This is awesome, love the take on signals. Would love to see more complicated scripting in a bigger version of the game!
Nice game, but a bit hard to get started.
I didn't understand how to play
FYI I think the itch build is out of date, since there's a bunch of godot image placeholders. Either way, good job! Was pretty fun.
Really cool idea! I love the effect of the radar sending waves out periodically to get a reading. It was a little tough at first to figure out how to do things, but I think's it's a great execution of a interesting idea. And definitely well suited for the theme. Kudos!
@kremlebot The first step is to click the 'MSG' button, and then it should give you a tutorial through most of the gameplay - let me know if you want a better guide than that and I'll add some actual objectives/hints to the desciption, it sounds like you're not the only one having issues
@notalobster Thanks for the heads-up, fixing that now
Pretty good Duskers clone.
I found Tony Torial too chatty, with such small windows it'd often push some useful information off screen with flavour text. The dials on the radar and scanner seemed a bit buggy and didn't point where I thought they would.
Had a good time! Turning the dials was a little tricky for me but otherwise the controls were good. Would be cool if there was a moment you had to run from the red drones and quickly close a door behind you or something.
I had a funny playthrough of this game. I spent a bit too long looking for the generator since I didn't fully enter the room it was in, even with the right scan going. Understanding why those doors closed on me took a while even with the document telling me I was supposed to lock them. By sheer coincidence I believe I locked the last enemy in the room with the password, so I had to wait a while to get it to move elsewhere.
I really do like the typing interface of the game, the waiting around and time it took to figure some things out did add a bit more frustration than I thought it would. Tony also talks way too fast, it would be nice to have dialogue proceed on click instead of automatically. I do think the presentation was really well done, and I did understand the controls right away. Just knowing what the game wanted from me was bumpy. Good work!
Love the concept. You got a lot done with this project. Not much to play through for the jam, but great bones for future development. The UI was intuitive and the ability to move and resize the panels felt great. Being able to press up/down on the arrows to quickly re-enter commands was huge. Lots of quality of life inclusions. A little curious as to why you chose a 3D environment when it feels like it was made for 2D unless it was for some feature that ended up being cut. No real critiques other than wishing there was more of it to explore.
@bobap Originally I wanted to have some alternate camera views, definitely wished I'd just gone for a simpler 2D view from the beginning lol. Glad you liked the UI, it was pretty fun to make
I started the game and I couldn't follow the text explaining how to play. I recommend less complexity. Great job!
Interesting take on the theme! The tutorial text felt like it was shown a bit too slowly but didn't end up explaining enough of the game i.m.o, but maybe I just didn't follow it closely enough.
A bit more handholding for what is expected of you, or a special linear tutorial section would've made the start of the game clearer. The graphics looked very nice and the UI felt intuitive and fitting :) (Also having to type [M0NK3 ID] [action] versus [action] [object id] for the actions on objects didn“t click in my head, I kept messing up the order but that might just be me haha)
I seem to got myself stuck right away, I click on the msg button for the tutorial but it just stays at Tony is typing.... and never says anything. I like how you make windows that are draggable and a coding terminal, like an OS to play the game. Awesome to see another Godot game, I love that engine
