| Apr 7 10:07:15 | Dead & Buried | ♥ 1 | It was a nice surprise for the mechanics to change up as the game progressed. It was looking to be a rather bland puzzle game, but it turned into something interesting. It would be cool if there was an alternate ending if you ignored John's advice and didn't launch the zombies into space. | |
| Apr 7 10:23:31 | 16m 16s | Shootwell | ♥ 1 | This game hooked me. I made many attempts to try to improve my score. This game really needs a kill counter or some indication on your progress towards upgrades. Also, it's probably just a skill issue, but I usually die before the first upgrade. A gentler difficulty curve would be appreciated. Unless it is intentionally supposed to be difficult, which is a valid choice. The game is fun anyways. |
| Apr 7 11:00:00 | 36m 29s | The Investigator | ♥ 1 | The vibes and aesthetics are very good. I felt very little agency in the games outcomes. This does fit in with the theme very well, but unfortunately it made it not very fun to play. With better writing, this kind of gameplay would work. The game mentioned multiple endings, but I tried different options in my second playthrough and got identical results. If your boss reacted differently depending on your choices, even if it led to the same ending, would be an improvement. If you had more time to flesh out the characters and world building, there is a solid game here. |
| Apr 7 11:31:27 | 31m 27s | Nightmare Digger | ♥ 1 | Funny how we both made a game about going into a mine over and over again, although this is a very different implementation of that idea. It was quite fun for a bit, but got a bit stale as going deeper didn't seem to change anything. Adding new enemies and rocks as you go deeper i think would be an improvement. Also, I might just be really bad at avoiding zombies, but energy didn't seem to matter at all. Your starting energy should probably be much less. |
| Apr 7 11:48:17 | 16m 50s | Just a few kilometers | ♥ 2 | Very tense and exciting game. I felt my heart beating as I got closer to the core. A good risk reward for going fast. I ended up slowing down just so I can get a win. Ended up taking 225 days. |
| Apr 7 12:05:52 | 17m 35s | Deep Fishing | ♥ 1 | Love a good incremental game. The wave effect is nice and really gets the most out of the simplistic graphics. It feels like it is missing that satisfying power spike that some incremental games have, where you can turn your brain off and let the upgrades take over. Not every incremental needs this, but I feel like it would suit this game well. |
| Apr 7 12:42:43 | 36m 51s | Echoes of the Deep | ♥ 1 | Very creepy. The game really shines when you reach the depth where it's impossible to see without the sonar. I think it would be better for the pacing to reach this point a bit sooner. I also would have liked to spend a bit more time in the 'natural' terrain especially when it is pitch black. Just some minor nitpicks, overall fun game. |
| Apr 7 12:59:12 | 16m 29s | Down climber (Pico-8) | ♥ 1 | Well done not using a modern game engine. Looks very challenging to make a game this way. The movement in this game is certainly unique compared to other platformers. One issue is that you can fall to your death near the next checkpoint to make progress. The game really loses its challenge this way. You should probably add some check to make sure the player isn't falling before updating the checkpoint. |
| Apr 7 13:14:16 | 15m 04s | Deep Sword Cultivator | ♥ 2 | The effects for the attacks are very cool. However, they feel a bit imbalanced. The 'e' ability feels much stronger than the rest, though it is very satisfying to use. Needing to stand still to attack is a bit too annoying to make it an interesting tradeoff between attacking and dodging, but I understand what you are going for. A very visually interesting game with a fun little story. |
| Apr 7 14:12:24 | 58m 08s | Deep Guild | ♥ 1 | I see where you were going with this but I can definitely feel the time crunch on this one. The game really needs more item variety and ways to upgrade the shop. The deeper layers should have items that you can't buy normally. My other suggestion is that adventurers should be at risk of dying and deeper layers should take several days to quest. Solid foundation and an interesting theme that could turn into something fun with more development. |
| Apr 7 14:30:46 | 18m 22s | Dark Pit | ♥ 1 | Interesting gimmick for a platformer. It was very challenging and I didn't manage to get very far. I can't exactly pinpoint why, but the controls felt finnicky and unresponsive. I think it is too easy to get stuck under a pile of wood and really be able to make any progress. Otherwise, I like the concept. |
| Apr 7 14:50:18 | 19m 32s | Drop | ♥ 2 | I like the atmosphere and the physics are satisfying. I would have liked to finish the game but I got stuck on the first glider level. Using the power made me fall a bit slower but nowhere near enough to make the jump. I tried getting as much forward momentum as possible for the jump. Am I missing something? |
| Apr 7 15:30:05 | 39m 47s | A Very Deep Tunnel | ♥ 1 | Nice little game loop and good atmosphere. It did get annoying to spam press 'e'. I think it would be better if you picked up crystals simply by walking over them. I imagine that visiting a large patch of crystals and just hoovering them up would be very satisfying. I get that this would largely invalidate the bee boxes and break the balance though. |
| Apr 7 15:42:52 | 12m 47s | Voyage au centre de la Terre | ♥ 1 | I laughed when the manuscript turned into a Pokemon battle. I love the idea of adapting classic literature into a classic JRPG. If you do adapt the whole book in the future, I hope there are more ways for the player to interact. I'd look forward to it if you did. |
| Apr 7 15:52:00 | 9m 08s | Interstellar Dragon - Into the depths... of space! | ♥ 1 | Very chill game with the relaxing music. This kind of game really needs a leaderboard, but I understand that could be challenging to implement for a game jam. |
| Apr 7 17:15:07 | 1h 23m | In the Inferno | ♥ 1 | Pretty fun, although it is a bit too difficult for me to complete. There doesn't seem to be much point to the enemies as you can just spam click and kill them offscreen. Maybe if the enemies had a weak point that you needed to aim for. Though that would make the game even harder :). |
| Apr 7 17:26:55 | 11m 48s | The Well of Secrets | ♥ 1 | It's a pretty creepy game. I love the visuals and the retro shader you used. I was a bit scared at first but by the third floor I realized nothing was going to happen and I relaxed. If you'd have thrown in a jump scare at that point, it really would have got me. One nitpick, you can clip halfway into the walls. Maybe consider making the collider for the player a bit wider. |
| Apr 7 17:55:35 | 28m 40s | BeltCo Mining Inc. | ♥ 1 | I like these kinds of upgrade games. I think that gems are too rare as the progression feels very slow. But overall, well done. |
| Apr 7 18:12:49 | 17m 14s | Rattling | ♥ 1 | This game has a good atmosphere. The sound and the hypoxia effect are a nice touch. Was there a goal in this game besides staying alive? I couldn't figure out anything to do besides crank the oxygen and dive deeper. |
| Apr 7 18:23:48 | 10m 59s | Fusty Fake. Shame in the depths. | ♥ 1 | I like the surreal vibes. The marker aesthetic is a nice touch. It would be nice if the later keys needed more than one step to obtain. It was a bit too straightforward to solve. |
| Apr 7 18:49:43 | 25m 55s | The Treasure of the Gigantanic | ♥ 2 | Fun game. I liked needing to balance my time with the various mini games. I found the 100k treasure but the win button didn't seem to work. |
| Apr 7 18:56:37 | 6m 54s | Target Practice | ♥ 1 | Nice game. Click accuracy is not my strong suit so I did pretty poorly. The graphics are very trippy and unique. Definitely makes it stand out. |
| Apr 9 09:41:29 | 38h 44m | CONFESSION | ♥ 1 | Good stuff. I like narrative based games. Gives me 'To the Moon' vibes. |
| Apr 9 09:49:23 | 7m 54s | Descend | ♥ 1 | Very imaginative. I like the vibes. No challenge, no puzzle, just chill. It's nice to play these kinds of games now and then. |
| Apr 9 09:59:00 | 9m 37s | Grip of the Abyss | ♥ 1 | Fun game with great pixel art. I think it would be better if everything was sped up just a bit to really increase the frantic nature. |
| Apr 9 10:05:44 | 6m 44s | Ad Light | ♥ 1 | I like the art. It is very cute. The randomly placed anglers and mollusks leads to some unfair placements. Maybe better if they were placed by hand for a more balanced experience. |
| Apr 9 10:18:27 | 12m 43s | Pandora's Box | ♥ 2 | Very fun and exciting game. Love the creativity with the various powers. |
| Apr 9 10:30:38 | 12m 11s | Focus Hunt | ♥ 2 | These types of games are not my cup of tea, but very well executed. The blur effect is incredible. Much more difficult than a hidden item game usually is which is a plus for me. Although the small items in the back might be a bit too challenging to find. |
