LD59 — Signal

Ship Happens by Cambryx 2026-04-21T09:58:08Z

Fun! Difficulty ramps up pretty fast after the first bit. I liked the sounds of all the different boats, but I wish I had gotten a bit more time learning about each type before they were all arriving at once.

Signal Weave by alexhonor 2026-04-21T09:52:43Z

I enjoyed this one a lot. Didn't realize I'd been playing for half an hour by the time I finished everything. I wish there was a way to turn the upgrade stars off if you don't need them because its annoying to see the "wrong number" pop up when you are just trying to path through them and already have that number increase.

Distant Assistant by Neon Glass 2026-04-22T05:27:44Z

The link doesn't work.

Distant Assistant by Neon Glass 2026-04-23T08:42:16Z

Tried it now that the link worked and I enjoyed it. I didn't really understand the mechanic until a few levels in, because the early levels were easy enough that you could ignore the match 3 part. Once I understood the mechanic and it started to be challenging I enjoyed it. I liked the cat levels and the electricity grid one at the end took me a while. If I have one complaint its just that the batteries weren't facing the right direction on the right side, which was weirdly annoying since all the other tiles had multiple orientations which led to different effects. I loved the art in the background when you were flying around, and it was cool to have a match 3 game where matching 3 is not what you are trying to do but something you are trying to avoid, as well as the ability to swap diagonally and several swaps in a row.

Space Operator by MtWhateverest 2026-04-24T07:40:39Z

I liked the panning effect with the planets and the game did a good job with atmosphere. Seems like a good skeleton for a bigger game.

Data Routing by StormSword 2026-04-22T10:42:05Z

Really novel and fun little game. I think I got by the lightning section by luck more than anything, but the final lv 11 was a really good test of your execution. Being able to run through the levels as a normal platformer at the end was cute. Is the ??? level in the select after 11 just the normal platforming stage or was that something hidden in some way?

Dungeons & Gatos by Firemanarg 2026-04-22T10:05:38Z

I played a bit of this. The art was cute, and I was having fun exploring, but I couldn't figure out how to activate the buttons. Pressing e made an animation with her hands, but didn't do anything to the buttons. And when I activated the map, I had to press buttons randomly to figure out which one took you back to the main screen. The cat eyes never did anything to me but eventually I walked off the edge and fell forever with out a chance to restart.

M0NK3_CONTROL by Adam Gallina 2026-04-21T02:45:25Z

Got stuck when the red monkeys kept killing my guy. Enjoyable until then.

Shroomice by Lizz 2026-04-21T01:38:43Z

That was cute, and I liked being able to easily go back and forth when looking at characters or making decisions.

Shroomice by Lizz 2026-04-21T02:47:01Z

The art was cute, and the sounds, as well as the premise of the mushroom society.

The Signal of the Universe by Planetary 2026-04-22T09:30:10Z

I liked the controls and the physics, and the gameplay loop feels solid. I'll echo what the other reviewers said as well though, that I think crashing too hard being an instant game over feels a bit rough especially after you have already played a planet or two. Since you have health already for the missiles, it feels like a bad landing harming you instead of killing you would feel less rough. Otherwise a fun game.

Islandia by Derek Glennon 2026-04-21T02:03:42Z

Cute game. Was there anything special to do with the beachball in the back or was that just to toss around? I tried to feed it to the shark but it just went through them.

Notgate by Umaiit 2026-04-21T07:51:51Z

Like the guy above, I also got stuck on lv 14. I also started noticing lag as I played longer, but that could be because I was using my browser and its not optimized for that.

traceroute by wles 2026-04-21T09:02:13Z

tracerouteBug.png When I try to open the game I get this error. Using Firefox.

Tiny victim by zichemerr 2026-04-22T05:44:04Z

The jackelope was cute. I liked the atmosphere of the game. It felt like the hitbox for the monsters ought to have been bigger because it was easy to visually hit them with the arrow, but have it not hurt them.

Sonar Depth by Manutti 2026-04-22T09:18:18Z

Enjoyed the experience. I liked the fact that the echolocation signals for the bags and the fish were close enough to each other that you had to pay attention, and that the health bar seemed right on the edge of failure for most of the game, making you really feel like you needed to constantly get more fish, without the ability to stock up much at all. Nice short experience and the echolocation graphics in particular were quite nice.

Lightkeeper by T Merrill 2026-04-22T05:18:53Z

I liked it. The graphics on the lighthouses were pretty and the fog didn't a nice job of obscuring the incoming boats.

NORTH-5 by rezonanc 2026-04-21T10:33:35Z

I liked this a ton. Just the right length for the complexity of the game. The typing felt superb, the sound feedback from the key presses made you feel like you were using some old machine. Thanks for making this!

Treaty by Nidoprince 2026-04-21T08:57:48Z

@katastudios You can turn down the speed by hitting the s below the clock, but it still might be a bit fast. I was planning to fine tune the timing at the end, but was still working on making the game functional till the very last hour so it is definitely pretty rough.

@TopperVideoGames The black screen was probably a crash, there isn't a traditional game over in the game, just a worse outcome for the people the longer the war lasts. A part that I probably should have explained better is that figuring out what kind of resources the other nations need is a big part of finding the right treaty. Their army will try and capture places that have the resource they are missing, and if you look at the economy of each space, you can kinda figure out which ones they have a lot of and which they are missing and probably trying to acquire with the war.

@Lizz That makes sense. I planned to do more explanation of goals and systems, but ended up working on core gameplay until the literal last minute to get it done in time for the jam.

Treaty by Nidoprince 2026-04-21T21:59:36Z

@jamope @disperse @4farandbeyond I've edited the description of the game to include a few paragraphs of tutorial which should help with the confusion. I should have taken the time to do this yesterday, but was just exhausted from finishing the game. Thanks for the feedback!

Pzants by LemonChicken47 2026-04-21T10:07:46Z

I had fun with the game, though I didn't end up really understanding the pzazz mechanic. The spiders ran at me instead of the other ants, so I could just kite backwards and kill them with the fireballs, without ever needing to command the other ants at all. Maybe I missed something, but I did get the three starter ants back home and killed a lot of spiders.

Send the Signal by Pavel Goncharov 2026-04-22T09:49:27Z

Enjoyable game with a really good scope. I will say that I found the controls a little off instinctually. Because the rocket takes time to rotate my mind kept wanting me to use a and d to rotate and w to move forward, and so I would crash because my mind would do the wrong inputs. Usually rocket games that have the direction inputs like this one don't have the turn time. I will also say that I found the time upgrade to not be very useful because it was usually a matter of either dying or getting all of the asteroids with 15+ seconds remaining, so I would have preferred to have an upgrade that gave you more asteroids, or let you plant more than one bomb at a time. Regardless, I had fun, and congrats on your first jam!

Read My Signal by Shivvvy 2026-04-21T02:28:30Z

Very cute art, a fun gameplay loop. Never really figured out what the sleeping potion was for, but filled 2 pages with paws.

NetHacking by DryDiamond 2026-04-22T10:21:33Z

I liked this one a lot. Good vibe with the graphics and a reasonably unique gameplay mechanic of taking over the thing that you shoot. Only two criticisms I have is that I wish your mouse cursor was visible because I kept accidentally clicking on other parts of the browser, and I wish that the final node in each part was a boss sorta thing with a lot of skulls surrounding it, even after you took over the rest of the system, just so the last shot was actually challenging. It was fun though, and you nailed the theme and the aesthetics.

Signolium and the Hunt for the Mutineers, Part 3 by Noob117 2026-04-22T10:13:54Z

Nice and fun. I liked the shapes of the space sections and the different ships. Combat was fast paced enough to be fun but gave you enough health to not get annihilated. Nice 5-10 minute experience.

Small Among Storms by ShanzPro 2026-04-21T09:22:03Z

Very cute and fun. I didn't quite understand why I died in water sometimes and other times could swim as long as I wanted, but it was a nice quick platformer with really nice sprites and solid gameplay.

Dying Echo by maze-hj 2026-04-22T05:24:31Z

I like the concept of navigating with echolocation. The game was very short, but it was fun for its little bit of time.

Intercept by paracorn 2026-04-21T08:48:52Z

Really nice aesthetic. Nice to have a clicker game you can actually finish in not too long. Loved the scale of the people getting smaller as the tower got bigger.

Rat Signal by Podrez 2026-04-21T01:27:25Z

The mouse was very cute once you could really see them at the end, and I liked the perspective shifts with the cameras.
