For such a short and simple game, it was far more enjoyable than I would've guessed. Especially loved the soundeffects! (although one small thing i would change: Bridge collission so you can bump them to save more cars)

fussenkuh 2018-12-03 04:29

LOLed at "I'm a cop, you idiot!" Sorry, officer, I was saving a fire engine. Nice interpretation of the theme along with some enjoyable low-poly graphics and sounds. I'd like to think that, if I just let enough cars drive into the river, I'd have that 3rd bridge that I'm lacking. Great job!

slizzben 2018-12-03 09:27

Fun game with fun sounds, very cool!

nik2434 2018-12-03 18:01

This is a cool idea. And you’re Graphics are really perfect. I also liked the sound. Cool Game.

mrnyarlathotep 2018-12-03 18:04

Simple concept, but really well executed, and you seem to be harsher on yourself in your description about your graphics than I'm going to be - everything was clear what it was supposed to be, and the whole game scene was readable, which is all anyone can hope for in a compo entry. The audio lifted the overall presentation up as well, and was funny and memorable, but without being too repetitious and getting too annoying too quickly.

really good compo entry.

erendelous 2018-12-03 18:07

Nice game! Pretty creative core mechanic:)

john-gabriel 2018-12-03 18:13

Nice visuals, neat concept, good execution, excellent use of mouthsounds.

dougdevs 2018-12-03 19:06

Had to fetch my mouse for this one. I liked the sound effects and the game itself was not too shabby! I'm imagining you dropping something into the toilet with the microphone nearby. "Officer down!" Got a good chuckle out of that one. You should be proud!

nick-rafalski 2018-12-03 20:25

@codekim Thanks for the feedback! I agree the bridge collision could be improved a lot. Glad you had fun!

@nik2434, @john-gabriel, @slizzben Thanks so much for the compliments!

@mrnyarlathotep Thank you so much for the encouragement, especially on the graphics. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

@erendelous I'm glad you found the core mechanic novel! I always try to do something different for LD, and this, while very simple, felt pretty unique to me :)

@dougdevs Pretty close! I dropped some random objects into a pot full of water to get the various splash sounds. Thanks for the compliments!

dob 2018-12-04 03:07

Tried to play it, but it wouldn't show up in either Chrome or Edge browsers - black screen with music playing. Not sure what's up - might be on my end.

tasakasama 2018-12-04 10:49

Just for the mouthsounds its good... Fun, nice game :)

dzuvan 2018-12-04 18:24

I loved the sounds!

captain-tyx 2018-12-05 12:34

Pretty simple and efficient game ! Really easy to learn, and the inclusion of sacrifice theme is well included. Plus, the physic inclusion (when you push a car with the bridge for example) add a little fun to watch

Great job here ! :)

toulou 2018-12-05 20:37

This is a pretty simple game but I found it very funny. The mouth-made explosion sound, the physic, the whole concept is very funny. I even had a glitch were one of the car got stuck on the bridge but I didn't mind because it added to the absurdity of the situation. Good game :)

mgoadric 2018-12-05 21:15

Great execution of a simple idea! I liked discovering that I could move a bridge when there were cars already on it. "Officer down!"

gwinnell 2018-12-05 22:55

Hello! Well first up I tried to click the play button in your screenshot... off to a good start.

Great job in transitioning into 3D, I'm yet to make the leap myself. I really like the simplicity of the idea here, and It's extra nice with the added mechanic to start/stop the vehicles on tap. It was enjoyable to play and I think the theme shines through. I had some extra fun with the physics making the cars fly off on my subsequent plays. It might have been nice for the bridges to collide with, stop or push each other when you drag them, but that's not really a gripe that I have with it, it doesn't stop the enjoyment, just more of a game design idea!

Nice to see you continuing the mouth sounds theme from your previous jam/s too. Lovely work on this one! :ok_hand:

nick-rafalski 2018-12-06 03:43

@dob I'm really sorry to hear you couldn't get it to work! Its a Unity WebGL game, so I'm curious if other games like it are failing for you, or if it's something about my game specifically. I know the Unity's WebGL export is rather heavy in terms of resources requirements (even for a basic game like this).

@tasakasama @dzuvan @captain-tyx @toulou @mgoadric Thank you all for the kind words and taking the time to leave feedback!

@gwinnell Thanks for the compliments! I'm glad you like the goofy physics. I actually implemented a much more discrete movement scheme for the bridges where they would snap to 1 of 3 spots, and it was much easier to line up with the cars (thus less near misses). It was okay, and generally easier to score high, but lacked something. I turned it off, and realized the more fluid movement made it much sillier and fun. I'm really enjoying checking out your LD offerings each event. Going 3D definitely had it's share of bumps and bruises for me, but your games are so polished and well made already that I'm sure you could succeed.

hystaf 2018-12-06 11:31

Really good job to made this alone. It's polish and fun so what else ?

yyam 2018-12-06 16:01

Fun game :) I had a great time dragging bridges with cars on them into other bridges and watching the cars fly :p One thing I'd say is that it felt like the game was running a bit slowly, but it was nice and polished overall, good job!

call-me-nutty 2018-12-06 20:20

Simple, well executed. I found the game pretty damn tough but losing was also quite fun because of the amazing physics, also, sound effects - perfect... SIMPLY - PERFECT.

jandourek 2018-12-06 21:05

This game was way more fun than I expected! I also love the sounds and physics! Good job!

sokette 2018-12-06 21:17

40 ! Pretty hard on a touchpad :P Very nice and funny game, I always laugh at the homemade mouth sounds

me-fame-u-game 2018-12-06 21:46

Yeah, as most said was very fun to play for such a little simple game! Adding a bit more graphics and making the cars spawn out of screen would improve the mood a lot

nick-rafalski 2018-12-07 02:08

@hystaf @yyam @call-me-nutty @jandourek Thank you all so much for the compliments and feedback!

@sokette 40 is pretty good! I just uploaded an Android port if that is more your style. I think it's actually pretty fun on a touchscreen! Thanks for the compliments!

@me-fame-u-game Thanks for the kind words! I'm definitely going to try to develop my 3D skills and get better for next LD. I've got tons to learn!

antti-tiihonen 2018-12-07 13:04

Simple but slick! Got 36 on my first go but I'm going to retry right away

myfriendtames 2018-12-08 05:26

One of the best!

The sounds are very funny!

I really like your game, it's pretty nice!

Awesome artwork, really!!! :scream:  I love it!!!

Wonderful game, good job! :v:

rsim 2018-12-08 09:52

Great job! I really liked the short, simple gameplay - great choice for a LD. The humorous audio really added a lot too.

nick-rafalski 2018-12-08 15:03

@antti-tiihonen @myfriendtames @rsim Thank you all for the kind words and feedback!

benburgh 2018-12-08 20:19

I really like the idea - I only wish there were defined roads, with cars driving on the right side. Just to help guide the bridge position. Multiple times I moved the cars to drive in the middle of the road, which led to them crashing into cars which spawned later. I love the idea of this with the simple game leading to hectic situations!

nick-rafalski 2018-12-08 20:57

@benburgh I totally agree that it can be hard to line up the bridges without visual aids. I actually had some dashed lane dividers textured into the bridges at first, but they were super uneven and out of scale, so I removed them. Roads were also on the todo list, but didn't make the cut. Thanks for the feedback, and for the compliments :)
