"Alle meine Entchen" - Ich weiß warum die Hoffnung gestorben ist xD You did an amazing Job making the game feel realy empty and lonley... At some point I wanted to jump of the cliff but luckily there were bounding boxes. Thanks for the amazing adventure.

Awww, i hope it is not autobiographic <3 Love for you ^^

The atmosphere suited the game very well and it looked really polished! The game was really good!

krebzor 2020-04-20 17:24

I did like the game it was fun, however I did not feel the theme so hard. The pixel art is neat however!

The use of color and the slow draining and darkening of the screen was very well done. Excellent use of graphics. The game is very disorienting, which I feel might be part of it. Overall, it's a very strange game. There is a lot of narrative potential here. The connection to the theme felt forced though and I didn't really feel in control of anything that was going on. Again, lots of room for narrative exploration.

I think there are some graphical glitches on Ubuntu 18.04 with the chromium 80. I liked the sound design and the wind noise. The atmosphere was spooky and dark. What the hells the dolls for? The messages were pretty fitting. The end where the circle gets smaller and smaller is a nice effect. Will try it later on windows to find the objects without the graphical glitches.

I loved the atmosphere, it was tense. Great job!

mobiledev 2020-04-24 09:05

Loved the feel and pace of the game. Great atmosphere too. Well done!

I like the dark atmosphere but I miss a more intensive story telling. You simply walk around the map and press enter on a few randomly changing objects until the game is suddenly over which happens way to fast. I think there is a lot of potential in the game which isn't used.

That was kinda depressing :D and creepy. Loved the use of ambience sound. The writing helped to convey the state of the character and the slight change of lighting and color was good visual feedback. I was able to beat it on my second try and I'd say it's a little too much of try and error game play. I basically just ran from side to side to find the next trigger item.

The controls worked but didn't feel very platformish. Also I didn't like the design choice to reset the camera on landing. Going down stairs was really nauseating that way. The art was adequate, but could use some more variation and details.

All in all, a pleasent surprise. I'm a sucker for creepy games :)

its not bad, desing levels its nice with the ambience sound.

geojax 2020-04-24 19:53

Really well done! I the graphics do a great job of setting the mood and so does the audio. You did a great job of communicating the right feelings.

I agree with @duke above about everything. Instead of the camera resetting when the character lands, it should be constantly following the character. Also I didn't feel like I was getting better at the game, I was just learning where triggers were so that I could get to them faster. I think a lose condition is unnecessary, since I'll just start over and play through the same things. Instead, just have the world go gray -- seeing color return is pretty rewarding.

I'll also add that, were you to continue flushing out the game, I'd love to see a little more foreshadow of the ending. I think the problem is that the narrator is a completely reliable source of information throughout the game, and the player learns that what the narrator says is basically the way to navigate the world, yet the twist at the end asks you to question the narrator's reliability.

Really great work though! I'd return for updates.

Thank you all for your feedback, its really appriciated :) I am already thinking about how to modify the game design to keep the feeling, and to better guide the player on what is going on.... And yeah, the art can be improved too... more details, you name it. We will update the game and also add some content that we just couldn't fit in in the 3 days...just saying dolls.... Thx for the hint with the camera, normally i am the first one to complain about bumpy rides!

weird little game that actually got me hooked for 3 attempts... could not keep it alive. SAD ;) love color play. love the messages/thoughts.

loginaut 2020-04-24 20:03

I thought the tweening and particle effects were very nicely done, overall the ambiance was great! The game just seemed sort of... bleak? I was waiting for some sort of payoff that never came at the end it seemed. I think that's an indicator of your game being an interesting hook, I wanted more of it and felt like it ended too soon! Nice job.

bart-wach 2020-04-24 20:45

Nice graphics and the mood set by the sounds.

nathant 2020-04-25 03:32

This is one of the darker dark games I've played this jam. Nice execution of the theme. I like how it ends, or begins? Nice entry!

likirus 2020-04-27 19:39

Such an eerie atmosphere and really fitting aesthetics and sounds, I couldn't stay alive for very long though

alexascher 2020-04-27 19:47

Nice dark mood

Very interesting mechanic of things changing while you are interacting with other things.

Very strong atmosphere progression - color loss, darkening, character aging and ambient music makes a great combination.

The world felt appropriately empty, which was good for the atmosphere. The character and story might have needed a bit more love to feel more engaging.

In terms of mechanics, was ok, wall collisions felt a bit iffy - that space left between the wall and character was a bit too big.

Nice touch with the ending though, liked the ambiguity.

Overall, very atmospheric, wished there was more of it.

sansman01 2020-05-03 14:22

@geojax I changed the feeling of the camera now: it follows you but only if you move out of center too much :)
