LD43 — Sacrifices must be made (16)

H E R D by King Kujito 2018-12-07T08:03:24Z ♥ 1

Hey really fun game. I got one sheepy to the end and the wolf is now happy and fat. I think the level it a bit too long but I see why you did it for the jam. Graphics are cool! Keep up the good work.

Interesting game but I found the amount of things on the screen at first to be really overwhelming. I did keep playing (against myself) to see how it played out - I think the core idea is good but it needs refining and a gradual increase in complexity. Given the time, I think you did a good job. The music was wicked!

Dungeon of Friendship by captainweeaboo 2018-12-07T07:49:40Z ♥ 2

Atmosphere and music are cool. I found the lack of abilities as the game goes by to be interesting. I think you've got the beginnings of something fun here.

Downfall by Dorukh 2018-12-07T07:44:02Z ♥ 3

Nice game! The gameplay was fun and interesting - but also really accessible and easy. Sound track was fantastic. The main menu looks cool too. Good game! Keep it up.

Zompantli by zener 2018-12-07T07:40:14Z ♥ 1

Hey this was really fun! The sound effects were cool and the constant threat and base management was a good balance. I think you did a really good job. One main thing I'd change is the hit box of the people in your base... I found I mis-clicked a lot :( Got to level 8.

Everest by Snow Punch Studios 2018-12-07T07:33:22Z ♥ 2

Really liked the music. Nice footsteps too. It was hard move around a bit but given the time limits it's understandable. A quick fix would be to make the movement a bit faster :)

I like the comic speech bubbles and how they appear. The story was easy to follow and had an appropriate ending. Good job given the time restrictions!

Total Party Kill by adventureislands 2018-12-04T20:56:31Z ♥ 1

Hey! Awesome game mate. Really enjoyed playing it. Here's my feedback... * Music and sound effects were great * Art style was awesome * Levels were tight and well made * Progression was good... I felt challenged but had the feeling of "I figured that out" when I worked out each level * All the mechanics were used creatively * Would play again and recommend to others

Now you need to add more levels (if you feel like it) and put it out to the masses :P

Battling Madness by Sykoo 2018-12-04T19:18:03Z ♥ 1

This one made me smile. I like how you interpreted the theme but the game play didn't seem to match the story - but not sure how I'd do it either 🆙 Movement felt fluid and quick and the upgrades/downgrades were interesting. One time I only had three "reverse movement, +hp" upgrades. All in all a good game!

Bunny Whallop by rk3Omega 2018-12-04T07:18:48Z ♥ 1

Super challenging. Took me a while to figure out that wall jumping around the saws was possible with holding the arrow keys TOWARDS the wall. Movement felt fluid and responsive. The bunny looks cool. I felt no remorse while slaughtering those other bunnies lol :P

Catrifices by MrPiedPiper 2018-12-04T07:12:50Z ♥ 1

I did the same thing. I thought the portals were drop off points for cats.

In general, I think this is a good game and a solid idea. I played until I saved a few cats and was being chased by 10+ monsters. Here is my feedback: * horizontal movement is a bit too slow compared to vertical movement (maybe speed it all up too) * picking up the cats might benefit from a progress bar to let you know how much longer to stand still * music is really good * art is good too... I liked the monsters and the sad cats * drop off point was not obvious... maybe start the player next to it or have the camera focus on it first (use a cinemachine in unity and blend between two virtual cameras)

All in all I think you did a good job! You should be proud of what you made :)

One Life One Tear by Jungle 2018-12-04T06:48:50Z ♥ 3

Really cool game. It gave me the "just one more day" feeling - a good thing for a game to have. The soundscape really drew me in. Graphics looked awesome. Game was paced well with escalating sacrifices... but if felt natural for the scene you've created. Had a fun time playing it.

I was upset when the guy who was going to donate a new bed died while being treated :)

Nice work on this one. You managed to get the "tense" atmosphere right and the game feels good. I liked the music too :)

There Will Come Soft Rains by kamekai 2018-12-04T00:55:47Z ♥ 0

Really cool idea :) I enjoyed the music and background rain. Reading through all the choices was fun.

One thing to note is that in my first play through I died after my first choice :(

Upwell by Raogs 2018-12-03T19:22:34Z ♥ 1

I like downwell so I can see where you are going with this one :)

Here is some feedback: * Took me a while to figure out that pressing down would make me move upwards * Some of the platforms are really small and with the super fast moving enemies I couldn't make it past the 4th platform (after many attempts) * I like the upgrades you've added but think 5 might be a tad to many - I was overwhelmed when I started the game * I think slowing down the movement (player jump, enemy movement) would make it more fun

Good work in getting the game done in time!!

This was really fun. I enjoyed it :)

The Necropolis by Tristan 2011-12-20T04:36:00

Nice game. Good game mechanics. I think with the blood trails, darker darkness, better music and maybe only seeing the outline and eyes of monsters you would create a very nice atmosphere. And maybe instead of heart beat, you could have monster sounds that get louder the closer they are to you.

Knowing the monsters are out there and not being able to see them is cool.

Lonely God Dude by alfredofreak 2011-12-20T04:26:00

A nice concept but I found it hard to know which dudes were going to die. I know you make them darker but a health bar would have been easier for the player.

Divided by TeamInk 2011-12-20T04:25:00

I really liked the graphics style. The music was good. I like the concept. With more refined levels you'd have a solid game on your hands!

Keep up the great work.
