Interesting multiplayer game. Initially I wanted to collect the balls, but having the least is a good twist
Nice submission!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD51 → Dodge48

Nice submission!
Nice twist on the game rules / theme, well done!
Felt like really nice game if I just had more people to play with :D Good work for 4 hours!
@daandruff wanted to add bots, but preferred to add the menu, some bleeps and fix some bugs.
That said, I might do that later. Don't hold your breath though, as I almost never enhanced a game post-LD :sob:
I like all the bleeps (as you put it). I don't really understand the gameplay but the menu is pretty slick
Great party game! Did not have a friend to playtest it together :(
Looks really cool, wish I had someone to play test it with!
@jackaljk @lustdante @daandruff looks like a perfect excuse to meet your neightbors
@thesnide w-what?! And have actual social interactions?? Preposterous!
@jackaljk I'd rather isolate my two brain-halves from each other and let them play. Social interaction isn't my forte ;D
@daandruff fun fact that could be actually done in practice with a split brain surgery!
Hi there!
Quite a trick to play the game alone (and tbh the keyboard mapping might be better & somehow pointed out), but I would like to give additional bonus point for Pico8  It's always a pleasure to see how people crafting such small things in it!
Well done, mate!
I like the concept but without another player available it is a bit hard to get the full effect I think. Love the look. I need to check out Pico8
This is a really interesting idea, I love it! It could use some chiptune background music I think, apart from that the execution is flawless
@joe-bevis yes. But everything I tried ruined it. So I left it out.
That said, it shows what skills I need to improve now 😃
Nice idea for multiplayer game! too bad I have no other players to try this on.
@bloodbane looks like a good common feedback. next time I'll try to provide some bots
I like the gravity mechanic. It can be used to boost your shot in unpredictable ways but might also attract enemy shots, which is a really cool trade off. The visuals and sound effects get their job done but some music would be nice.
That's all I could gather from playing it on my own, I can imagine how fun it would be to play with someone else tho
I played against myself, and I must say, one of me is better than the other...! I love pico8 games, and doing multiplayer is a fantastic idea - although I couldn't find an opponent at home.
@jmad indeed. the only thing i miss in pico8 is online multiplayer.
it could be done easily as all the consoles could work in lockstep, rewinding on network errors.
i really love Pico 8 games, but i can't understand what to do in this one. You need some kind of tutorial)))
@sublustris yeah. usually i add some explanation text. But forgot and then, too late. Wondering if it would be allowed to update it. I guess yes.
aww many it's Pico8!!! I love the cute gameplay and the familiar sound effects of pico8. the game is simple yet really fun (and chaotic if you play with 4 players lol). making the game multiplayer is an interesting choice, I don't think many players would have someone to play with so I wish there was some simple bot system in there for the lonelies of us . also really like the attraction mechanic, makes me think that the game's code is more complex than it seems
great work!
The decision to make the player with the least number of balls get the points is brilliant! It incentivizes absolute chaos, which is exactly what you want in this kind of local multiplayer game. Unfortunately I had no one to play with but I can definitely see how this would be a ton of fun with a friend. Nice work!
> makes me think that the game’s code is more complex than it seems
@0x-void-x0 Well, not really. If you look at the code, it is super readable.
@firebelley yes. I played it with my young sons... and the "alarm" gets them super frantically trying to throw all their balls at me
Wait what you did that in 4 hours only?? That is really great in that case!
Would have love a bot feature however.... But I'm pretty sure you had to cut a lot of thing to make it fit into that time span. good job!
Really unique take on dodgeball! I really like the ability to slingshot the balls around using the dash key. Seems like it could have a really high skill ceiling once two players really get competitive into it.
Cool litte Pico game. A bit tricky to get into at first, but it's a nice take on the idea and the theme.
Very interesting concept, well done! I think it is a bit hard to play on your own,you really need someone to play againts :-) I'll play it later with my girlfriend to see if the dynamic changes. Very well put togeter. Especially because you made this in 4 hours (or at least, that is how I interpreted that)
Fellow PICO-8er here!
Unfortunately I couldn't get another player to play this with me, but I like what you did, from what I was able to try! The UI is really clever too - I like how you use the light and dark colors to show balls in the air vs. balls available to throw.
@wouter52 yes it was 4h (4x1h) on laptop spread during the 48h window.
Which is a little cheating, as creating a game isn't only coding. Doing it that way learned me the power of going slower and avoid frantically trying things until it works. You can actually do a lot of trial and errors in your imagination, and with some practice I am much better than otherwise.
Good idea, I'll have to write something about it. In 4x1h ?
@thehansinator aha you noticed :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
A cool multiplayer game by you guys. I love that it's simple and fun with the great retro graphic design. I also make a multiplayer game that heavily focus on co-op/ player interaction. But these kinds of game have a problem that players need friends or other player to actually play and enjoy the game. It's something I learnt from this Game jam experience :) Next time I will try to avoid that by maybe design a game where solo player can enjoy as well. Good job to you guys!
Love the vibes that PICO-8 games have, and the rules seem really fun, wish I had friends to play this with :((
Unfortunately couldn't play with someone else, but this seems very fun! I love the mechanics and the simple graphics are pretty cool in my opinion! Good job!
I may try, but my style of reviewing means taking down notes and thinking a lot alone in concentration (nerdy me *could* play with other people, contrary to some of you Dark Side Nerds up here ;))), and I am currently prioritising games low on votes. I may come back later, quite possibly after the voting ends, but I find your comment on thinking a lot and only typing less through short sessions very relevant; there is indeed an important *relaxation* effect when you stop going crazy against a problem/bug and let your brain process some underlying solving. How many times did I solve (hour-?)long bugs in a matter of minutes or seconds when I merely came back to it fresh! X) Some congratulations here for your short time performance.

In the same spirit, since I have started dabbling in Game Boy development currently since a few weeks ago, I was thinking it might be a good idea to submit a Game Boy game to some future edition (maybe some people already did?). :) Game Boy ROMs can even work as a navigator version!
I also wonder if there are some TIC-80 games here in Ludum Dare 51.
PS: just found that some hours later by sheer coincidence (noticing the thumbnail) that yes, there is at least one Game Boy ROM! :D * https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/51/its-a-sliding-puzzle
