Apr 20 02:37:06 Guardian of the Flame ♥ 0 nice game. Short arcade action. Took a while to figure out the mechanics and find the limited controls. That's not a complaint, just an observation. The controls feel pretty reactive despite being an HTML game. The audio was good but a smidgen too loud. But hey I have a volume control on my speaker. Overall though it was a fun platformer. :D
Apr 20 02:44:23 7m 17s Crystal Defense ♥ 0 I love TD games myself. while you'll never flush out one over two days, you have the bones of a good one. The graphics are pretty good for the towers but the invaders blend in too much with the trail and sometimes all I could see was a health bar. I think that your handling of color is really what makes everything tie together nicely. A good color palette covers a multitude... The audio was pretty mello but I didn't hear any sound fx. Overall though, a great entry.
Apr 20 02:50:31 6m 08s Keep the Pink Ball alive ♥ 1 This was kind of rough. The graphics, though simple were decent for a game jam. They were clear and served there purpose. No sound. The controls were/are truly horrifying and drain any fun out of the game. Might be different if I could customize them but the key mapping was brutal. My only other complaint is there is no way I could see to exit the game. I had to force kill it. No mid game menu, that I found. No exit game from the main menu, where you end up at, the game over menu. I like the concept though and the adherence to the theme. It felt like the start of a cohesive game, prob would be a good basis for a 4 player SSB style party game.
Apr 20 02:53:14 2m 43s Satisfy'n: Keep the Love Alive ♥ 1 the screenshots look good. I got an error when I tried to run it. Shrug, could be my browser. I didn't submit a vote though since I couldn't play it.Untitled.png
Apr 20 03:17:34 24m 20s KeepItAlive ♥ 1 no idea how to run it or compile it or gain access to all the files. Is there anywhere else you've published it?
Apr 20 03:18:57 1m 23s Spread ♥ 1 I couldn't play it on html, so I downloaded the windows version. You posted only the exe and godot requires the pak file to be with it to run. So I downloaded it from the git repository. Not sure if that's the current version but otherwise would be unrunnable. I wasn't able to get past the title screen before it hard crashed my computer. Shrug, wish I could tell you more but I didn't even get an error.
Apr 20 03:27:50 8m 53s Rogue Janitor ♥ 1 The visuals were great. I could have used a little contrast at first for the ceiling and floor but I got used to it. The controls were smooth and easy to use. I really liked it. Really polished . It took me a while to realize how big the space I was working in. You did very well focusing on the primary game loop and polishing to a nice shine. Well done.
Apr 20 03:35:37 7m 47s Coronary Flypass ♥ 2 best game so far. Things you did right. First, you included the pck file with the build. Thank you. Next, your manner in which you handled the first level. You didn't start the timer, you gave all the important information right away in a way that wasn't information overload. Great way to include a "tutorial" level without feeling like I"m jumping through hoops. By far the best game I've played so far this LD.
Apr 20 03:37:47 2m 10s Feeding Time! ♥ 0 enjoyed the screen shots. Could use some instruction on how to run it, if you're going to publish a file like this.
Apr 20 03:51:56 14m 09s Tomb Of Ice ♥ 1 Great concept, amazing execution and points for including an emulator. Really great job. The art work was spot on, the color palette, the controls, everything was great. Thanks for the game.
Apr 20 04:03:15 11m 19s Hacking is Probably Not Like This ♥ 1 That's awesome. You did a great job of creating an immersive environment with very simple game mechanics. Really enjoyed it. Prob play this after LD is over when I have more time. Great job.
Apr 20 04:49:22 46m 07s Pet Life ♥ 2 great job. The art style, while simplistic on first glance, really shows both a lot of effort and an eye for detail and consistency. Reminded me of brickleberry (art wise). The controls were ok. Responsive but I would have liked to assign them or have something a little more traditional than t and b. but I made it work ;) Overall, the sound, the feel, the aesthetic as well as the UI were well done. I had a small bug that I mentioned to you but I refreshed and it didn't come back. Shrug. OVerall though, great job.
Apr 20 12:49:41 8h 00m Control Room ♥ 1 I really liked the idea. I had considered something similar myself but couldn't wrap my head around how the game play loop would work given the short amount of time. Kudos for you figuring out an inventive way to do so. I enjoyed it.
Apr 20 12:50:11 30s The Protector ♥ 1 Good execution. There were a few errors from the log in the background. I got a screen shot of it but it didn't affect gameplay I don't imagine. The Graphics were pretty good. I like the shading you put into it and
Apr 20 12:56:00 5m 49s Frost & Fire ♥ 1 Nice execution, there's a learning curve but once I figured it out, pretty fun. Interesting concept on the theme, the graphics reminded me of the old atari I grew up with. Good job!
Apr 20 13:23:22 27m 22s Keep the light alive ♥ 1 really cool puzzle game, excellent use of light, not just the beam. Really neat. I found myself wishing i had a pull button. LOL good job. I love these types of puzzle games.
Apr 20 14:09:50 46m 28s Emit In bpm ♥ 1 Felt like I was playing boop it for a second. Really good use of music. I really loved how you adapted to the theme. Good presentation. Thanks.
Apr 20 14:16:14 6m 24s My First LD - Choosy! ♥ 1 high marks. great use of the theme. I really enjoyed the game even if I'm not good at it. The concept was original and unique. I could see this being a commercial arcade kinetic fruit ninja type game. Great job. The audio was ok. A little repetitive but ok. The graphics were good, controls good. There's some difficulty to it and very much has a learning curve. This is good btw. I don't like my games easy. Good job.
Apr 20 14:28:03 11m 49s Hold That Thought ♥ 0 I don't think this game was for me. I didn't really enjoy it. That aside, the controls were great. I didn't feel any issue with the controls. The game itself, it's an interesting concept but the execution reminds me a lot of games like agario. I liked the rpg element of deciding which skills were most useful. The audio was pleasant and fit well. Saying it was like agario isn't a bad thing mind you, the game is insanely popular. However, for me, agario isn't my type of game and so maybe I'm not the best person to judge this from a enjoyment or fun perspective. Technically speaking, you did a great job. The graphics were appropriate, the audio was good, controls were good. I gave you good marks in those. I felt the incorporation of the theme was a little bit of a stretch but imaginative. Overall, you did a great job I would say.
Apr 20 14:58:54 30m 51s Mom, I Started a Cult! ♥ 1 First, let me say that you had me at "Mom, I started a cult". I'll start with the complaints. Resolution. For a web integrated environment, I couldn't scale it and had find a monitor with better resolution than my main laptop screen. That means I had to move my laptop from my comfy couch position to my office with my dock. That's ok but I would have liked to change the resolution. Next, when I mouse over the cities the windows pop up automatically. This is annoying, at least for me. I would have rather liked to click on them and have it open. Also, I'm not sure if there's a loose condition. There also doesn't appear to have a win condition either. I've made it to aug 26th with all cities maxed and all upgrades purchased, with half a million dollars. It feels more like a one of those games were you just click away and eventually make your goal. Some do it faster, others not so much. That's ok, as those games do have a place. But it feels like it's not sure if it wants to be a clicker game or an rpg simulation. The good things. I love the title. Like I said I was in at the title. The graphics and interface while simple convey the information you need to play the game. The audio is good if not repetitive but hey it's a game play loop right. The interface for each of the cities was well done. Overall, you did a great job. Please understand that most of my gripes and my suggestions here are merely my opinion and I recognize full well that some of the things I'm pointing out really couldn't be accomplished in two days. I would have loved to see more upgrades (I know time involved), some kind of lose situation showing it's an rpg sim with branching pathways and multiple events or some kind of active form of getting cash/followers. The passive methods/automated methods are fine but it should have some kind of activity for me to do other than wait patiently to click the purchase next upgrade button. Great concept, would love to see it fully flushed out.
Apr 20 15:58:04 59m 10s Rampage ♥ 2 Great job. I can't say there was anything I didn't like about it. The only thing I was kind of 'eh' about was the controls. They didn't feel as responsive as they should at first. Then I read the sign about the speed boost and I was like oh, ok. That was an intentional part of the difficulty curve. The game was fun. It's one of the few I actually played till I beat it. That isn't just cause I love your postmortems either. The game is engaging. The tutorial portion (signs) was almost too long but ended just as I considered, do I really need all the sign info? The audio was great. It wasn't overpowering or obnoxious, a real solid loop. The light air and mood of the art style and music made for a very pleasant game experience. It wasn't really funny but it didn't seem like it was setup for that. Innovative? Well I can't say that it is at it's base level. There are tons of escort quests in games and a few I can think of where someone/thing is chasing you. But none that I can think of that you had to keep them alive while they were trying to hurt you. Overall, I felt the game was great and I really enjoyed playing it.
Apr 20 16:19:40 21m 36s Anti-Toxin ♥ 0 Really enjoyed. Fun to play. The music was pretty good. I loved the minimap and the level design. Very original. Someone compared it to a tower defense game though I disagree. You clearly pointed out the "tower" you can set down is a barricade and the other power is an instant radius kill. While there are similarities, I would say yours is different enough that it doesn't follow the TD game model. The game play is interesting and challenging. Controls were a little weird to get used to and I wished I could have remapped them but I got used to them. One of the few games that I played until I beat it. Great job especially for your second LD.
Apr 20 16:30:31 10m 51s Frying Nemo ♥ 1 The game is great. It would make an awesome party game. Kinetic? or motion tracking game? I don't know. It was fun. The only critique I had was that if I got into a rhythm I could steal the fish out of the red hand as soon as he dropped them. That fell apart about wave 9. I don't know if that was intentional but if not, may want to add a delay. Also loved wave 4.
Apr 20 17:19:47 49m 16s The 24th Century Surgeon ♥ 1 Great job. Very unique take on the theme as well as use of layers and masks. Really great job.
Apr 20 17:27:22 7m 35s Is anybody out there? ♥ 2 The use of color and the slow draining and darkening of the screen was very well done. Excellent use of graphics. The game is very disorienting, which I feel might be part of it. Overall, it's a very strange game. There is a lot of narrative potential here. The connection to the theme felt forced though and I didn't really feel in control of anything that was going on. Again, lots of room for narrative exploration.
Apr 20 18:26:27 59m 05s Filicide ♥ 1 really unique. I enjoyed it. I liked the lake of the normal bs clouding up the hud. I like how you incorporated the static effects tied to health (or so it seemed). The cover system was pretty cool though I was at times wondering if it was beneficial. Aiming was tricky but I got the hang of it. Overall, a really great job for two days.
Apr 20 18:35:26 8m 59s Raising Cerberus ♥ 1 It's a little confusing to figure out what to do. I was kind of lost on playing with him. The fishing was a little awkward, I found a great spot just to the bottom right of the map icon to spam to pull stuff almost every time. The concept was neat but it felt like you were trying to include too much at once and didn't have time for polish. I like the concept though.
Apr 20 18:42:25 6m 59s Space Station Alpha ♥ 1 I liked it but had trouble figuring out some of the gameplay. I died a lot. You did a good job with the art. Pico art isn't easy. Good job
Apr 20 18:52:17 9m 52s Cryoloop ♥ 0 interesting, loved the graphics. I didn't have any sound so not sure that was supposed to be the case. the turning twice between directions was annoying. The controls were awkward in that way. I can face forward and turn to the right and forward (45* angle) but I can't move forward that way. I can turn again and now I'm facing full right and I can move forward that way. honestly, the turns should have taken us all the way to 90* on turns. There really doesn't seem to be a reason why not. I did enjoy the game over all. I wish there had been sound or if there is that I had been able to hear it. I enjoyed the dialogue going on. The graphics were great as was the user interface. Unique and I enjoyed it.
Apr 20 19:03:10 10m 53s RoboCharger ♥ 2 this was fun. The concept was different if not a little strange. I felt like the phone was more a mugguffin to keep the battery charged. Other than the arrow(map) feature, it didn't really seem to do anything. honestly, the game was more fun without the arrow feature. I found with using it, I could just run past everything all the way to the safe zone on most of the levels. I was initially annoyed by the close camera view because it made everything terribly hard to see, especially when I was returning fire offscreen. Then I got a magnifying glass off the ground. I realized it was intentional. Well played. My only really complaint is that while I could shoot a robot when we were both standing on ground, if there was water between us, the laser wouldn't fly over it. Not sure that should be the case. Overall though, good job.
Apr 20 19:11:15 8m 05s Keep Me Breathing ♥ 3 great job. At first I thought this was going to be a stressful puzzle game. Then I was like oh this is mellow. The music was relaxing. It was fairly simple controls. Then the difficulty rampped up and I was not mistaken. Great job with the music and the graphics. I really enjoyed the game.
Apr 20 19:26:35 15m 20s Lights Out ♥ 4 Really fun game. I enjoyed it. The controls were simple and yet played into the challenge of the game with the aiming. The skill ramped up appropriately and the upgrades made sense. I only wished I had been able to shoot through the barricades or over the generator. Reminded me a little of Yet another zombie defense game. None the less I enjoy those types of games. Very fun. good job with everything.
Apr 20 19:31:11 4m 36s The negotiator ♥ 1 This was great. The music was pretty good and set the tone well, the gui was great and easy to use. The dialogue though, that's great. Amazing job.
Apr 20 19:37:21 6m 10s Bestseller ♥ 1 Before I've even opened the game, I want to say the coverart you uploaded to itch is amazing. ok, now I'm going to play the game... Wow that's hard. The basic game mechanic is the same as most "balancing" games where you rock side to side with the coffee thrown in. Ok basic game loop covered... now... WOW. your art is amazing and the music is really great. I really love this game. It's simple but the polish you put into what's there is great. I feel it could some balancing (see what I did there) but this is a really humorous and entertaining game.
Apr 20 19:49:48 12m 27s Electro Service 2: Electric Boogaloo ♥ 1 I get the same crash when the pat me shows up. It hit me when I was mousing over the trojan icon if that helps. Fun little sim game. I enjoyed it and I have a soft spot for python programs. Well done getting so much done in 3 days.
Apr 21 01:23:08 5h 33m Marrow ♥ 3 I love that you made this in python. The game runs smoothly. The graphics are great for a game like this. The tone and theme work well together. I like the kind of "Crank" inspired murder spree you got going on. The enemies are varied in both appearance and ability and require different tactics. It looks like you spent some time on this, approx 72 hours am I right? Seriously, I really enjoyed this game.
