The smaller incremental upgrades that come quite quick is very satisfying. It was also great to have enemy variation instead of just overwhelming identical enemies!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD51 → The Void

Dang, the pace really picks up! I only got to wave 9. I went for the damage / cool down upgrades only to see if I could power through. I got swarmed by some of the fast little guys! I enjoyed how fast paced it was!
Wow! This is addicting, cute graphics and an impressive take on this genre, especially for an LD!! Scary boss, until I beat it B)
The graphics is really impressive for compo game, a mixing with survivor's like and top down shooter worked very well with this theme. There is no sound on the embed version it's a shame, and the animation is really limited. For gameplay there is no collision between rock and ennemy (i'tried to hide behind them but ennemy just pass throught !). Very good job, just ameliorate the points, you have a good game !
@robowarrior1982 I didn't have time to work on sound at all, unfortunately.so you didn't miss anything there. thank you!
Really cool, i survived to the 11th wave, i would recommend adding some extra juice, basic particle effects and simple sfx would do the trick, if you can't do audio like me, i recommend BFXR to generate some simple sound effects. Would be nice to have some kind of cooldown slider for attack and dash, also would be really cool to see diffrent enemy attack patterns, nothing fancy but a simple shooting guy would make the gameplay less repetetive and overall more fun
But in general i enjoyed your game, nice one
Too bad that you didn't sound it at all. just a little explosion / fire would have set the mood even greater. You made up for it by making great graphics. i espescially like the option menu with just three clear objects to select from which casted shadows. Well done.
I like how there's different build paths you can go! I maxed the @ of projectiles and I was shooting 10 peanuts at a time :D. Btw, it'd be cool if you made the game go on forever instead of ending at a final boss. I was looking forward to fighting 2 at the same time
Pretty impressive for compo submission. Great job. I like the use of theme granting upgrades.
Nice graphics and gameplay! For the most part it works perfectly, only sometimes you seem to get stuck around corners. Also is it intentional that the spirits can pass through the rocks? A little bit of sound would have also helped to further improve the feeling and athmosphere of the game. Nonetheless, great compo entry!
Record: 9 waves. I do miss sounds though. Liked the extra regural powerups! Great entry, good job!
little sound would have helped to make hits feel more satisfying. Upgrade screen felt little jarring as it stopped movement before anything appeared.
Choosing which upgrades I wanted was pretty fun. I enjoyed a build I had where I got as many projectiles as possible, but that didn't work too well on the boss haha. Next time, please allow the player to hold down the mouse button instead of spamming it. There's no downside to pressing attack as fast as you can, so by making players spam it, you're just making your game less accessible to people with carpal tunnel or other motor issues. Overall, pretty fun top down shooter.
Cool stuff! I managed to complete the game and it was fun! I enjoyed feeling overpowered. It would really benefit from audio and I also think it could have been more balanced. That being said, it was 48 hours, great job!
I like this kind of rpg-ish mechanics in games. Game was fun and looked decent. Managed to get to the end!
As others have mentioned, a bit of sound could do wonders for your game. Try beepbox.co , you can use it to make something usable very fast, or at least "prototype" your music and then transcript it o milkytracker/LMMS/etc since it's so easy to use.
I remembered that [I actually "prototyped" the music track for my game on beepbox.](https://www.beepbox.co/#9n31s0k0l00e03t10a7g0fj07r1i0o432T1v1u97f0q0z10t231d4aA9F3B6Q5428Paa74E3ba63975T1v0u60f0q0x10h51d19AbF8B7Q0471Peb9aE2b676T1v1uf1f1102q0z10v321d07A1F0B0Q1845Pe354E4bj61362463aT3v1uf9f0qwx10l511d08SW86bmhkrrzrkrrrE1b6b4h400000000h4g000000014h000000004h400000000p21hFE-ll97h9kAt17ihRCm0FE-173Ath724s2hR4txBwaqfEpthBM9BRkRig2FB2BGqqqqqqqqqqqqqkQp00)
I like it, it's like Spirited Away Survivors or something. Congrats on getting all this done during the Compo!
good looking game. really impressive look for short amount of time. i'd like to see more accurate control and recoil.
very fun and the right difficulty for a jam game to not need to much tries to finish it. but and endless mode in which you could upgrade to crazy amounts would be cool!
My top is 10 waves. I feel I might do better though  It is pretty easy until yo get to a point where you get cornered by enemies. Then you mostly have no chances of survival. It would be nice to have a way to escape that situation.
The controls feel somewhat lagging sometimes. I don't know if it is due to the HTML version or anything else.
I loved the upgrades, they are working well with this kind of gameplay.
Nice entry!
I managed to escape! :D Addicting game. Upgrades feel powerful which makes the game a lot of fun.
clicky clicky clicky. And i win. nicecool ending.png
I like it! I had a bad habit of clicking off the game during gameplay though!
