Really love the idea and innovation. The game is simple to learn, and quite challenging. Level 4 really screwed me. Awesome work!

spacemyname 2020-10-05 03:11

Great game!

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-05 10:25

Overall I very like the idea and mechanics. I like the gameplay. It is even addictive for some degree, but I'd stuck at 4th level and it is very difficult. Feels like it can be passed only by cheer luck. So, I dropped the game on this level.

mg-beatz 2020-10-05 12:18

i enjoyed it very much , nice game

liam-twose 2020-10-05 23:01

Really neat mechanic! Finnicky at first but does make you feel great when you nail it (ocassionally!) =D

Great work!

apbakeware 2020-10-06 04:05

Unique take on the theme and a great game play. It took me a few tries to get the hang of the mechanics, but once I got the hang of it it was really fun. I like the fact that even with the same levels, each play is different based on your timing and control.

gabriel-dias-oliveira-de-almeida 2020-10-06 04:14

Really different game, but in fact I had fun playing... The level design is really different and I loved that you made a tutorial... I hate when games doesn't explain things...

fonics 2020-10-06 04:14

Solid mechanic! One small thing that I feel would make a big difference to the consistency would be a small arrow showing the direction the ball is moving so you can react faster. Really good game overall!

kromeboy 2020-10-06 06:49

Good mechanic, kind of hard to master. quitted on level 4

elizir 2020-10-06 06:54

Nice game! really like it.. got intense very fast - once you know what to do it's really fun  Overall pretty good!

nohac 2020-10-06 20:35

Like the concept. It took me some time to understand the movement logic, but after that it was pretty straight forward. I think the game difficulty ramped up to fast and I still don't understand why/when the ring flips, that was pretty annoying. But overall a fun little game.

rhoff95 2020-10-06 22:55

Cool game! realizing that I needed to bounce and go the other way on level 2 was a great moment. I think this is a great core game that you could build on. I did not like the insta-kill blocks, and feel like there must be some more "puzzley" way of adding difficulty to this.

eugenik 2020-10-07 05:12

Short version of the feedback: 5 of 5!

marcmagus 2020-10-07 14:12

Highly innovative mechanic. Took a lot of work to start getting the hang of really controlling it, and it still ends up being inherently extremely unforgiving. The quick respawns and fairly short levels help with that.

That earlyish level with the very long kill corridor is I think harder than the designer, already having good control, thought it was.

shelvid 2020-10-07 22:20

Very interesting game mechanic and very great difficulty, loved the suffering 10/10

binaryprinciple 2020-10-07 22:45

I really like it, perhaps it was me but could not understand clearly the direction of the ball, i.e. I though that if it was up, I could go up, but no. I made it bounce by brute force.

lectvs 2020-10-08 06:32

Fun little game! I felt like the game was a little fast for the movement input and decisions required, but I had fun with it!

duke 2020-10-08 20:03

Really cool concept. The earlier levels were kinda satisfying to play due to the novelty factor of the game play loop bu the later ones got really frustrating. The game is very fast and one false click will kill you immediately, forcing you to restart. There are a lot of factors that you have to take into account when dealing with large patches of the orange stuff and I didn't find a good way to deal with it until I had enough. The art is basic but works well! The same applies to the sound effects. Pretty bog standard retro video game sfx. Some music to round things up would've been nice :) All in all a cool but difficult game.

ansoneh 2020-10-09 20:30

That's super clever! I love difficult, level-based games like this. Great work.

garywiss 2020-10-09 20:34

Very good concept I love it ! The level are well designed around this mechanic. Great work !

oddmes 2020-10-09 20:44

Really good one! Combined reaction skills and dimentional thinking give the most of the fun! Overall 4.5 out of 5. (I'd like to have more game mechanics and better audio, but it is still really good)

kaiomoi 2020-10-09 20:51

realy cool :)

Concept is very cleaver. A bit difficulte.

Good Job :)

smiley405 2020-10-09 20:58

took me a while to figure it out( the gameplay mechanics ) but after that, super fun. good game.

guimoliveira 2020-10-09 21:11

Very cool, I liked it. The mechanic is a bit hard to understand but unique. Good job! :)

wendel-scardua 2020-10-09 21:20

An innovative take on the theme, but I didn't get what causes the change of the circle (this circle change kept killing me in one of the levels)

mkraw 2020-10-09 21:54

cool concept, the sfx are perfect

Thank you all so much for playing my game! I really appreciate it!

If I haven't played, rated and commented on your game yet, I will. I'm slowly working through them haha

Just fyi, the circle flips when the ball is going straight and bounces on a wall. The flip is based on the direction of the bounce. It might not have been a good idea, though.

@fonics, yes, that would probably work really well!

@rhoff95 yeah, I tried thinking of this game more as a puzzle, but didn't get far. I'll continue working on it and I'll try to do more of that. Thanks!

@marcmagus it took me a lot of tries to do the round on the gif below haha

@lectvs I agree, slowing it down and working more on level design would benefit the gameplay

@duke I gotta find a balance between difficulty and level design. I'm still not very experienced in that kind of stuff.

@Oddmes Tried thinking of more interesting mechanics to put in the game. Maybe a wall that breaks if u bounce once or other stuff like that. Used a lot of the jam time on the movement and trying to get collisions right haha

Took me an embarrassing amount of tries to make the gif below haha.

This is really great. I agree with what everybody has said about how innovative it is -- a definite 5/5 from me.

I came here because I saw your GIF, and I thought: "Wow, that looks so cool!". I didn't factor in the fact that it would be so hard to click at the right time, and my attempts were much more embarrassing. I think you should definitely develop this idea further.

There were only two things I could think of that might improve the game, although both would have made me feel much worse about myself: 1) A time-based score system; 2) A click-based score system.

It's already a lot of fun, but if there were some target times/clicks to beat I could see people spending hours in pursuit of a perfect run. Great job!

joh 2020-10-10 05:05

There's that innovation! Lots of great game this jam, but a lot have... straightforward interpretation/implementation. This is On point on theme and yet, fairly unique (at least so far for me, and lets be real, just "impressing" with your take was a full victory for you.) It wasn't a "this works", it was a "this is IT", so yeah good job.

Game was fun, challenging and as I've iterated, just a great take. might have been missing a counter to expose how terrible we are or timer, to trigger to competitive spirit, but what you had there was more than enough (not that many levels though, but the challenge made it appropriate.)

Got a winner on your hands, good going!

Heyo, I played your game on stream! Here's the vod if you wanna rewatch; https://www.twitch.tv/videos/765804766

Thanks for submitting your game!

This is fantastic! And I'm thrilled to say it's not just fun to watch but also to play. It's great witnessing how smoothly things go when they go smoothly--though also it's incredibly rewarding to get lightning reflexes to save a run on the brink of destruction. Just...really good job. There might be improvements to make with some subtle sound design softening (it's not at all grating, but could add a little sparkle) but overall I love this. Though no, I haven't made it to the end *yet*.
