A nice little artsy game with a great atmosphere. I like that it is such a clean idea, and have some ambiguity if I should drop them in the hole or not. First I dropped them in there, second playthrough I tried to save the poor tiny humans. Taking it further I think I would make the pick up click range a little more forgiving. Also cool to let the hand could do one more action like redirect or smash/scare them. And then some randomized wise words about tiny humans and their suffering.. haha. Great work!
This is an absolutely lovely little experience. Especially on a laptop trackpad, there was no way I was going to be able to save everyone, or more than a handful of people. So I just had to watch on as almost all the humans ran over the cliff, and select a few to keep alive. The art, text, and music are simple and really effective. I like how limited the pickup range is, makes everything feel a little more futile.
Only thing I could think to add is a fullscreen button.
I like the fact that you can save them, or not. 0 human left on my first run 😈 I just wish it was a bit easier to grab a human!

Very difficult moral choice!
great game about the futility of our actions

I thought the objective was to throw all the humans in the hole. Then I realized they were jumping off themselves. Then I realized the choice was mine all along. I don't want to think about what my first assumption means.
I really like the mood of the game! And grabing the little humans feels good, the sound works really well.

This is a great game, even more impressive it took you only 4 hours. Really solid mood

Why are they jumping in the hole? Why??? The inability to save them all and the music make this a very sad experience. It's kinda powerful though. Sorry about your time issues, but all in all this is an interesting entry
I liked the mood and vibe of the game, and how, despite the simplicity, the minimalism of the visuals, it looks very adorable.

Simple & short game) Pretty good enough for 4 hours. It would be better if it had complexity curve (less guys at the beggining to give player more time to move them). And i move some guys behing the screen, they will never reached the void >:D
Ok, ok, first up I want to say the metaphysical and depressing nature of the game was not lost on me: I appreciated your artwork a lot. Futile and desperate attempts to save those who do not wish to be saved...
BUT,
(and I'm just saying...)
It's really funny if you turn down the beautiful atmospheric drone soundtrack and instead replace it with Yakety Sax

At least you feel less bad as they plummet into the void!
Nice visual presentation, I like the border around the characters that you can see when they're over the hole. This feels like a metaphor for something xD

Oh man... what did I just experience? I don't know what to say. The futility of trying to save the humans as they relentlessly try to plummet to what I can only assume is their doom - only for the reward to simply be a statement of fact. Now there are... fewer.
Second play through I helped them on their way... except the last dude. Held him over the pit right up until the last second, like Atropos. I let him perish in the end.
Now I need a lie down.

I just wanted to post here to let you know that I am the best at this game. Also, I definitely did not play 5 times and each time was irrationally stressed out.

Oh god.... What did they see?!
I had a plan though, I wanted to keep the last one alive as long as possible. But I see that you accounted for that by cutting the game short at 5. Which is very clever!
This game was simple yet strangely captivating. Well done

Where do they go to?!?! We need LORE!
So much communicated with so little. I love tiny experimental art games like this. I tried helping them into the hole at first, since that seemed to be their wish. But I started feeling doubtful so I watched them a bit and sensed some anguish and sadness. So I tried to save just a few to see if they'd appreciate my intervention but they just approached me with apathy...

Really well scoped for the time you had! Impressive to put something so affective in such a short time! Music's well pitched for the mood and the sort of crawling into the hole animations are a really strong element of polish.
I think this is something that can be further expanded on! But the experience was really funny. The little running dudes got a laugh out of me.
I honestly had fun with it, or rather it set me in an interesting philosophical mood flavored with melancholy. I questioned do I have to save them? what if I won't? is there a point? Great concept delivered in just 4 hours.
Great and polished submission for the compo. Congratz!
Interesting little game, I liked the ambiguity of the goal and the overall mood. I agree with making it a bit easier to pick up the humans, it is hard enough to manage them without the frustration of not picking them. Also, i really liked the falling animation, simple but funny!
Great job!

As some people have said here, it's a concept that can be expanded on while still keeping the mood and idea of a more atmospheric game. Game jams are also about exploring and trying out different things, so I'm glad you were still able to submit something cool like this. Great work!
Very philosophical game - definitely stands out of most of the games here but also somehow difficult to rate. I love the minimalistic style while still building up a certain atmosphere. While the game aspect itself is simple, the context makes it a special experience.
