Aug 27 08:50:00 2-deoxyribose Looks neat! I love the art style and the way those guys want to get bitches :D
Aug 27 20:37:00 11h 47m EvoBit I've played games with similar mechanics before (on the AppStore just a few weeks ago), but this one is really great. Haven't seen this mechanic implemented better, especially considering the time constraint. Good going, keep it up!
Aug 28 13:28:00 16h 51m GeneRogue I didn't understand all the mechanics, but overall it was pretty fun :-)
Aug 28 14:26:00 58m 00s Mutate Cannot launch on my MBP :-(
Aug 28 15:46:00 1h 20m And Thus She Spake Really neat take on the whole mass-consuming idea. Unfortunately, there is a stack overflow thing going on, so you can't play it for too long, but I'd really love to see a development of this concept.
Aug 28 15:54:00 8m 00s Life of a Worm I agree with Zed, basically :-)
Aug 28 16:11:00 17m 00s 'The Neon Pink Philosophy' Really neat game, mostly because of the narrative. It's really good fun though, and I like how it shows how story can drive the game as opposed to the other way around. Good one.
Aug 28 16:17:00 6m 00s The evolution games / unnatural selection I can't say I understood much of it, but it was really fun in a weird unreasonable sort of way :'D
Aug 28 16:23:00 6m 00s Adventurers Evolution It was pretty fun, but I can't say I fully understood the fight mechanic and what tagging has anything to do with it, but what the hell :-)
Aug 28 16:30:00 7m 00s The ducks are taking over!! Can't open it in Chrome :-(
Aug 28 16:37:00 7m 00s Wormelution Amazing graphic and sound design, almost realistic evolution simulation. Very well done :-)
Aug 28 16:47:00 10m 00s Cosmogonie I've spent 30 minutes playing it and I have no idea why. I basically drowned in it. Great interactive art piece. Well done.
Aug 28 16:56:00 9m 00s BLOCKVOLVE For some reason I thought "Thomas was Alone meets Osmos," even though that's not exactly true. The concept is indeed very neat, would be nice to see some development on that, preferably on mobile devices. Also, I liked the symmetry of it, sort of reminiscent of some Arcanoid experience from back in the day. Really didn't expect this game to be this fun, and yet it is.
Aug 28 17:09:00 13m 00s The Origin of Valmalvax Coudn't immediately figure out what caused changes in generation or what I was supposed to do with seemingly dead dudes, but I like the controls, and graphics look nice and polished.
Aug 28 17:19:00 10m 00s blob Yeah, can't play it =\
Aug 28 17:27:00 8m 00s A Matter of L and D Always fun to see a good simulation, and graphics are also pretty slick, considering the time constraint. Spore-ish :-)
Aug 28 17:28:00 1m 00s Genetics-Pop Web version wouldn't load. Just sayin'.
Aug 28 17:33:00 5m 00s Evolving Threat Really slick roguelike with art style reminiscent of Binding of Isaac.
Aug 28 18:11:00 38m 00s Ideas Pretty nice platformer, fun, great esthetics, nice idea. Controls felt a bit imprecise, however.
Aug 28 18:24:00 13m 00s Yellow Dog Really neat take on tamagochi :-) When the dog grew old, I kept expecting it to drop dead, but eventually ran out of patience :-) Nice game though!
Aug 28 18:35:00 11m 00s The Origin of Faeces I like the core mechanic. What you should do is lose the run button (let the ape do the running) and release it on iOS.
Aug 28 18:44:00 9m 00s Tonality A really neat meachanic, totally love it, but the game is nightmarishly hard!
Aug 28 18:52:00 8m 00s Universal Adaptors! I wanted to ask what the jumping four-legged green thing was supposed to be, but I guess I don't really want to know :D
Aug 28 19:11:00 19m 00s AvRvE Absolutely wonderful. Puzzles get pretty goddamn hard soon enough :D
Aug 28 19:15:00 4m 00s Survival of the Fittest Great little game, sort of lacks content like mine, but this only means that we should keep working :-) The world doesn't end with Ludum Dare. It doesn't, RIGHT?!
Aug 28 19:20:00 5m 00s Super Darwin One of the best games I've played so far! And I've played a lot :-)
Aug 28 19:30:00 10m 00s Vegetal Evolution Neither original nor bug fix worked for me :-(
Aug 28 19:40:00 10m 00s DrumBeat Evolution!!!! This really needs an export option. It would really make a neat tool! Great work.
Aug 28 19:47:00 7m 00s Firefly I second the comment by mdkess. It really looks like something that could develop into an excellent game.
Aug 28 20:06:00 19m 00s Planetary Overseer Really neat concept of indirect control. Love it.
Aug 28 20:10:00 4m 00s B07s Wasn't able to run it, got stuck at "creating level" even though I did as you suggested.
Aug 28 20:22:00 12m 00s Darwin's Turtle Race Challenge I liked the game, although I think that it is either too hard or too random :-) Also, props for the Mac-exclusive version, I've never seen one before :-)
Aug 28 21:19:00 57m 00s Inu No Ongaeshi This is a brilliant piece of writing. I even had to get all of the endings, which never happened to me before :-) You're really good at this and you should continue writing.
Aug 28 21:54:00 35m 00s Feesh. I like it. I also like how polished it looks for a compo game. Does remind me of Osmos AND flOw, but what doesn't these days :-) Keep this project going, mate!
Aug 28 22:32:00 38m 00s ThroughoutTheAges Really like the evolving part :-)
Aug 28 23:59:00 1h 27m RobotCity Error...
Aug 29 00:00:00 1m 00s Bug Hunter Evolved i really like the underlying message :-)
Aug 29 00:03:00 3m 00s Darewin's Missing Link Nothing worked, couldn't run on my Mac :-(
Aug 29 00:10:00 7m 00s Aqualution I like how the atmosphere of this is game reminiscent of Aquaria for obvious reasons, while mechanics have basically nothing to do with it :-)
Aug 29 00:44:00 34m 00s IO VUOLE ZEN This is the most ridiculously obnoxious games I've played in my life. Good job, man. Completed it. 5 stars for everything :-)
Aug 29 14:42:00 13h 58m Bit-Craft Evolution I totally love what people can make with such a simple space shooter. Really fun to play! Well done. You should check out your sister game: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-24/?action=preview&uid=4687 :-)
Aug 29 15:17:00 35m 00s Angry Fish I like the red fish with glowing eyes, really scary shit :D
Aug 29 18:23:00 3h 06m Cubevo Brilliant game, I think I've just had my first math orgasm :-)
Aug 29 18:40:00 17m 00s Deal with It Nice litte platformer, a bit too hard, yeah, and special thanks for the mute button :-) Needs some introductory levels perhaps.
Aug 29 18:46:00 6m 00s The Darkness Evolve!! Pretty neat, but I have one suggestion: move this game to Unity, it will be much easier to complete it there. Really. Otherwise, yeah, keep going :-)
Aug 29 18:50:00 4m 00s My Pairs and Me What a delightful little massacre game :-)
Aug 29 20:49:00 1h 59m Shroom Looks like a solid almost complete game, which is pretty cool for a compo entry (have only played that) :-)
Aug 29 21:14:00 25m 00s EVOLVES! Cool stuff! I totally dig how frantic the whole experience is :-) AI is a bit too hard to keep up with + the game could use a multiplayer mode—that would be the only two suggestions from me :-)
Aug 29 21:19:00 5m 00s Evo Really nice. Also it's funny how your game is everything mine's not. It looks like it could use some polish, but you have plenty of levels with real progression and explore the mechanic pretty deeply, while mine looks more or less polished, but doesn't have enough content in it. Well, that's what you get in 48 hours, I guess. Anyway, nice entry!
Aug 29 21:33:00 14m 00s Sprout That was pretty fun :-) Kind of makes me happy that real world plants dont have these giant teeth and don't grow like that. What a wonderful world we live in, right?
Aug 29 21:41:00 8m 00s Pinball Color I found it rather mind-boggling, in a good way. I was struggling to meaningfully press the right and left flip buttons, but found myself at a loss. I think this experience can be explored. It's sort of a mind/body control yoga or zen thing. Requires a lot of balancing, obviously, but I do like how weird it felt.
Aug 29 22:07:00 26m 00s Tower Evolution Dude, getting an error, man.
Aug 29 22:21:00 14m 00s Darwin's Ark (Web) Man, I'm such a sucker for simulations like this one. I just love indirect control.
Aug 29 23:42:00 1h 21m Chrysalis Choice omg what is going on in this game I don't even—
Aug 29 23:50:00 8m 00s Monkey Trial Turnaround Great! And also very glad to see graphic novellas in LD! Keep it up!
Aug 30 00:30:00 40m 00s Slime Fighter The first fighting game I see here. Very good! Esthetics are nifty too!
Aug 30 00:43:00 13m 00s LimiT Wow, awesome! One of the best ones I've seen so far! Good job!
Aug 30 00:52:00 9m 00s EvolBots (not EvilBots) The camera and controls made me feel dizzy, but in a good way :-) Also, welcome to the community, it doesn't get better than Unity3D ;-)
Aug 30 00:58:00 6m 00s Move forward Wow, that was quick. Guess that is what people feel while playing my game :D Really, looking forward to seeing more of it, and good luck!
Aug 30 01:00:00 2m 00s Tribal Warfare This is the first RTS I'm seeing in this compo, and it's a pretty good one. At first I didn't quite understand the controls, but I got it soon enough :-)
Aug 30 01:57:00 57m 00s Psychiatric Evaluation Perfect! Another awesome IF to add to my collection :-)
Aug 30 02:00:00 3m 00s Hard Life 3X Top Fun and Innovation scores from me! :-)
Aug 30 02:03:00 3m 00s Biods Loading is stuck at 0% and not going anywhere :-(
Aug 30 02:12:00 9m 00s ProtoZoo Hm, controls seem kinda weird, otherwise a nice entry!
Aug 30 02:22:00 10m 00s Space Worm Great game! Although that eating sound made me poo my pants, and I think you might want to make the collider on the head a little bigger, because aiming is quite frankly frustrating right now.
Aug 30 02:29:00 7m 00s Monkeyectomy That's pretty fun, but for the love of god, why so small? I couldn't read the text, I had to squint!
Aug 30 02:32:00 3m 00s Intelligent Designer That is genuinely good and innovative! Good job!
Aug 30 02:34:00 2m 00s Dig, Jesus! Dig! Hahahaha, this game has to be in an art gallery somewhere :D
Aug 30 05:33:00 2h 59m evolution of monsters Okay, dude, okay, I may have not been programming for 27 years, but neither am I a 14-year-old kid. I'm the guy who has wanted to make games his whole life. I actually started developing games while at school. I think I was 12 or something when I made my first game. Does that sound familiar to you? Oh and I hated my parents. Boy, I despised them. I have graduated from a university this year, and I'm going to France to study game design in october, because I think that this is actually good for me, even though when I was your age, I had exactly the same shit in my head. And I do remember it very clearly, and I totally get where this is coming from.

Now, here's the thing: you can't just say that something is good or bad for you until you actually try it yourself. Forget gamasutra, forget shit game developers say. Turn on your brain, you should be able to do this if you want to be a game developer.

Here's how I see it, and you might think that this is all bullshit, but just read it, alright? And think about it. Game development is an insanely complicated business to be in. You have to know all kinds of shit. Your work is never repetitive, you do all sorts of creative stuff. You have to be both artistic and technical if you want to be a good game developer, whatever you do in the business. Yes, it is a dream job. Yes, it is probably the most rewarding job a human being is entitled to get. But guess what, you have to be experienced, you have to know all sorts of shit to do this. You cannot just focus on games. Go ahead and ask someone big, someone like Peter Molyneux (I'm sure you've heard of the dude) or Notch, for that matter, you go ask them where they draw inspiration for their games. Do you think game dev is only about games? It is the most meta media that exists. Anything you do in life you can apply to game development if you're smart enough, and I sure hope you are smart, because if you're not, no amount of practice will ever help you, so you better be or get. My point is, everything you will learn in college is an experience, and without that you can't make shit. It will also probably give you some perspective. True, it doesn't make a hell lot of difference what you get your degree in as long as you keep working on your gamedev after school. And yes, game dev is a full time occupation, so you _will_ have to work after school.

Please, just cut the crap with "give up on my dream." You will have free time in college. You will also learn new shit even if you don't exactly study there, and that will be good for you, trust me. Like I said, I went through this whole routine myself only recently and I know what I'm talking about.

And it's okay to be angry at your parents, just as long as you don't lose perspective and see that they actually give a shit about you. They just fucking do. You will learn that this is actually a very rare commodity in life to have people actually give a shit.

Please, don't reply to me. I'm not going to check this page again in my life. Just think about it. Think carefully. That's all I ask.
Aug 30 12:41:00 7h 08m Gamma Ray Deflector Not bad, actually, although something was wrong with my mouse controls. Can be really fun!
Aug 30 12:50:00 9m 00s Volve Neat :-) Gotta love your evolutions, too.
Aug 30 13:03:00 13m 00s Get Your Cell Together Awesome, I love the "leave me the fuck alone" mechanics :D
Aug 30 13:08:00 5m 00s Collect Very very neat, and minimalistic esthetics are marvelous.
Aug 30 14:31:00 1h 23m Carcinogen Corp. I like it. It's clearly unfinished, but you should totally continue working on it!
Aug 30 17:07:00 2h 36m The Window Neat! I'm a big fan of indirect control games. Needs animations and sound (something akin Journey, pehaps?) and it will be perfect. Also, rocks were pretty ironic :D
Aug 30 17:26:00 19m 00s Moche At first I was like "holy shit" and then everything crashed :D Nifty!
Aug 30 23:40:00 6h 14m God Called in Sick Today My reaction: "hmm, okay, this looks pretty bori...wait, I can move the floor. up and down, up and down. oh I made wind? what do you mean..? whoa, grass appeared...let me see if I can grow a tree here and then just close and rate the fucker...planting trees, planting trees, nyanyanya, OH PISSING BLIMEY AN HOUR HAS PASSED!!!"

Dude, this is brilliant. You win the internets with this game. Cheers. 5/5 for everything.
Aug 31 00:10:00 30m 00s evoxy Really neat, and graphics are beautiful, especially for 48 hours.
Aug 31 00:51:00 41m 00s The Kittelutioning Very nice. I have found that square kittens with 1 limb survive the best. Now let's apply that to real life.

*here, kitty kitty kitty*
Sep 1 02:35:00 25h 44m Shape of Evolution Really neat little game!
Sep 1 02:41:00 6m 00s What if Pandas could Fly? This is a love child of Yeti Sports and Angry Birds and thus belongs on mobile. But it was pretty fun. You just need to polish it properly.
Sep 2 01:33:00 22h 52m Ivan the Infection I liked it! To me it seemed a lot like a horror game of some sort. I was generally scared at some point. Perhaps the sheer numbers of enemies might have something to do with it. Anyway, great job.
Sep 2 01:42:00 9m 00s The Evolution of Time This was really cool. I enjoyed every second of it. Got some really promising ideas there! I also like the way you manipulate localScales to make it seem like your cube is "drinking" the other ones, really nice touch. Good job!
Sep 2 01:45:00 3m 00s Infestation Really fun little Crimsonland :-)
Sep 2 01:47:00 2m 00s Enhanced Man Yup, doesn't load for me :-(
Sep 2 01:54:00 7m 00s Unstealthiest Ninja I like how sokoban-style it is, but it is also super-hard, and perhaps needs some verbal explanation before you throw the player into the pit, because I really stressed out a lot when the timer ran out an I couldn't figure out how the black thingy works. That said, the fact that I did care so much means that the game is engaging, so kudos. Always glad to see puzzle games.
