LD38 — A Small World

The Aliens by Nnnnneeeedddd 2017-05-12T10:00:06Z

Works perfect (and with sound) on Archlinux, I like the funky controls and how you've put this together! :)

RETROHACKER 1993 by Flatgub 2017-04-25T10:08:50Z

That boot screen! :D I'm going to give this a shot later again, but for now, I'm stuck! :D

RETROHACKER 1993 by Flatgub 2017-04-25T10:10:54Z

Unfortunately, I'm getting the out of memory error at the hacker bbs screen :( What I've played so far is übercool, I hope there'll be a patch ^_^

Bureaucratic Deity Simulator 2018 by mmason 2017-04-29T08:30:13Z

Must admit I was skeptical about the game play, but the graphics appealed to me. I tried it out, and it's intriguing! Very nice game indeed! The mood is just right, and the gameplay is interesting!

MF100 - HACK THE JAM (old console emulator) by egordorichev 2017-04-27T09:18:31Z

This fits the bill perfectly for https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/bounceball/call-for-technological-oddities

NES ROM - Arlington Apple in an Interplanetary Pickle by team-disposable 2017-04-25T19:52:07Z

Your game is listed here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/bounceball/call-for-technological-oddities I'm impressed with this in more than one way. I've played far worse commercial titles on the NES.. The gravity stuff is novel on that platform I think, and it's a nice use of the theme.

Is fast by qristofer 2017-04-26T18:35:21Z

Alright, I won't judge, or say what's wrong with it. But wanted to let you know that a. the music is chill, and b. I like the visual expression. I'm a sucker for that kind of resolution/definition .

Missing Lands by potatolain 2017-04-25T19:50:31Z

Cool! :D This is mentioned on the https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/bounceball/call-for-technological-oddities I enjoyed playing it!

Globe Trot by Richard Michael Smith 2017-04-25T15:59:52Z

Cool game:) Worked well with my Logitech Rumblepad 2 :) A tiny bit too small on my screen (at native res) :D

Planetoid Piracy by RobotSoulsGames 2017-04-25T08:16:52Z

Sorry dude, hangs on loading screen (becomes unresponsive, displays 1/7) Love the graphics! Your binary is really small, what did you use for making it ?

5 by ThatFrankGuy 2017-05-12T11:02:19Z

Couldn't run it in wine, but looks nice!

3D Vector Space Cab by Fell_TRSi 2017-04-26T08:14:26Z

Mind blown! :D This is awesome!

Sentient Duality by CabbageCrow 2017-04-25T07:57:40Z

That's frustrating and quite fun, I think the controls could use a slight tweaking, takes about 250 ms before it reacts. Nice idea well executed!

Odd Ball by mikeware 2017-04-25T08:02:38Z

Whoa! You made a game about balls, I made a game about balls! I played your game about balls! Nice idea and well executed. One thing I'd like was a bit more feedback when I fail, at one point I started just clicking random letters, didn't feel like I was losing :)

Leafcutters by gimbalock 2017-04-25T09:04:16Z

I like the oldschool look of this and the nice mechanics of cookie-clicker/resource-management games :D Definitely something like catastrophic failure in some events would add to the experience :)

Lunar Limit by Pubby 2017-04-25T09:06:40Z

Super cool! Thanks for doing the writeup as well, fun read! Works nice on FCEUX 2.2.3 My highscore: 650 on first try :D This has been added to https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/bounceball/call-for-technological-oddities ;)

Bounceball by DusteD 2017-04-25T15:53:09Z

@richard-michael-smith haha, awesome! I'm just glad it's not segfaulting at that resolution! :) I usually run highres displays, but I'm not at home, so I have the little tiny laptop :D I knew this would happen, because things are not scaled, but I thought I'd leave it in as a lesson: Life is unfair ;) Better screen = Easier game. But, the speed should keep increasing, eventually making it very difficult :D

Bounceball by DusteD 2017-04-29T08:34:16Z

I think I'm going to make a polished version of this game at some point, when I do, the balls will be scaled according to difficulty, not screen-resolution, so, on easy, balls will fill up relatively as much on a 4k and a 720p. One thing I'm going to need to figure out is how to handle different aspects, I'd rather that the game plays the same for all players, so there's a basis for comparison :)

Bounceball by DusteD 2017-04-30T14:04:45Z

Yeah okay, I just played it on a 2560x1600 px display, not so fun.. :(

_Save_ by iamteekay 2017-05-12T11:19:26Z

Aww, I really wanted to play this! Looks hella cool! But does not run in wine (something about cabinet extraction failed)
