I like the Shader work, I think it might be cool to also create more of a gradient of color between dark and light for greater depth perception.

The shader and the voice acting are solid! XD

i thought i was playing with a 2D game at first, then when i started moving around i was like wait, this is 3D. the shader was nice looking, but probably not for this game i think.

AhH! My Eyes!

also: `429 Too Many Requests` - I can't get the game

drgcandle 2024-04-18 11:01

holy...My eyes have suffered a massive trauma, I think you've achieved your intended effect, buddy... Regardless, you've created a game in this competition that's shocking on both a mental and physical level, making you a true player who's tough and uncompromising. I salute you.

This weekend is not only to create games, but to experiment with stuff you normally would not do. Not only that, you'll get feedback from the community! The shader is impressive if you ask me, but very straining for the eyes. Luckily the voice told me how to quit haha. Maybe, if you made the bubbles smaller, it would have been better. I hope you had fun this weekend!

Definitely lives up to it's name! Wasn't exactly sure what to do, seemed to vageuly be able to move bobbly shapes (bottle shadows) for a bit but \o/. Looks like you had fun with the shaders tho' so a weekend well spent :)

Really fancy shader work! It was a bit hard to navigate around in the world and read the objects, walls and such. But not impossible. One detail that could have made it easier would have been if the circles were attached to the objects rather than the screen. If one strafes now with some object in view it is very clear that the circles are on the screen, as if it is one's own vision/sensor, rather than an effect on the objects. So if they could parallax it probably would ease parsing the world a whole lot.

I also enjoyed the initial narration.

Woahh thats so trippy, btw what is that walking sound man am I a kingkong or something? LOL,the sahders are definetly 10/10 (even though I have no idea whats happening), I love how the devs always put the fact that they didn't have time to do that and that, I always found that ironicly funny, 3days is not a lot for a game but you did a great job here! Congrats

I didn't read the instructions. At first I didn't know what I was looking at. I though it was a 2D sidescroller with one too many balls on the screen that you had to pick up with your mouse or something. Then my brain started functioning, and with the help of the narrator, I started putting the dots together (see what I did there?) and I realized it was a first person game with a trippy shader.

I saw a wizard, a few potions on the ground, a huge mushroom on top of us. And then I had a seizure. My mother heard the noises coming from my basement and she barged to rush me to the hospital. I am writing this from the hospital bed as we speak.

Jokes aside, I don't know what else to say. The performace was solid (I do have a beefy desktop), but the shader itself is a little bit too much, especially if you are sensitive (like I am), but to some people I imagine it can legitimately be dangerous. Maybe if you are tripping it can augment the experience? I dunno.

Bonus points for the narrator though

The shader changes color a bit too rapidly when walking thats probably fixable somehow :) Otherwise a real nice shader

denilseven 2024-04-28 15:13

This made me feel so trippy lol When I started getting used to the shader I got that sensation of remembering a dream where nothing made sense but everything made sense at the same time somehow

The shader is really cool but I recommend adding an **epilepsy warning** on the page or something similar.

geckoo1337 2024-04-30 13:41

Impressive visual, but too confusing to be playable. I really like this weird experience, but I don't where to go ++

jk5000 2024-05-01 14:32

Interesting visuals. Pretty well made and funny voice acting.

ciaranw 2024-05-02 18:57

Oh my lord this simultaneously hurt my eyes and started to give me motion sickness - you should make a VR version! Really cool shader and tech demo though; very trippy and felt like it was scratching my brain. Cool!

ava-skoog 2024-05-02 21:59

Props for the cool shader, and the fact that you shared the code too :)

Not much of a game as you said yourself but it would be cool to see expanded on. Right now it's not easy on the eyes in motion, and you really need some kind of crosshair because it's as good as impossible to pick up the smaller flasks. But I'm sure it can be solved and turned into something really interesting!

I like that you took the time to put in the voice lines.

Neat experiment. Like exofrenon I thought it was 2D first so it was very trippy before I realised what was going on. Cool stuff!
