Oh neat! I love all the PhilStrahl References. Always gets me. The audio seemed a bit loud for me, not sure if that's just me. I beat this one. It took me a couple strategic methods, but i found what worked best for me to get phil the coffee he desired. I was surprised how similar the get/fetch idea was to the one I did. Cool!

@commanderstitch Thanks for the kind words.. :) Did you die at any point? I made 3 different way you can die.. I tried to get all the audio to be the same volume, any specific sample that was louder than the others?
@INCD021#2149 i did die in your game. I left the door open. I'm assuming the other ways to die is to run out of coffee and um unicorn dies?

@commanderstitch Yes, no more coffee is one.. Boring one ;) Again time ran out and I didn't get to do more on that one. :/ Second, yes the unicorn dies.. BTW, thanks for playing.

Really nice game. I liked that art style. My unicorn really likes hay. ;)

Nice description! What I enjoyed most about the game was the animation when coffee was produced, it was quite satisfying. I also joined the club of "people who left the gates open" myself.
The animation for dropping an object on the ground was much meatier than I expected - it caught me by surprise and made me laugh. Though, it's hard to hold onto things (I'd rather have tap to pick up and tap to drop instead of hold to carry) so it can get quite distracting.
I'd suggest having more walking animation (or at least have the Phil face in a direction maybe) if you had time! Nice work.

@majk-fl Thanks :) What the unicorn wants is what the unicorn wants! It's chosen 100% randomly, so you just got unlucky. Water is by far the easiest to get!

@sayumeki Thanks for the feedback  . The walking animation is in there, just not implemented (ran out of time). Didn't even think about the other way of doing the pickup and drop of items, I just thought you are holding things, so you are holding things (spacebar). But I agree with you that, it would be better just toggeling. More than one sound is the mockup sound made, early.. There are as always room for improvment. Thanks again for playing and the details feedback.

Nice game! I like the fiddlyness of everything, I like the sounds, I like the endings. The description tricked me: it is Phil who needs coffee to survive, the unicorn seems pretty immortal to me!
Nice! I found three ways to end the game, so I claim my bonus point :)

@hanamigi Oh, the Unicorn **can** die.. ;) Thanks for the feedback and for playing

2020-04-20 16:35
@frank-gevaerts hmm.. There are 3 ways to die and one to win.. Soo, can't give you the bonus points unless it's the 3 ways of loosing. ;) Ok, half a point then. Thanks for playing.
The audio effects were hilarious!

@theconfusedcyborg Thanks.. Did try. Still, would like to have added a lot more. Thanks for playing. :D
@incd021 You're right, I hadn't actually won yet :) Somehow I assumed it was an endless game... I tried again, and I now found four ways to end, three of them bad

@frank-gevaerts Here's you bonus 💰 :D
Thanks :) I will spend it wisely!
Hey, that was fun! The idea is just hilarious :D PixelPhill is pretty well done, also the unicorn :) I like also those little details like camera shake when you put down object, etc... cool game!

@jiri-hysek Thank you for the very kind words. And thanks for playing. Can't wait for Phil to play it. 🦄

hahaha is funny game , i like this!! is very cute!!
Funny one! Unicorn escaping really suprised me. I liked the Phil reference  Seen two endings. Making coffee was... hm. Suprising as well, I think. Your German sounds good. I like that that you made your own voice sounds.

@nekoruma Glad you liked it:slight_smile: Thanks for playing

@sandra-jasionowska Thanks for the kind words  Seems like the there are one ending, bad one, that people just don't find. Kind of interesting why not. Hmm. Thanks for playing and rating
Any game involving unicorns is a great game in my book ^^ Did not expect the unicorn to escape... or to get turned into coffee =D

@gaminghamster Thanks for playing and rating  The game is based on Phil Strahl aka. [PixelProphecy](https://ldjam.com/users/philstrahl) if you don't know him, he like coffee very much.
I really thought I could just leave the gate open, but nope.
It's a cool simon says spinoff, for sure, and funnily random. I think I would improve the graphics and add animations to give it further charm. I was a bit confused at what a flower was, since it was the size of the character, haha
Amusing and very realistic Unicorn raising simulator

@ironygames Yep, flowers are huge.. There are a lot of possible updates, to after judging period. Thanks for the feedback and rating

@alex-mulkerrin realistic.. Hmm. What do you know of :unicorn: ? Would like to know too. Glad you liked it, and thanks for playing.

I turned myself into coffee! Like the humor and graphics.
It would be perfect if you would add some animations for main character and some music. It's a bit boring after few minutes without it.
incd021
2020-04-21 15:24
@terrykk I know.. :/ The graphics for the walking animation is in there, just not implemented (ran out of time). I'm not sure you would want to listen to music composed by me 😱 Thanks for the feedback

Fun little simulation, strengthening my disdain for unicorns :)
I read your bio and was glad to see that I at 43 I am not the oldest person who loves the creative fun of Ludum Dare. We represent the C64 generation. Kids these days will never understand. Cheers!
@pvg Bah, the C64 is rubbish! Spectrum forever! ;)

@frank-gevaerts Why isn't there a down-vote button, when you need it!

@pvg Thanks for playing, and for pointing out how effing old I've become. :older_man: C64 still holds a special place in my heart, but guess that's just because it was my first real computer. Loved that you could actually hold the entiere memory layout in your head, and the control of assembler language. Now that you doesn't like :unicorn:, are there any other fable animal you like? Chimeras?

@incd021 I've always been a dragon guy myself. Nice thing about dragons is they eat what they want, no need to tend them. Trouble is, they eat your stuff indiscriminately. Hm, maybe a good theme for the October Jam...

@pvg I understand completely. :rofl:

I love learning by doing! It's the best way to make tutorials.
The game is hilarious! Somehow it feels polished even without the basic walking animation. What's your secret? :D
In the ending I waited for dots to overflow the screen, but it didn't happen. :(

@yngvarr all spawhers was limited to 15 items. And don't find Unitys DOT to be in a state where I want to put time into learning it. When they are 100% settled on what way of doing everything, I'll be on in. I have no secret, 100% panic for 48 hours. Did follow the 4 rules I stated on the Pixel Prophecy Discord server.
- No idea is stupid, weird or to dumb. Allow yourself to create something completely nuts. - DON’T optimize anything, or implement everything according to design patterns. Make unoptimized spaghetti code.. Just make it work! - Try WORK BACKWARDS! As suggested by Christer McFunkypants Kaitila in the tweet. "Photoshop a beautiful mockup (the screenshot you wish it was) for the 1st several hours" - Art doesn’t have to make sense! Look at a C64 game like Monty on the run, where you are met with enemies like floating smiling heads, teapots, heads with feet and huge noses, angry ghosts, flying mugs, clocks with wings, the list goes on. Thanks for playing
Incredible Game
I love the Soundeffects and the ways to die. Had a lot of fun playing it and it was an awesome experience.

@deathstorm Thanks for playing it, and on a live stream nonetheless  It was fun to watch how you approached the game, and that you, as the first player, found the missing colliders around the island. Also you really waited just to see the last way to die! I myself wouldn't have had the patience. Thanks for the kind words
@incd021 You promised three ways to die, and I had to see all of them.
My "Completionist" trigger triggered and so yes, I waiteded. Thanks for joining in the stream. :)
I tried making coffee and got yelled at in German. Haha. Marvelous work, I love the idea, and the art for the unicorn is adorable.

@blobo Thanks for playing and rating  The german yelling is an internal joke for Phil Strahl, when he gets to play it.

This was a bizarre experience. Total jokes. I should have read the description because I thought the coffee bean was poop the first couple times... Coffee level might last a bit too long I wasn't feeling stressed enough!

I really liked the audio instructions and the written text instructions. Other then that good show.

@kuiefs I know, I changed the coffee decrease for debugging, and forgot to undo the change. It is, to easy. But that's ok, as long as you enjoyed the short experience of making coffee from the pooping unicorn. "bizarre experience", yes! I would call it success 🤪 Thanks for playing

@hoyr Thanks for playing  Tried to make it as in-you-face, what needs to be done. Sounds like it worked.

lol what a game  I found all the endings! I also tried many different ways to kill the unicorn :smiling_imp: Well done!

@frenchie thanks for playing , glad you liked it. I had plans for a lot more ways to "by accident" kill the unicorn, but I simply ran out of time. :/
You already saw me playing your game but finally I played it again to see all the other endings. Again, I feel so honored to see myself in a game and the unicorn pooping coffee beans remains as adorable as the first time! And no, I don't think it's funny to blow up unicorns! 😥 At least I didn't fall asleep... FOREVER! Here's my stream from last week featuring the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUmP-nl1pVw
@incd021 - first, an apology.. somehow I missed playing your LD46 game back in April, and didn't have a chance to see Phil stream it either. It didn't look familiar when I was browsing to your LD47 game, so I dropped in to play.. it was a great time, I had some good laughs! I loved the Pixel Prophecy references/char.. voice acting, sound effects, mechanics.. etc.. screen shake was awesome putting items down. Great job on the game, and I'm sorry I missed the experience and voting 6 months ago.. but glad I got to play now =)

@redhermit Thanks for playing :) I would have liked to make so many changes to it. But this was seriously one of the times where I couldn't get an idea on what to do. But glad you liked it and had a bit of fun :) Thanks for the kind words, and for all the work you do for the unicorn community
