I really liked that silence was represented by musical rest symbols. Nice touch.

I really liked that silence was represented by musical rest symbols. Nice touch.
Really nice game. The audio is amazing !
Love the audio, music and story, but the graphics are too dark, it is very difficult to see the enemies and my own mouse.
I cannot exactly explain why but i absolutely loved your game. Maybe it was just luck, but I felt like every time I did something important or cool, a big musical note kicked in, and the background music is definitely what made this game for me. Good job.
I love the audio in this game. The blending of the different instruments as you pick them up was a great touch. Fire rate or damage could be tweaked a bit but overall great game.
impressive! cool particle effects and excellent sound
Clever implementation of the theme. Liked the music and enemy patterns - there are subtleties to movement and firing that are interesting. Felt like there was a spike in difficulty in the second room though - I really struggled as the enemy projectiles were a rather muted colour compared to my red and got lost in the lighting effects.
Excellent!
Gameplay wise it got a bit tedious, but I did play it until the end, so you managed to keep me curious. The music and sounds were great. A nice attempt on a "mood" game :-)
I liked the idea, using sound as a weapon is always interesting. Too bad you can't shoot well while you're moving because it makes the battles harder =').
I failed in the second room so, does the music changes everytime you retrieve an instrument? Would be cool ^^
Ecxllent!!! Veeery unic!! I love the concept!!!
I found this game quite fun and really loved the idea - definitely a good take on the theme. And the music is really lovely as you unlock the instruments. I find it quite hard to play at times because of the amount of enemies, but I did manage to finish the game.
Really minor detail, but you might want to proof read some of the text, for example at the beginning it says "go search the guitar..." when it should be go search for the guitar or go find.
Awesome audio, good concept and execution.
I love how the sound worked, with the instrument melodies increasing in volume as the enemies blocking them fell.
Remember LD29, when I promised all commenters of my game a let's play? Well,... better late than never! Here is yours: https://youtu.be/WbT7BUGc1-A
This Game is truly amazing. While the gameplay and the visuals are very simplistic, the beautiful soundtrack building up as the heroine recovers the instruments is what makes it so marvelous. It is a simple and yet wonderful composition creating an exquisite vibe. The heroine's voice fitting the music as she sings against the silence is a delicious cherry on the cake.
Pretty nice audio :)
I thought the musical theme tied well to your designs, though the vignette sometimes made me lose track of enemies - good work otherwise :)
Hey there LD people, just wanted to thank you all for your comments and feedback. I know the gameplay is nothing special and could be tweaked a little (or even a lot). I just got distracted with other things and didn't work on it enough to make it really good. For example the shooting enemies don't really work at all, they shoot too often when there's a bunch of them, you can beat them easily by just staying out of range and their bullets are hard to see. Which brings me to the next criticism: The game is too dark. That's very true. I would've just had to increase the size of the overlay and this would've disappeared (as well as that thing being too small in higher resolutions), which really bugs me. I just didn't notice that, quite literally had tunnel vision.
Anyway, enough of the negative stuff. :)
I love it that you all enjoy the audio so much. I try to improve on the artsy sides of things, though I'm not really confident yet. Seems like I at least got better with the music. What do think of the graphics? Honestly, I only like the characters, the instruments look kinda bad and the backgrounds are just empty. Any advice on how to improve?
Alright, so thank you all again for your comments, I really enjoy reading them. A very special big fat THANK YOU to Rialgar for doing the first ever real let's play of any of my games that I know of. Watching that video put a big smile on my face and was very heart warming, so thank you so much for that!
Great sound design and nice mood !
You've done a good job with sound.
The game seems to be a little bit too dark, It was very hard for me to aim.
Nice idea, and powerful game. Not shooting but adding sound to the silence, very poetic.
As a help for you, (and that´s only my mind)I would make the "voice shoots" faster, because the silent ones are really fast.
Nice job!
Absolutely amazing! Wish there was more content! The use of audio was well done!
For being called Silence it sure has some of the best audio around. Good work! :D
Nice game and a lovely idea. The build up of music works well. An issue I had was the character or enemies going off the sides of the screen and then losing where you are.
Very nice music, and love the mood! The graphics are kind of bad, although some of it was good. Nice overall.
Great audio, nice game, well done!
Good audio and nice use of the theme!
Nice take on the theme, sound as a weapon is a very interesting choice (and unconventional, of course ;D)
Good job!
I really enjoyed this game. I love how the music come progressively when you are close to winning an instrument.
The story was nice and simple. I guess you did not use too much light for the scenes because you wanted to simulate a dead world which I think is a good idea because it set the tone for the story.
Well done!
Great sound, but I have to agree with the critiques of the game being a bit too dark, was difficult to see.
A lot of neat ideas were implemented in the game (lagging camera, silent enemies remain silent despite exploding, darker corners on the screen), but put together, actively hurt my experience. It was hard to tell where the enemies were, where my character was, and what I was aiming at, because the dark corners and edges kept obstructing my view. The lagging camera also made it hard strafe without running into an enemy. A lot of usability tweaks could have been used to make the game more enjoyable.
The music was nice, though, and I thought the art was pretty good.
