Your shell script didn't work (Linux Mint), but I was able to java -jar LD24.jar and run your game just fine.
Cute, short, enjoyable. It taught me how to play and ramped up. It was fun! Kudos for having enjoyable audio and humorous imagery.

Nice job for six hours! It really started to click for me after I realized that you could loop back around from the bottom to the top in one move.
The only problem I see is that the game moves so quickly you don't have time to really look at the status photo as you start to evolve.

That's pretty fun, but for the love of god, why so small? I couldn't read the text, I had to squint!
It says "Press enter to continue", but Enter doesn't do anything.
Simple, funny, playable, fun. For six hours of work, this is really great. Actually, it's pretty good anyway. I liked the learning curve. You could actually make something more out of it - maybe an evolution of humans? :P To sum up, it's very playable - I wish it was a little longer, but maybe this length is actually great for a LD game, since everyone can finish it.

Alright! Been really hectic but I can stop for a moment and say thanks for all your feedback :D It's awesome that most everyone seems to like it, it's really exciting.
@Sergey, the size is small as the result of a combination of things. If it was larger my pixel art-ing would have needed to be larger or I would have to fill the screen with fluff. That made me think about historic screen limitations of game platforms and I thought "Whoa, I absolutely loved m GBC, I'll do it in that size". What I should have done was provided a checkbox that could double the size of the window if pressed, but... now I know for the future! :D
@Josh, if you happen to see this, did you absolutely make sure the game had focus? If so, what OS? I've heard that middle mouse clicking in the game will also break input, and I think pressing alt might as well. Had you done either of those? (I'd be trying to break it again myself but I'm about to leave again :( )
Funny theme and graphics. It took me a while to figure out W and S were controls. I like it in games when there is complex letters/numbers on the screen, but the gameplay is super simple. I think it makes me feel really cool when playing :D

Inspirational that you managed to do this in so little time. The small graphics were very nice, the monkeymusic was appropriate and gameplay kept me playing longer than I expected. Very good.
