play my entry. It would be a very lonely multiplayer then |
| Apr 17 19:00:12 | 11m 27s | Sacrifice acolyte | ♥ 1 | I played around with your game today, I have mixed feelings about the trial and error thing. There should be a way for the player to know what the correct order is I think. However, by doing that, it will take away from the mystery of the game. The music is very nicely done. I was missing some sound effects, it can be beneficial for the gameplay to get some queues that some of the figures walked into the middle for instance. I had fun playing yours though, and that's what matters most in my opinion |
| Apr 17 19:05:29 | 5m 17s | Pokoe The Forest Summoner's Day Off | ♥ 1 | Relaxing game in the beginning, but it goes for 0 to 60 reaaal fast haha, I like it though. The graphics all fit together very nicely and the addition of the cat is a very welcome addition 😁 The music and sounds fit well to the game too I love how you incorperated the credits and Ludum Dare logo into the first screen the player sees. That is clever design and something I will try out next time :-) |
| Apr 17 19:13:47 | 8m 18s | Summoner's Chess | ♥ 1 | This is very well done! I can't believe where you began balancing this. The gameplay is solid and fun to play. Very innovative also! I liked the descriptions of the opponent also, very funny it times 😆 The music was a bit "jaws-like", which matched the vibe this game was going for I think: hunting down chesspieces! |
| Apr 17 19:20:27 | 6m 40s | Dimensional Dash | ♥ 0 | This game looks pretty nice and I like the music / sound effects. However, the controls seem to be a bit strange to me. I had to look them up. The signs are not clear for me either. However, jumping / walking around feels pretty solid and the portal system works great too (apart from the button placement imo) |
| Apr 17 19:27:45 | 7m 18s | The Mage And The Assassins | ♥ 1 | What a fun game! It was a bit difficult for me, but I get the gist of it and I like it. The matching spell part is very clever, as the player gets distracted from the fight and really needs to pay attention to the different kinds of scribbles. The graphics fit very well together and the music / sound effects are nicely implemented. The whole thing feels polished |
| Apr 17 19:34:02 | 6m 17s | Cultists Feast | ♥ 1 | Pretty fun actually! Simple in concept but hard to mater. I like how there is more cultists every round and that they walk a little random to the left or right at some point. I could not go very far, so maybe I missed something. I would say: try implementing some different kinds of cultists, maybe some big ones that need more mouse clicks, or some chaotic ones. Also, sound effects seemed to be missing, sound really adds to a a game and you can easily generate some quick sounds with tools like https://sfxr.me/ Edit: ok, I just read the description after reading cievers's comment, I'm impressed that you created this in such a small timeframe! |
| Apr 17 19:41:36 | 7m 34s | Echos of Players Past | ♥ 2 | That was awesome!! So cleverly done! I think the community did not let you down with this one, as you need players to understand and somehow work together and being social and stuff. The graphics are top notch and the addition of a character selector is a welcome addition, especially for this multiplayer-like gameplay. |
| Apr 17 19:53:42 | 12m 06s | Summoning for Hungry Wizards | ♥ 2 | I did it!!!! The sounds are very well done, and I like how there is a victory song at the end. Love the happy characters all dancing and partying 😁 Also, the help bubble feels well balanced, only appearing after a while and just giving cryptic hints Screenshot (59).png This took me a while, but I loved every second of it. |
| Apr 17 19:58:18 | 4m 36s | Songbird Symphony | ♥ 1 | What a fun game! Very innovating also. Did you record the sounds yourself? As I don't see an option to rate sound here. One suggestion I have is putting the name of the bird somewhere more obvious, as this is an opportunity for the player to learn some bird-facts :-) |
| Apr 18 16:08:33 | 20h 10m | The Kid And The Mud | ♥ 1 | Haha this was a fun game! The voice over is very nicely done with just the right amount of snarkyness 😁 at first I thought the E did not work, turned out I needed to hold the E button to proceed :-) Some variation in level design would have been a nice addition, as the world felt a bit plain now |
| Apr 18 18:04:14 | 1h 55m | Flower Run | ♥ 1 | Fun game to kill some time with indeed ^^ The game gliched out at around the 8th or 9th platform: it would spawn in right in front of me. After that the platforms stop spawning and mr flower falls into the void. I think I found a bug there ^^" The music and voice acting was superb, lots of people seem to love the 'Flowahhh', and so do I! |
| Apr 18 18:15:58 | 11m 44s | Druid Island | ♥ 1 | What a fun game! The art style drew my eyes right away, so distinct! Looks like those old terminal-games with ascii art, but with a modern twist! It took me a while to find out what 'roots' are, and how to summon stuff, but after some trial and error I got it working :-) |
| Apr 18 18:57:50 | 41m 52s | Virtual Church of the Digital Goddess | ♥ 2 | These are some complicated puzzles to create and balance! For me they are hard, but not too hard. Well done! Level 10 though... pfoeh... That one is veeery hard ^^" I had to stop after a while, I could not solve it sadly. When going to the level selector, I found out I had to clear level 10 until I could go further, which was a sad moment for me. Normally, when there is a level selector in LD games, players can play every level if they wish. Some room for improvement there I guess :-) Also, I'm sorry: I did not really feel the theme in this one. The story is around a Goddess, but in the gameplay it is not really that apparent for me The graphic and soundeffects though.. I love it!! Just the right mixture of retro / cyber and Geckoo in my opinion 😄 |
| Apr 18 19:09:22 | 11m 32s | Zombie Shock | ♥ 1 | What a fun game! Normally the player needs to survive through such zombie apocalypse , but there the player IS the zombie apocalypse 😄 I see that you used your engine and art style from sector-sweep! Is that a conscious decision? Sometimes its a good thing to experiment a bit with different art styles / ideas to develop your skills :-) Loved the game though! It plays and feels solid and polished 😄 |
| Apr 18 19:18:34 | 9m 12s | Bobblevision | ♥ 2 | This weekend is not only to create games, but to experiment with stuff you normally would not do. Not only that, you'll get feedback from the community! The shader is impressive if you ask me, but very straining for the eyes. Luckily the voice told me how to quit haha. Maybe, if you made the bubbles smaller, it would have been better. I hope you had fun this weekend! |
| Apr 18 19:29:10 | 10m 36s | Pass It On | ♥ 0 | What a fun game! some feedback I have: - The controls were a bit clunky for me tbh, the issue is that I would like to press left and up at once to walk diagonal. I can see why you did not implement that, but it was something I noticed right away - The graphics and sound/music is very nicely done and sets up a fun expectation - The use of the theme is very original and something I haven't seen yet Edit: Congratz on your first LD entry btw!!! |
| Apr 18 19:36:54 | 7m 44s | SUMMOLIO | ♥ 0 | What a fun little game! The music is euh.. interesting, the whole thing gives me memevibes somehow ^^ I love the random objects that get summoned in 😁 Sometimes the fall on top of the player and then the player gets stuck in the level |
| Apr 20 14:51:50 | 43h 14m | Diner Dash | ♥ 1 | What a fun game this was! It was a little unclear to me how to play at first. I thought the menu-thingy was a plate at first 😁 And I did not understand why it can't be put a way, but then I realized that that is a conscious decision! As it spices up the gameplay, I had fun playing yours. Maybe most fun thusfar. The music is so good! My score: $441, 1224 points |
| Apr 20 15:07:41 | 15m 51s | Ordinary Wizards Doing Ordinary Things | ♥ 1 | A real fupi-classic if you ask me! The art style is fun and consistent, and the music is very fitting. I do no envy those poor wizards, now needing to do dull tasks to survive 😆 Panning around was a bit difficult with the middle mouse button, but you added the option to use spacebar too and that worked flawlessly. The one point I have is that it is not clear when stars are lost. The first few rounds I got game-over without even realizing I ran out of stars I had lots of fun playing yours, thanks! I love how you have a 'what I have learned' section to this LD entry |
| Apr 20 15:18:12 | 10m 31s | Summoning for Dummies | ♥ 0 | This is a fun game! I like how there are random elements in here, like the rocks that have the potential to deal lots of damage, but have a chance to deal nothing either. The cards itself felt glithcy to me, somethimes they would not release, sometimes the would not get played and then the enemies take their turns. Sometimes the cards would overlap. That took away from the gameplay a bit for me. Nevertheless, fun and unique game! |
| Apr 20 15:25:45 | 7m 33s | 12 Vengeful Ghosts | ♥ 1 | A fun submission! I'm not very good at this style of game, but the graphics are very nicely done and the controls feel solid. As I did not come very far, I wonder what the focus feature is all about?? I had fun playing yours |
| Apr 20 17:40:23 | 2h 14m | Replicate-You | ♥ 2 | Visuals and sound effects feel solid, the loading screen for generating the replica could use some epic battle music of something. Is this replica based on the player's playstyle? For me the gameplay felt a bit dull, I'm sorry :-( The idea is cool though! I can imagine you had lots of fun creating it Edit, I saw the comment from quasilyte and was like "hey... he hosted it on his own site?" And went to take a look, I see it's a .nl site! Jij komt dus ook uit Nederland? ;p I think quasilyte is right to tell you about the http. You should enable that for security reasons :-) |
| Apr 20 18:05:14 | 24m 51s | The Ordnancer | ♥ 1 | omg. this is the most fun and satisfying game I have played thusfar. The slashing / gunning down the enemies feel so polished and has so much juice to it, I love it! The controls felt a bit glitchy at times, I think it was because of me going in and out of fullscreen at times. The player would get stuck at the bottom of the screen then. But apart from that, this one gets a 10/10 imo. The graphics, the juice, the sound effects and music. Everything is on-par |
| Apr 20 18:19:03 | 13m 49s | The Office Showdown | ♥ 1 | Interesting idea! The tutorial is great, telling the player to treat it as pacman, that is literally what the player needed to know. Some feedback I have: - it was not clear to me what the consequence was for pressing the wrong arrow keys while 'fighting', it took me a while to understand - there was no ending in the sense that all tasks have been fulfilled. A simple "thanks for playing" would have been sufficient I think |
