| Oct 3 14:33:17 | Cockroach Hooray | ♥ 1 | This game is awesome! A simple but wonderful idea excecated very well. Fits perfectly with the theme, and was shockingly engaging. The 'visibility' effect in the dark was done beautifully (as someone who has had to implement one in the past). If you are able to make more levels, let us know - I would love to play more (I agree some easier ones might be good too as an introduction) | |
| Oct 3 14:41:54 | 8m 37s | Pillagers Plague | ♥ 4 | Loved this! Very well done. It's actually a pretty genius twist on tower defense - it means you can't rely too much on placing every tower upfront, but it does give you a fair (but challenging) amount of time to slap down some late-towers in response to corpses piling up. Very happy to see the level change in the middle - oh, and loved the end screen! The character graphics were especially well done - the little zombies were kinda scary and kinda cute! Great job! |
| Oct 3 14:51:02 | 9m 08s | [X-ED OUT] | ♥ 4 | This game was awesome! It has some of my absolute favorite game design elements (and the hardest to implement) - player risk/rearward management. Letting the enemies get dangerously close to reap more cash - or even loosing health as a way of 'borrowing' from your future self to guarantee an upgrade now. A fantastic bit of challenging and intriguing gameplay from such a beautifully simple concept. And so much polish! The blood effects were super satisfying, the damage post-processing was a lovely touch, and the music was absolutely banging. Loved the little wiggly enemy design as well. Really well done! |
| Oct 3 15:03:32 | 12m 30s | Elos - a progressive third person fighter | ♥ 1 | Fun! I really like how the music cue can be used to tell when enemies are spawning. I wish the progression was a little faster at the start, but I do like the tradeoff of spending cash to stay alive but also progress. Good job! |
| Oct 3 15:18:59 | 15m 27s | Signal | ♥ 1 | Cool idea! Got the first step (I believe) but then we all died Great sense of humor! Well done |
| Oct 3 15:23:28 | 4m 29s | Last 5 Minutes | ♥ 1 | Haha this game is adorable! And the combination of depleting bars that only 'trigger' on the 10s interval creates some quite engaging gameplay. Really enjoyable experience - very well done with this. |
| Oct 3 15:29:49 | 6m 21s | Sunfall | ♥ 2 | Wow! What a well made game - fun and addicting in all the right ways. And a truly shocking amount of beautify and polish! I really liked some of the subtle additions - like the 'meters' score gently pulsing when you reach an noteworthy number - or the melting disintegration effect as blocks fade out. The Shepard's tone creates a uneasy feeling that really serves the mood well. Incredible job! |
| Oct 3 15:33:25 | 3m 36s | 10 Second Traffic | ♥ 3 | Really cute and fun game! Played it for quite a bit - love the little player's choice in how to increase the difficulty. Great job with the audio and styling as well - the limited color palette really pops and gives the game a very distinct flavor. The realization that cars can come 'off' the lanes and slide about - a wonderful moment. Also, can I say, when you die and your little flat boy just gets repeatedly run over - disturbing, but very funny! |
| Oct 3 15:53:34 | 20m 09s | Bills to Pay | ♥ 3 | Wow! A crazy amount of depth and content for a jam game. Really loved existing in this world and helping Billy fight through the constant charges - almost like a twist on Stardew Valley - what you escaped to the mystical forest but still had debtors calling? This game has a ton of details: the occasional multiflower the little birds on stumps different replenishment rates for different tasks being able to double-fertilize for faster gardening Yeah, a really wonderful game - glad I was able to beat it! |
| Oct 3 16:01:35 | 8m 01s | 10HEAD | ♥ 1 | Very fun! So wonderful that people are able to find new, exiting twists on classic, arcade-puzzle joy. Really enjoyed my time with this game - satisfying, cute characters, lovely little tunes, and highly engaging. Really great job! Screenshot 2022-10-03 115934.png |
| Oct 3 16:04:14 | 2m 39s | Every10Seconds | ♥ 1 | Very fun! Awesome job for 6 hours - I especially liked that you could screen-wrap to get to a tricky portal. Good job |
| Oct 3 16:27:15 | 23m 01s | 10 Second Apocalypse | ♥ 0 | A really great idea - and the 'gets worse' effects are really well implemented! Just too difficult for me - I did manage to get a little crafting, but once the enemies start to pile on, it seems unlikely I could dispatch them fast enough to get any more resources. But it is clear an astonishing amount of work went into this! For that you should be very proud. Really loved all the different enemy types - especially the corrupted tentacles. |
| Oct 3 16:44:00 | 16m 45s | Fight The Darkness | ♥ 2 | Really cool idea! Nice to see a game where every 10s something good happens! 😉 Love the tradeoffs that come from visibility and 'firepower' being tied together - and kiting to get the perfect triple kill was very satisfying. A beautiful looking game as well - very nicely done! |
| Oct 3 16:48:16 | 4m 16s | Distracted Driver | ♥ 2 | Haha a very fun and funny game! The first moment when as silly text comes in, then you look up and the road is just covered in carnage - loved it. Good choice of art and audio assets, and appreciate the slightly different take on driving mechanics, a small refreshing twist. Good work! |
| Oct 3 16:52:15 | 3m 59s | The Cursed Tart | ♥ 2 | Ah, yeah, sorry - it is triggering Windows Defender which deletes the exe quickly Screenshot 2022-10-03 125119.png |
| Oct 3 16:57:07 | 4m 52s | WorldFlip | ♥ 3 | Great little game! Some pretty cool moments - clearing out enemies going down a corridor, just to pop back to the other word, then fight new enemies coming out! Created some really nice bits of gameplay where you are running to try to get just a chest just in time. An excellent idea that was very well executed. Good job! |
| Oct 3 17:04:09 | 7m 02s | ULTRA INSTINCT NINJA MASTER of the Dark Forest | ♥ 1 | Wow - this game is awesome!! I loved so much about it: The aesthetic is quite cool - the dark, scratchy art style really serves the story behind it well I loved the core mechanic - easy to learn, fun, satisfying, and feel very cool The character designs were badass, and the fact different enemies had different 'fight styles' that come out in the core mechanic - loved it The particle effects, sound effects, and 'hud' make the experience very satisfying The music is great too! |
| Oct 4 13:44:12 | 20h 40m | Timeslime | ♥ 1 | I really enjoyed my time in this mind-bending and inventive game. The polish was off the charts - the visuals especially creating an instantly satisfying and engaging setup. I think there are a few 'games' that could branch off from here - maybe one where you are able to edit your movelist somehow, and are doing so to react to more dynamic enemy placement - or one where you always start from the center, and are perfecting a more rhythmic set of choices - with the ability redo your. Perhaps the best thing about this game is how much depth is hiding within such a well-made little entry! All-in-all - super enjoyable, and I will definitely keep this game in mind when developing mechanics in the future. You have inspired me greatly, and should be very proud! (In some way, it reminds me a bit of my first jam game oroboro, which also used a 'compete with your past self' - though your game is much a more beautiful and spectacular first entry!) |
| Oct 4 14:08:15 | 24m 03s | IRON DAWN | ♥ 2 | Wow! RTS for a jam gam?? Such courage! I am truly shocked at how well you were able to pull it off! The early game was an intriguing process of learning the map, and establishing strongholds away from the enemies center. The midgame was a frantic, micro-heavy defense against the steamrolling android horde - one which I barley survived. The late game, the enemy seemed to have it's overlord shut down? They did not pursue my 2 remaining human strongholds, and just froze in their many cities, killing them off. I was, slowly but surely, able to retake the few power plants and mines that had not been wiped out, as well as killing every last android squad - the remaining droids put up no resistance. I only wish there was an end screen - still not sure if I won or lost. I absolutely loved the voice lines - and you did a great job naming the different cities (I fought hard to hold 'Coal For Future'). The multiple camera angles - the fun 'mini-game' of getting an enemy to latch onto a high-health unit, only to sneak behind and flank with a low-health kill squad. Incredibly impressive entry - super well done! |
| Oct 4 14:17:04 | 8m 49s | Sally's Scribbles | ♥ 2 | This game was so well made! All the little details made it wonderful: the fact is scrolls through your days work, the polish and charm in the backgrounds, the wonderfully cute character design - all add to such a wonderful game. Turnip businessman? Sports vampire? Gym-bro car cyclops? I love them all! Adding colors to her palette was a great move - a fantastic way to iterate on the gameplay. As a programmer, I am racking my brain to figure out how you did the recognition of a 'good' image. If you are willing to post the source code, I would love to take a look - or even just a brief comment would be well appreciated. If not, I understand that too. All in all, fantastic job!! |
| Oct 4 14:28:00 | 10m 56s | Floofy Toot | ♥ 1 | This is actually quite an interesting game concept - the slow turn combined with the powerful launch creates some interesting decisions for the player about what routes to choose, and how best to stay ahead of the kale. And when you are able to make a mid-aid dodge, or redirect to collect several burritos in an arc - it feels pretty badass. Concept and art are fun and silly - but if you ever want to revisit this, there is alot of potential as well! Perhaps different boost powers, or different pickup types. All in all, a very fun little gem of an entry! |
| Oct 4 16:01:13 | 1h 33m | Alarm Clock Arcade | ♥ 2 | What an incredible idea! So innovative and fun - you did a really get job! There were a few times where victory was not possible, and a few small considerations like enemies being able to 'hide behind' powerups, which is likely not expected by the player (Also, it seems the enemies move randomly with lower probability on a fast timer - thus it is possible for them to erratically jitter and kill a player a few steps away. Perhaps another way to have this behavior is, say, enemies only moving every second - thus the player can time-out their movements, and 'get past' one that they saw just move - something like that). Also - an intro cinematic? Comedic level-over lines? Changing level sizes and colors? You clearly put much work and love into this game, and it shows! Music was great too! All in all, I really loved this entry - and cannot get over what a fantastic idea using clock changing digits as a level layout is. Really, really brilliant work. |
| Oct 4 16:09:49 | 8m 36s | Power Balance! | ♥ 1 | Such a cute and fun game! Quite difficult - but I was so engaged with the play, I couldn't give up! I finally won, and got to dance along that wonderful music. Once you get a handle on your character's movement, and the bosse's 'attack types' - it is very doable - but still challenging - game of cat and mouse. Swapping between frantic falling-to-dodge and then climbing-while-attacking made for a great rhythm of gameplay. The character's were very cute, and the visual and sound effects satisfying and crisp. Wonderful job! |
| Oct 4 16:16:55 | 7m 06s | Collect in 10 | ♥ 1 | A fun little game! Some very tense moments trying to 'thread the needle' between off-color mushrooms to get an extra point. The SFX were nice and peppy. Well done! |
| Oct 4 16:28:03 | 11m 08s | DecaDare | ♥ 3 | Oh my god! What a stellar entry! A huge amount of work went into this - and it shows! The music and animations were jaw-droppingly good - and every scene was filled with energy and charm. I can't believe there are 2d and 3d games mixed together here - this must have been a true feat of programming. Some of the games were a little rough on my carpal tunnel - but overall, they were enjoyable, hilarious, and inspired. I did NOT expect an operation soda stream reference in a jam game - had me laughing out loud! Also, the character designs are absolutely charming - I love Grog and know he will look so fetching in those glasses (monocle?) Even the menu screen was an incredibly polished and drool-educing feast of sights and sounds. Good job team! You have outdone yourselves! |
| Oct 4 16:32:33 | 4m 30s | Super Garden Lord | ♥ 1 | Holy crap this game haha - why was the most frenetic, chaotic and intense entry this year about gardening? The moment where you decide to just spam space and hear the cacophonous sqeek-screams and the camera whizzes about - hilarious. The art is actually quite well rendered - the sketchy, painterly effect with this color palette is quite fetching. Good job! Got quite a belly laugh from this game (and the QA!). |
| Oct 4 16:43:29 | 10m 56s | Reboot | ♥ 1 | "It's a UNIX system...! I know this!" Really wonderful idea - lots of fun, quite challenging, and fits that very specific aesthetic of 'early programmers that were making futuristic stuff with minimal tools' Excellent entry, very inspired! |
| Oct 4 22:34:08 | 5h 50m | Out To Pasture! | ♥ 1 | Beautiful graphics! A lovely character - and really cool you got a spherical movement system working! Well done |
| Oct 4 22:55:43 | 21m 35s | Space Frontier | ♥ 2 | Loved this art style so much! The little characters were adorable, and so fetching. Sometimes it was hard to tell from 'actual' UI vs cool sci-fi styling - but I really appreciate the aesthetic. Really ambitious and intriguing gameplay - as others have said, with some more work on balance and additional agency for the player, this could be a really addicting, top-tier space-ship management game! Super cool entry! |
| Oct 5 13:45:24 | 14h 49m | Winding Woods | ♥ 1 | Wow! What an innovative entry - I loved it! I was surprised at the sense of dread and nurturing I was able to feel twoards the adorable little wormy. The atmosphere - especially the music -really sold the idea of a mysterious and dangerous (but wonderous) woods. The UI was clear, beautifully rendered, and totally fit with the aesthetic. A really unique and special entry - well done!! |
| Oct 5 13:58:14 | 12m 50s | Survives on time island | ♥ 3 | Wow what an ambitious jam entry! Amazing that were able to get survival mechanics, animals, and such a charming world - and all so quickly. Really awesome you used your own engine - so cool. Great job! Oh - I should note, the cursor capture was quite aggressive - made it difficult to manage having two monitors, it seemed to pull cursor even when 'not in focus'. But other than that - it ran flawlessly. |
| Oct 5 14:02:33 | 4m 19s | Space Platformer | ♥ 0 | Very cool idea! Could not get past jumping back and forth up the corridor myself, but had fun trying! Nice to play a classic platformer with the challenging timed elements. Well done! |
| Oct 5 14:11:08 | 8m 35s | BARRAGE | ♥ 3 | Wow wow wow! I have so much love for this game. It does everything right: the gameplay is challenging, balanced, and well telegraphed so every moment feels engaging and fair. The sound effects are bubbly and crisp. The visuals are draw-droopingly gorgeous. The aesthetics and story of the game sell the mechanics perfectly, and you can immediately jump into the action. The physics-based elements made it feel so dynamic and alive - and I was never able to rest, always on my toes and preparing for the next strike. I could gush about this game forever - you totally knocked it out of the park. You should all be very proud - an absolutely 'stellar' entry 🤩. |
| Oct 5 14:13:58 | 2m 50s | Demon King Wizard's Hat Escape | ♥ 2 | Very fun! Really cool you were able to figure out so many different 'magic spells' for the hat - totally unique! I loved the little skeleton guys - so spooky and cute! Also, the background is actually just beautiful. Well done!! |
| Oct 5 14:21:56 | 7m 58s | Envelope | ♥ 2 | Very fun! Once you get the hang of the green/red indicator, of flipping the letters, and checking for 'special requests' from customs on the bottom right - it is very fluid and fun! I love the look of this game - the sort-of abstract and close-up diegetic interface. Really great job with the feel of this game - it can be a really hard thing to nail the animation timings, screen layout, etc - but if feels perfect here. Well done! |
| Oct 5 14:41:57 | 20m 01s | BackroomsBreak - Alpha version test v0.1 | ♥ 1 | This is such a powerful and well made experience! As someone who has liked the 'backrooms' for a while (just as cool, community-driven internet storytelling) - this one of my new favorite pieces of media. To actually hear the florescent hum, the walk yellow stained carpet - a dream come true! Also - bringing a sledgehammer is like the ultimate horror fantasy! With backrooms especially - the tradeoff of running swiftly for the 'known' corridor you can see, versus slowly bashing your way through to a new, potentially safer (or more dangerous) area - it creates a wonderful high-tension decision. This game is perfectly rendered - not 'beautiful' persay, but it captures the haunting emptiness, the ambiance of a forgotten space, and the terror of unknown shouting , and the lonely confusion of running away. There was a wonderful moment, where I heard the creature approach, and took off darting down different corridors. Them, finally feeling safe, I rounded a corner to see a broken wall! I had been here before - which mean's the creature must not be far away! Then I heard his shout! A perfect moment. I got a text message just after it and nearly jumped out of my socks! I did eventually run out of willpower (which I was fine with - I want to see what happens when I got caught!) - but the creature never did seem to find me. A little extra polish on the UI, AI, and gameplay - and this could be a fan-favorite. If you have not yet shared this elsewhere in the internet-horror-storywriting community, you totally should! All in all - you should be very proud - Although you did not have a huge team nor tons of time - I can tell already that this game is going to be memorable for me. |
| Oct 5 14:57:38 | 15m 41s | Hylee's Little Potion Shop | ♥ 3 | Very fun game! A bit too challenging for me - I don't think I helped a single customer, haha, but I loved being in this world! Not sure what I was doing wrong - I would drop the 3 ingredients into a cauldron, and perform the little button presses, but I don't thing I ever got anything 'out'. The 10s curse is such a good idea - and well implemented. It adds a little flavor, without being overbearing, and fits the world perfectly! The character design is so delightful and well rendered - and the spells ingredients so unique! Even though I knew I couldn't win, I was happy I got to sit and read through the whole spellbook. Also - totally normal for a jam game, but rapidly pressing 'q' or what-have you can be a little rough on my carpal tunnel. But pressing the different keys in order is fun and challenging! The 2d was was so cute and fun - I assume the 3d art was an asset pack? If not, that was a jaw-dropping amount of work! All in all - great job. I really loved your art, polish, and worldbuilding. A very charming entry! |
| Oct 5 15:01:36 | 3m 58s | Cyber Samurai | ♥ 1 | A very cool idea! A bit too tough for me - but I had fun trying! Very into cyberpunk aesthetics right now, so it was awesome to see such a cool futuristic world represented in the jam. The title screen and character art are amazing - well done! |
