and just like that by bburbank 2011-08-23T16:09:00
YES IT IS DISTRACTING WHEN YOU DO THAT.
I'm mostly just annoyed now that I didn't see some of the secret areas, apparently!

Fun stuff! I adore the art style, and the game was pretty amusing.
Loud music with no volume controls makes me sad.
Yup, can't download.
I really like the art style. Yeah, kind of all bummer endings right now though :)
I like it! It was really non-obvious when I was stuck, though - the fact that you have to wait for more channels to open up from #public wasn't clear. I restarted a bunch of times trying to get what I needed from ParadiseBot alone. In the end I peeked at the source, just to see how things ended.
Ideally your "Web" link should go to a playable page, not a ZIP download :(
I like it! The fog is a good twist on the maze (man are there a lot of mazes in this compo) and the sword, checkpoints etc also add a lot to the standard maze formula.
/concur with most folks. Neat, nice graphics, but got bored after a while.
Honestly the extra bomb slots aren't much worth it when the bomb drops in front of you - by the time you maneuver to a good spot for a second bomb (esp w/o diagonal movement) the first one's probably already exploded anyway.
I'm almost immediately stuck - 3 TVs blocking the bottom, 2 TVs blocking the lower path, and the insta-death on the top path. What gives?
I liked it! Man, I thought the controls were relative like Asteroids, not absolute, at first. And the asymmetric ship had me confused which way I was pointing too.
But once I figured that out, I played this quite a bit!
Absolutely love the tones on the menu buttons - I sat there dragging the mouse across them for a while.
The sumo wrestler part was seemingly impossible and incredibly frustrating. They spawn quickly and aiming the fireballs to make a big enough space to escape is too hard.
The atmosphere was great. A little boring tearing down boards after a while, but I found the game satisfying if artsy.
Not a fan of the gameplay/controls. Jumping from a standstill feels incredibly weak, and jumping while moving feels ridiculously overpowered. Great music and I liked the signs/humor/vibe, though.
Fantastic gameplay mechanics, I love it. With some fancier graphics and controls, this would be very releaseable. My favorite game so far!
Nice! Takes a mean jump in difficulty suddenly, but I like it a lot. The CAPTCHA joke is great, too.
Really fantastic presentation!
I agree, the "wait for the blocks to randomly move in a way you can use" mechanic gets old quickly. Having SOME way the user can affect that might help.
Fantastic graphics but the gameplay was incredibly frustrating. The slow turn radius of the ship plus the presence of gravity combine to make it really frustrating, in my opinion.
It also took quite a while for me to even tell exactly when I was colliding with stuff, because it's a weird "soft" collision that just steals some health, instead of the more common hard collision.
This makes every collision guaranteed to hurt a LOT, since you don't bounce off but continue to penetrate the building and hurt your ship more.
Great graphics and I like the puzzle-y nature of it. Yup, I was wanting more but I love what you did.
I had no idea anything was following me at all. After exploring for like 5 minutes and finding a creepy picture, I just got a "you were captured" message. Kind of a bummer way to end after all that work. I didn't really know how to find the exit other than the standard follow-a-wall maze navigation.
Thanks for the kind words everybody. Like nearly everyone, I've myself a little list of ideas for the future... I'll have to see if I can put together an extended version some time.
Not exactly innovative gameplay, but I love the presentation.
This could use a little more of a tutorial - I wasn't really sure what I was doing, but clicking to move my animals seemed to work eventually.
I still hate the missile arenatrons. Damn you, missiles!
